Original: Trailer for Requiem - Casted, Scripts sent. - 07-02-2008, 04:18 PM

Ok, I'm working on a script for a radioplay But I wanted to start off with a simple project to get my feet wet first.

Requiem is your basic sword and sorcerery story, complete with all clasic Fantasy elements.

This trailer is going to be treated like a movie teaser, only a couple minutes long and used to hone my skills at the mixing board, as well as provide all you hard working VA's with another role!

Casted roles will be retained when I move to full production unless some castastrophic event happens. Also, no major accents. I will accept English accents for Tiamat, Ariel, and Tsirion.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Males:

Armyd: Loner who takes Ariel under his protection. Not much is known about him, but there is something different about him.

voice - Medium, medium Low, gruff but not raspy.

Lines:
!.) (matter-of-factly) There are things in this world that even you don't understand, Princess. (the last word is stressed, almost a put down)
2.) (Exhausted, out of breath) Still dreaming...after all this time you'd think I'd run out of images to see.
3.) (Angry) Yes, your family and many of your kind were killed. Tragic, I agree. But none of what they went through even comes CLOSE to what I have endured and what I have had to do. They don't relive their deaths in their dreams, or continue in this damned eternal existance.
4.) (Weakly) No, but you won't get away either.
5.) (softly, wondering) Can a monster be anything but a monster?

Tsirion: A companion of Armyd that had been polymorped into a wolf some time ago. Laid back and a notable lech, but honest.

voice - Medium, self satisfied and cocky.

Lines:
1.) (chuckling with an almost 'whuffing' sound) Staying with him for safety? That's a first!
2.) (quietly, with a serious tone) You can't contain it forever, eventually it will get out.
3.) (If you can emote a leer, go for it) Well, I can't say its all bad. The lady wolves tend to find me fetching.

Darest - Elf Abjurist, head of what remains of the Mages Council.

Voice - Medium to high, melodic or otherwise clear. He was a public speaker for a living, so his voice is very clear and concise. I think of David Hyde Pierce or Kelsey Grammer when I write for this character.

1.) If there is no new business, then I move to end the convention.
2.) (Apalled) Are you mad? Not a single party that has gone hunting for the Hammer has ever come back.
3.) (as though reciting by rote) The Warmace of Thane Kalessh (Kal-esh, for pronounciation) was the hammer wielded by many in the history of The Trials. Forged of Adamant with a Mithril head and bindings, it was truly a force to be reckoned with. It was thought lost in the Catyclysm.
4.) (With conviction) Where do you think you're going? (Casting a spell) Ratrival!

Narrator: Self explanitory, can be male or female.

Lines:
1.) In the history of the world, magic had been a rareity. Now, in the age of Arcanum, the Gifted are about to bear witness to a calamity never before seen.
2.) When your greatest curse is your greatest gift, the time for sacrifice is at hand.
3.) Requiem: The Begining.
4.) Some tales are lost, some never told, some never forgotten.

Females

Ariel: Daughter of an Elvish soldier and court attendent, sole survivor of her family. Self assured and armed with a quick wit and sharper tonuge. Redheaded with the temper to match.

Voice: Medium, able to convey both sharp sarcasm and true doubt.

Lines:
1.) (curious, playful) So, what does a mage like you need out of the Ruins? Mighty dangerous place to go in this day and age.
2.) (sarcastic, firing back at Armyd) Yeah, I know how to use a sword. The pointy end goes in the other person.
3.) (self-conscious) They're all staring at me.
4.) (Anger flaring, can be loud or deathly soft) Right, I'm such a burden. Never mind that if not for me you'd be laying dead in the Ruins right now! Go! Get yourself killed.

Sienna: Sage of the Magisters Guild, very wise and very patient.

Voice: High to medium-high, soft and easy spoken.

Lines:
1.) (Gently) Sometimes it is not what we do that tells what we are. Look inside and judge for yourself.
2.) (urgently) Fetch the healers, quickly!

Tiamat: Main villian. Prone to rage and petulence.

Voice: medium-low, Silky, seductive. I want to paint the picture of a succubus come to life.

Lines:
1.) Oh, come now. Did you really think that I would leave you like that? (walks away, then to a minion) Kill him.
2.) (Starts soft, then slowly builds to a rage) Oh, I understand. My two best hunters not only failed to track him down or capture him, they also managed to get themselves attacked by the Mah'ar Elves! Now instead of preparing to turn this mage, I have to clean up your mess!
3.) (soft, hypnotic, almost caressing) Come, join me, and I can erase those dreams, take away the powers that tear your soul. You and your elf friend could find a nice quiet place to settle. I could even return your other friend to his human form.
4.) (Powerdrunk) You dare draw a weapon on a god? (laughs scoffingly)
5.) (coldly) This is not over, you have merely raised the stakes.

Reese: A young elven ranger that works for Tiamat out of misplaced belief that she rescued her from the massacre.

Voice: low/Medium-low. Firm, with a trace of cuban or spanish accent in her voice. Think Catherine Zeta-Jones or Penelope Cruz. (optional)

Lines:
1.) (hesitantly) I am afraid we were unable to detain the mage. He slipped through the Ruins while we were dealing with a Grell.
2.) (Giving orders to a squad) Exercise extreme caution. The targets are both adepts and experienced melee combatants. If possible, capture the elf first to through the human off balance.
3.) (disbelief) You orchestrated the massacre? To provide enough souls to sacrifice for this ritual?
4.) (speaking in Elvish to Ariel, faintly) Caetish en tient. Do you understand the meaning of that phrase? Without fear. I go to meet my family now.

Slyph - A forest spirit, related to the Dryads and Nymphs

Voice - Childlike, giggling.

1.) Silly man, no one living has passed by here for many a lifetimes. (giggles) But you would know that, as you were the last to pass me as well.
2.) Ah, the Mortal races, always searching for a war to wage while we of the Eld rebuild afterward. I suppose you could think of it as job security!
3.) Well of course, Silly! (emits a low humming/singing tone) These horses should get you there much faster!
4.) (talking with herself, with a slight change in the two voices) Do you think we'll see him again? He came back last time, after all (V2) Nope. But her, her we'll see again and again. (V1) Right! She was more fun anyway, even with the flame and anger.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Please encode your auditions as .mp3 files entitled Character_screenname_requiem and send them to trek_1701d@hotmail.com with your contact and credit info in the email. Please place requiem in the subject line or it will not be opened.

note: The lines above are from the actual storyline, the script for the trailer will be similar, but may deviate. These lines are those that I feel best capture the essence of the characters.

Deadline is July 20.
