Transformation Sequence Visual Novel

Transformation Sequence is a short, doujin-level romantic visual novel about Talia, born Timothy; a young transgender college student, Male-to-Female, attempting to both come out to and confess love for her best friend Ethan.

If it turns a profit, I would be willing to pay shares of the profit - probably 4% of the profit for Talia, 2% for all other roles. (Keep in mind the profit margins are likely to be small). You would also be credited and added to our stable of voice actors - we also would recruit for minor roles in Bliss Stage and others, so keep that in mind!

The work itself is PG-13, if that. Romance, but no sex; very little swearing. There are references to gay and lesbian romance, as well as the transgender main character.

Your sample must be in my inbox by December 18th, 5:00pm Pacific Time, to be considered. Send all samples as zipped mp3's (I cannot read .rar files; all such files will be ignored). Clips should be in the format, for example, talia_yourname_1.mp3. Send them to "blissauthority at gmail dot com."

Talia/Timothy Andrew Black
Main character
Age: 19
Bio: The earliest memory Talia had of her awareness of her own gender disphoria was halloween when she was 10: she opined that Halloween "was the best holiday ever, becuase you can wear dresses and eat candy." When her parents sent her to a psychologist for that remark, she had the good luck to see one who told her she was probably female in mind, and how to hide that from her parents and stay sane. And that was a relief.
Now that she's in college, she's slowly coming out of her shell. She's lost herself in fandom - table-top roleplaying games and anime cosplay in particular, so she has an excuse to put on her Girl Voice - but she just might find herself in same. Because of the 'feminine' emotions she's repressed, she's a lot less mature than her age would indicate; but on the Good Ending paths... she gets over it, admirably.
Voice Type: Two types, mostly - a very shy tenor, ranging down into a soft-spoken, confident geek girl. The same VA must do both.

1: "Victoria stole the show... as usual."
2 "So... Ethan... same time next week for the game?"
3 "I think I'll pass on that role... sorry, Lise..."
Female voice:
4 " (In character as a warlord) 'TANOMIZU! Stand down, that's an ORDER!' (OOC) I'm getting her out of there, burning my Expeditious Retreat."
5 "Don't you dare patronize me, Ethan!"
6 "Cassandra, I can't live like this, not anymore."

Ethan Sinclair
Age: 20
Bio: He went to school with Greg, and was Best Friends forever. He ran games for Cassandra which she enjoyed. He's edited scripts for Lisa. He... is the most interesting geek in the world.
(And if told that, he would laugh and do a shameless plug for UCC brand coffee.)
He's a storyteller above all, and always always kind, warm and friendly. The fact that he does this and looks like a young Severus Snape... well, Talia can be forgiven for falling head over heels for him within a week.
Voice type: Warm tenor. A 'friendly mentor' voice.
Lines:
1: ('Nice try.') "His action is to run around screaming like a chicken with his head cut off. I mean, come ON, guys! His stat block is ludicrous Diplomacy and Insight and 'will flee when attacked.'"
2: (bitter) "I just don't understand where anyone gets off saying that loving someone is WRONG, that's all..."

Awed, realizing he loves her) "This... this is crazy, Tal."
4: (j/k) "Yuri? In MY Magical Girls? It's more likely than you think."

Gregory Walters
Age: 20
Bio: His grampa was a fighter pilot. His MOTHER was a fighter pilot (he says with great glee). And the only thing that prevented him from joining the US Navy to become a fighter pilot is FUCKING DON'T ASK DON'T TELL. So he bides his time with wargames with his best friend Ethan ("Of course I never hit on him. He is less than uninterested in men") and an Engineering major in college. Of late, he's been eyeing the really cute blond guy playing a Warlord, and well, in the weekly D&D 4th game Ethan runs. Sadly, the poor guy seems to be spending the half of the session he doesn't pwn noobs staring at Ethan. So freaking cute. Might want to ask him out...

...yes, that's Timothy, or rather Talia. This will end well.

Voice Type: A multiclassed Jock/Nerd. Military brat. Deep voice.
Lines:
1: "Crowning Moment of Awesome in five, four, three..."
2: (flirtatious) "I know your secret, Tim... and I'm still interested..."
3: (sighed) "Never attribute to malice what ignorance alone can accomplish."
4: "Tim? Are... are you okay?"

Cassandra Kaleo Grist
Age: 19
Bio: Cassandra is aptly named. She TRIES to warn Talia - and yes, she knows her as Talia, and as her; she's her best FUCKING friend, so naturally she dumped her AWFUL SEKKRIT OH NOES on her - how to come out in such a way as not to Freak The Mundanes; after all she's had ample practice with that, between her parents and being Prom King with "a freaking hot prom queen." But Tal's still making the same dumb mistakes... at times it frustrates her to no end; the other half of the time it inspires her instinct to just hug the moe-blob in training and kiss her better. Cass has been without a girlfriend for a semester, and it's beginning to annoy her, especially with how freaking oblivious Talia is.
Voice Type: Tomboy, middling alto, tsundere. Note that she sometimes swears, and is a tad ecchi.
1: "...you want... help... with Ethan? Cuz... Cuz I can help with that."
2: (Friendly advice) "You are wearing pants on that date, Talia, you FUCKING MORON."
3:"You're my best friend, okay? I want you to be happy..."
4:"That costume looks great on you, Tal. ...One Percent and Skim there aren't hurting the effect either."

Lisa Ruel
Age: 18
Bio: Lisa knew from age 5 what she wanted to do when she grows up. Act. Act in movies and on a stage. She is well on the way to a Theatre Arts major, to her enduring glee. And she's got new friends... all and all, she's doing well for a shy extrovert.
Then she met Cassandra and her heart skipped two beats. She's not quite sure how she managed to follow her to a Dungeons and Dragons gaming table, but she and her friends are... nice, if a little more geeky than she's used to.
Voice Type: Soft, somewhat high, kind.
1: "Umm... okay, I want to heal you... how does that work again?"
2: (Suspicious) "You weren't 'good' at being Amy, Tim. You NAILED that role."
3: "Honestly, I pegged what the Big Reveal was as soon as I saw her name was Megan."
4: "Followed... her... to dat game with the funny dice, you know?"

Alex Lehman
Age: 19
Bio: Alex is a bad comedian and very, very good at writing drama. He's casually friends with everyone else, by way of the gaming table; and he's always bubbling over with story ideas, which he has learned not to inflict on people who are uninterested.
And no, he's not a romantic path, nor presented as one. Isn't it sad, Alex?

Just as a friend, and a nice fellow.
Voice Type: Cheerful geek.
Lines:
1: (In character for D&D) "OW, THAT WAS MY LAST EYE! How am I supposed to ogle... you now?"
2:"See, Megan is... just a TAD crazy? The play is about what kind of crazy, and how it is Fixed."
3: "Guys, that was superlative. Nice job."
4: "The role is yours if you want it. Just a small gesture of gratitude."
