Re: [Dark Rose Inc] Sailor Moon S ep 125 clip - 04-22-2009, 01:43 AM

*bravo! The great mixing and song choices, especially song choices and sfx were great. This part always gets me close to tears because of the music.
*Nice solid cast here,I wish I could have heard more of the inners but I got a good taste and I'll be back for more! Great job all of you guys, you guys really put effort out there.
Sailor Mars: Shudo-Ranmaru,from what I heard you didn't sound like yourself and I mean that in a good way.I think maybe in one line you might have sounded a bit too young but still good job.
Sailor Mercury: Nikki J. It seems like the voice you used was soft, I don't remember hearing any lines from you but I can't wait to hear more than just sighs and gasps.
Sailor Jupiter: crystal (fill in) I like your jupiter it stood out in the way I think jupiter's voice should.
Sailor Venus: Sasuya-Good job, pitch wise specifically
Sailor Moon: Brooke Lynn-Nice job of capturing the power of sailor moon although I'm not going to lie I'm a huge terri hawkes fan,so I prefer a lower pitch of voice. I think as the video went on you started to sound younger and younger and your mic was distorting your screams but that's not your fault.
Professor Tomoe: GeneralIvan Like the voice, specifically the scene where you were remenicing on the old times with hotaru,a few things that bothered me though were the crying because it tended to sound a bit fake almost but not too bad, crying is very hard so I applaud you.Lastly,is the way you pronounced hotaru its usually hoe-tar-oo but w/e that's really not a big deal at all.
Hotaru/Mistress 9/Sailor Saturn: crystal-You pulled this off nicely,I think you had the most difficult part because you had to play three roles and my favorite was hotaru and mistress 9 was also good, especially the effects used on the voice.Sailor saturn's voice needed a bit more development it seemed like you were trying to find a happy medium between a more mature sound but not too old.Your saturn voice was best when you were talking to sailor moon.Very good overall.
Sailor Neptune: Mindychan: Nicely done but it was hard to hear your voice, maybe it was just too soft for me.There's nothing that was bad about your performance.
Sailor Uranus: Vesper: An all time favorite of uranus performance ESPECIALLY the scream that was your most powerful moment, nailed it.It was weird though sometimes when you said something it always made me question the intention of the character.great job.
Darien/Tuxedo Mask: Bladeblur:Nice job,but I think darien's voice is deeper and it seemed like you had an odd wraspy quality to your voice that didn't work to well with the character.
Luna: majia:Your luna was interesting and new for me.I like that it wasn't british, not that I don't dislike the british version I just liked the way you did yours although the pitch seemed a tad too high but not that big of a deal.Still good job.
Artemis: BlueShadow-This was another voice I couldn't hear that well and also it seems like artemis's character should have a more obnoxiousness to him.
Rini/Sailor Mini-Moon: crystal (fill in)-Good wimpers
Sailor Pluto: Merodi:Nicely done!

*Like I said before, can't wait for the episodes

Okay, it's safe for me to say I haven't watched Sailor Moon, except for a few clips a while back. I never realized how emotional it can really be!

I think everyone did well in their respective roles. There are a few minor issues here and there, like overpowering music, but I thought it was very well done and honestly I can't really nitpick. Everyone were great!

Re: [Dark Rose Inc] Sailor Moon S ep 125 clip - 04-22-2009, 07:31 AM

First, I gotta say listening in order of appearance doesn't do this justice. Hotaru was the star of this clip in all sense of the word. But that's just how I saw it.

As for critque, most of it was good but a little bit of nit picking (as least for what I actually heard line wise.)

Sailor Moon: Good voice but it seemed to lack the true struggle of the situation at times. When she kept shouting "Moon Crisis Make Up" some of them were missing the utter desperation that she's supposed to feel during that scene. And some of the screams were a little hard to deal with, like so uber high pitched.

Sailor Neptune: I didn't think the voice fit her. It sounded too young and was missing the true serene maturity Michiru has.

Other Senshi: Besides Uranus, I barely heard anything from the rest so there isn't much room to critique.

Luna: Voice sounded a bit too mature for her.

Artemis: It was ok, just thought it was a lil deep for him.

Professor Tomoe: Thought it was too deep. His voice in the flash back scenes was good though. And something about the way he said Hotaru was odd to me.

I think if I had to pick who stood out the most it would be Hotaru and Uranus, I think they fit perfectly and the line readings were great.

Re: [Dark Rose Inc] Sailor Moon S ep 125 clip - 04-22-2009, 05:58 PM

Ahh my favorite part of the entire Sailor Moon Series! Nice to see someone taking a stab at it and actually having something come from it, good job There's not really a lot from most of the characters, especially other senshi, so I'm not really gonna go into everyone till we get to maybe hear some more.

Professor Tomoe: You did pretty well with him, I think you suited him the most in the flash back though. The voice there was rather fatherly and yet youthful, the Professor of now on the other hand was different, though he should be a bit but something didn't quite seem right to me. I'm not really sure what though, it could have been from the emotion being used as the "sadness" in the voice didn't seem fully there. I would on the other hand love to see how you'd do with his crazy mad scientist side seen in the earlier parts of the series.

Hotaru/Sailor Saturn & Mistress 9: Crystal: All of her incarnations are my Favorite character(s) in the series, so I was excited to see how that would be handled when I first read about you doing these (since I didn't know who would be her).

You defiantly have a distinct difference between the three, at least of what we get to see of them, and that is what really helps show the differences in them. I think they were all pretty well done really though I'd like to hear more on the Mistress side of it though. That being that Hotaru and Saturn had more of the bigger role in this part of the episode.

One thing I did see with the Mistress though was the "breathing/talking" transition. The part when she's trying to regain control over herself, that part sounded rather odd. The words and breathing in the beginning didn't seem as if they were spaced enough? It felt as if they kind of cut into each other a bit too quickly. They seemed okay more towards the end of that part though. I'm sure it was probably hard going back and forth from the talking into the breathing, but maybe shortening the amount/length of words could have helped a bit.

Production: Overall it was mixed pretty well but I think there's still some small things. Like in the flashback scene, it didn't quite sound like a flashback. The filter over it had a rather metallic sound to it in places.

There's also some faint static in lines, mainly any of your own crystal though I may be the only one that can hear that with this headset I have.

When Hotaru breaks free of mistress 9, the line she says there "I have ----- I care about a lot"... at least that's all I can make out of that. I'm not sure if it's just the way you said it or if it's the way it was mixed, so I just put it here, but I couldn't make out much of what was said there.

A major thing that bothered me though is the pronunciation of HOTARU. For the most part it's said wrong by everyone, other than yourself, and plus it didn't really seem consistent between the other people that say it. I think helping to keep pronunciation similar is another thing that helps the overall production. The main problem I noticed in it was that everyone else said her name as if the "Ho" were from the word "Hot" when it should have more of the sound as in the word "Hope".
