[Hari26]

Hey everyone! It’s time for my re-make of .hack//roots episode 1! Right now I only have the first part of the episode. The first one was bad, and it was also my first project ever that I didn't get to finish. So, I hope you enjoy and I hope you will critique this!

Part 1

Critiques:

PK 1 – LG65: I liked how you said pathetic. It was cool and a little mysterious. It made me feel like laughing because it was so good.

PK 2 – Sayaka: All I can say is… WOW… you made this PK sound so nasty and made it seem like she had a bit of fun PKing Haseo.

Haseo – Rakansen: I really liked how you did the whole ‘in pain’ thing. It was really good. I also liked the part where you made Haseo in pain still after wards. In general, it was a good performance.

Ovan – Zeix: All I can say it… COOL! You sounded really close to the original voice of Ovan in the real dubbed version. I liked how you did all the lines, however, there were a few times that you changed your voice a bit, but it wasn’t that noticeable.

Phyllo – Shift: I can’t say much since you didn’t have many lines in this first part, but I did like how you did the “hm-mm!”

Tabby – Aeremonster: You had some stuff in your mic that was a little hard to get out all the way, but other wise it was a great performance. I really liked how you did Tabby. You displaced it really well.

Shino – Hari26’s sister: Mic quality, that’s all I can really say. Our mic quality is crap. I tried my best to get it as well as I could. Overall the performance was great!

Critiques:

Tan's Guild Master: Dukerobear - I really liked how you brought out this character and made him sound mysterious

Endu: Brii - You brought out Endu very well and made her sound cocky. There were a few times were the mic quality turned out a little weird, but it wasn't that noticable.

Towaliya: Kite Stonewater - You did a good job on this character!

Girl Person 1: Hari (Me) - Can't critique myself! ^^;

Girl Person 2: Sayaka - I liked how you made this character character sound! It was really well done! ^_^

Boy Person 1: Scottoka - Some parts of the lines got a bit quick than the mouth flap, but wasn't that noticable

Boy Person 2: Broly5 - You did a really good job on dispalying this characters voice! ^_^

Haseo: Rankansen - Again, you are a great Haseo and you did a very good job on it!

Phyllo: Shift - I really liked how you made Phyllo sound and it was a great job that you did.

Sakisaka: StellarVision - There could have been a bit more emotion in the lines, but you did a great job other than that!

Little Pig: Sayaka - I liked this! You made the little pig sound so cute.

Shino: Hari's sister - Well, your emotion seemed to have been minized from the last part, but the mic quality got better with the new mic at hand.

I could re-due the lines if you wish? Over all its not that bad for the most part. Though, Shino is kinda hard to hear at points, so maybe have her project a tad bit louder?

Pardon me for being brutally honest, but if I don't say borderline rude things, the people will never improve. Forgive me.

First off, everyone did well. That goes without saying. Second, these are just my critiques.

LG65: Your voice sounded very deep. I'm not sure if it's always like that, or if you doctored it, but it was impressive.

Sayaka: I wasn't really buying it. I think you could have sounded a little bit more vicious. The original VA was very 'Hell, I'd do that again RIGHT NOW if I had the chance!'

Rakansen: I'm sorry, but your death noises need a little bit more work, and your lines lack the oomph that a good lead character needs. Your line 'Thanks for saving me' seemed very lackluster held some ingenuity to it. A little bit too nasally for the role, I would vote.

Zeix: A little bit silly to review myself, but it's good to be hard on yourself. I think I could have done quite a bit better. My lines were pretty accurate with how the original VA enunciated (I paid careful consideration to how long he held certain words) but I DEFINITELY made my lines too high at certain points.

Shift: Very few lines for me to work with, but from the voice you used I can tell you made him a little bit more wheezy and old. Makes enough sense, but the original Phyllo voice had this higher-toned voice with a bit more wisdom in it. It wasn't very comical.

Aeremonster: Your giggle lines were very appropriate, and your mic sounded fairly loud (which doesn't mean it's your fault) but your emotion was a little bit odd. What should have been said as a plain statement you interpreted as an irritated line, which threw off the mood/relationship between Shino and Tabby. I would say to look at the context, it's really important.

Hari26's Sister: Your voice sounded very capable for Shino. The only things that struck me as odd were, obviously, the mic quality. It was very quiet, for the most part, which made it sound amateurish when played alongside others' lines. The voice used was also very breathy and floaty.

Thanks for the comments you two. Yeah, this is the first time my sister has voice acted, and our mic is poor quality and it likes picking up every little detail there can be. I ordered and new one, but don't know when it is going to come in.

What should have been said as a plain statement you interpreted as an irritated line, which threw off the mood/relationship between Shino and Tabby. I would say to look at the context, it's really important.

Me... well, let's say I'm a natural for deep voices. Thanks Zeix, for that comment, eh? Hmm... You were close, Sayaka, but if you could make the one-line freakier (you know, scarier), I think it'll be good (Gee, I sound like Professor Oak in Pokemon Snap. XD).

Haseo - Rakansen

Hmm... It was good, but it could've sounded more... I can't find the word for it. Anyway, I do agree with Zeix that your performance suffered, due to lack of delivery power and weak death noises.

Ovan - Zeix

You, my good sir, were awesome as Ovan! So mysterious... and deep. You gave a divine performance there! Very well done!

Phyllo - Shift

You did nicely there, despite the one-liner. Well done.

Tabby - Aeremonster

Pretty good, but there were mic issues present. Despite that issue, you were, again, pretty good as Tabby. Nicely done!

Shino - Sister of Hari26

Your Shino was pretty decent. But, and as others stated before, mic quality hammered it down awfully. Don't take it too bad... Despite this, you were pretty good.

Mixing

Nicely done. However, some of our voices were either too quiet (Rakansen & Hari26's sis) or too loud (Aeremonster). Balance is key and that hammered down the quality of the production to some degree. Other than that, nicely done!

Well, I hope to try and sound better in the next round. My new mic might help the quality a bit. Thanks for the input Zeix. I hope to work with all again soon.

yeah, it was my first time doing any voice acting, heh. ^^; Thanks for the critiques, I'll look out for those issues in future voice acting. I think my voice naturally lacks the deepness of haseo's character, but hey, gotta work with what I have. =P

Also, as for the mixing, I'd say it was done well, but, the quality of the recordings seems to have been brought down a bit. Besides that though, I think it turned out great. ^^

Hi~! Well, all I have to say is that everyone sounded great! However, on the mixing, there were a few places where there needed to be some sound. like when Phyllo was disappearing and reappearing. There needed to be something there. Otherwise this was really good Hari~! ^_^
