Communication Breakdown
Story:
When a mysterious second moon appears in the sky, everything in the city of Kokura, Japan begins to change. The Astronomical Agency observed this new moon and concluded that it simply doesn't exist; we see it, yet it isn't there. What can it be? Following the appearance of this new moon are dangerous monsters that began to appear and affect the city as a whole. The monsters are referred to as "Kasha" by those that know about them, after the demonic forms that they take on. However, a group of teenagers with special abilites in Kokura High, known as the Astronomy Club, have begun their own search to discover the purpose of this new moon. The Astonomy Club is simply a front for these students, who are both fighting the monsters that are attacking the city as well as scouting the city for people with abilities just like theirs.
A sudden rash of arsons in Kokura set the Astronomy Club on edge, as Ryou and Makoto suspect that the culprit is anything but human. The group's problems are squared with Izumi's revelation that the group has a dangerous classmate who also has abilities; Manami Miwasaka, a girl who can persuade anyone into doing anything she wishes. Stuck between two potential enemies, the Astronomy Club must solve the mystery behind the fires, but things get complicated when one of their own falls victim to the siren's song...

Producer's Notes:
Wow, for the episode I thought would take the shortest amount of time to finish, it actually took the longest out of all of the episodes thus far; so much for my promise of not releasing an episode late ever again! =P
I'm pretty proud of this one, and listening to say, the second episode, and then listening to this one, I can say for sure that I'm slowly improving. For this episode, I switched from using Cool Edit Pro to Adobe Audition, which is a little more complicated, but much more powerful, editing tool.
Hooray new main character! If you've been following along with the series, this actually isn't the first time we've met Manami; she had a few lines in the first few episodes. I really had fun toying with the effects for her ability, although I will say that I'll probably be having nightmares for some time.
Please listen and review, even if it's just a few sentences telling me that you enjoy the series, or things that myself or any of the cast needs to improve on!
Messages to the Cast:
Manami, played by Amree Takahara
You're finally getting more than just two lines! YOu're an excellent AVA who really gets into character and fits Manami very well, and you have a great emotional range. The only thing that I could ask for is that you could be a little more prompt getting your lines in.
Kana, played by Manabi
Once I heard your great acting skills in AJASM, I knew that I had to get you into the series *somehow*. I'm extremely glad you auditioned, and you played Kana extremely well, to the point where I kind of want to expand on her role a little bit. Great job!
Hiroshi, played by Data Drain
Ew. I really didn't want to self-cast, but the lack of really good auditions for Hiroshi gave me no choice. I could've used a little bit more emotion in my lines.
Ryou, played by Bloody Howling
Yep, I can tell that you're pretty much comfortable with Ryou by now; you capture his personality well, from the excitement to being in his first meeting, to the semi-irritation at his new nickname. You're getting better with every episode!
Kyoka, played by Scarlotte
I couldn't have asked for a better Kyoka! You give Kyoka enough balance that she doesn't sound like an obnoxious brat over a shoe sale, and the inflection in your voice when you're doing her more comedic lines is spot on!
Tsubasa, played by Sukisho
As I've told you before, you've definitely got skill playing the cool and collected pretty boy, but with Tsubasa, you give him just a touch of the attitude he needs to round out his character. I need to point out how intense you get when you're calling out your elemental attacks; it's pretty damn awesome.
Shinkai, played by R. Douglas Barbieri
You've definitely gotten more comfortable in your role, and people who were a little skeptical about Shinkai's deep voice in the first episode are telling me that they definitely can't fathom listening to a less-deeper voice for Shinkai. The only thing I'm regretting is getting more into your emotional range, because the character hasn't been calling for it yet, but it'll come soon enough, and I can't wait to hear it.
Izumi, played by Cerise Panda
You know how great of a voice actor you are, and since you won AX Idol 2008, you pretty much won't ever be able to deny it again! Although I wasn't sure if you could improve on your already great Izumi, it seems that you've been doing just that, from adding a little more mild irritation to your lines, to perfecting your deadpan delivery with lines that Izumi wouldn't find funny, but everyone else might. I'll try not to be too overwhelmed by the fact that I now have a celebrity in the cast. ;D
Makoto, played by River Angel Odin
You're another actor who has been improving on her character as each episode goes on! You've definitely got Makoto's maturity nailed down perfectly, and you played the whole maternal chastizing scene with Kirara insanely well; do you have any younger siblings that you've had practice on? =P The only thing that I would ask you to improve on (though this episode didn't call for it) is a little more emotion in the lines that require it. Other than that, you're excellent!
Reporter and Witness, played by Williamdorf
I totally owe you for being there for me and doing these lines when I was in a pinch, so thank you, thank you, thank you! It's amazing how I have the two characters come one line after the other, and you can hardly tell that it's the same person! Your improv on the Witness line was excellent and I still laugh at it every time I hear it. I definitely hope I can borrow your talents again soon!
Gossip A, played by Mochan
I always manage to get you into these smaller parts, which is a shame because I'm dying to hear you in a larger role! You did a fantastic job, as usual, and don't worry; I haven't forgotten about the Ice Cream Radioplay...I've just been uber busy! =P
Gossip B, played by Somax
I was originally going to use your accent lines that you sent to me, but I realized that it wouldn't really fit the setting and scene, although it did sound pretty good! You're an excellent AVA, and I hope that I can hear more from you soon!
Kirara, played by Katrina
Nine out of ten listeners agree, your Kirara is incredibly adorable! You're also improving a lot on leaving out your accent, and while it isn't completely gone, you can still get away with it slipping at times just because it makes Kirara sound even cuter!
