Yes, I’m back with more Trinity Blood. As some of you may remember, my first project here was a radioplay of the first volume of the Trinity Blood manga. And now it’s time for volume two! Things are slightly different this time around though. Acts 5-8 are actually a series of four short stories about Abel, Tres, and Esther on their way to Rome after the events of volume one. For those of you not familiar with the series, Trinity Blood is described in the books as a “gothic action series”, and takes place in the distant future where humans, sort of, co-exist with vampires (or Methuselah, as they prefer to be called), an alien race that appeared on Earth after Armageddon. The story follows a young nun, Sister Esther Blanchett, and an absent minded priest called Abel Nightroad, as well as other members of the Vatican State Special Services, more commonly known as the AX.


You can listen to Acts 1-4 HERE. And I recommend that you do listen, if you're not familiar with the series, since there are some references to the first four acts.

Especially if you're auditioning for Leon or Esther, because I'm being sort of picky with them, only because I have a very clear idea of how I want them to sound. Characters marked with a * are reoccurring characters in the series. Please take this into consideration when auditioning, because I do plan on continuing adapting this series into a radioplay. There may be a bit of a wait before some characters show up again, but I’d like to have people who can commit to something in those roles (I hate recasting).

Sister Esther Blanchett
Age: 17
One of the main characters of the story, Esther is a young novice with a strong sense of justice. After her home church in Istavan is destroyed she decides to travel to Rome with Abel and Tres. She is intelligent and a quick thinker, however she is also somewhat hot-headed and knows that she still has a lot to learn about, well, pretty much everything. Heads up for those auditioning for Esther: Trinity Blood, the manga at least, is told mostly from Esther's point of view (lots of inner monologues). Thus, this is a very big part. PLEASE only audition if you can commit.
Voice: Medium, maybe medium-high, tom-boyish sometimes but still pretty, emotional, often frustrated with Father Nightroad

Act 5: Adrenaline Drive
Abel, Esther, and Tres are on a train en route to Rome, when their car is attacked by a vampire, apparently looking to avenge to death of Gyula Kadar.

Etoile Duchaussoy
Age: 8 (ish)
A young boy who, quite literally, runs into Abel, Tres, and Esther on the train. He is lively and outspoken, and instantly takes a liking to all three of them. He also seems to look up to his father, and wants to protect Esther.
Voice: Medium –high, high, slight French accent, energetic, a little over dramatic sometimes, can be voiced by a girl
Cast to: JellybeanQueen2** (sorry, I'm being picky with him, and those who auditioned for him have been cast in other parts anyway)



Vampire “Justice”
Age: unknown, physically appears to be somewhere in his twenties
A vampire who shows up on the train, apparently to kill the Terran (human) who killed Gyula. He is somewhat cocky, or at least he acts that way, and seems to live by some kind of code of honor. Or something.
Voice: Medium, cocky but serious when he needs to be

Etoile’s Mother
Age: early thirties
A kind woman who seems to worry about her son quite a bit. Since this part is small, I will most likely double cast it with a character from one of the other acts.
Voice: Medium, maybe medium-low, motherly, caring, slight French accent

Act 6: The Sleeping Beauty
After the incident on the train, our “fearless” trio decides to take a shortcut through the woods. However, things are not always as they seem.

“Sleeping Beauty”
Age: Over 500, physically appears to be in her late teens.
It is unknown whether she was originally Methuselah or Terran (it seems likely she was a Methuselah (vampire)), but after waiting for her lover to return to her from a war for 500 years she has literally become part of the forest. I guess you could call her a dryad. Or a ghost.
Voice: Medium-high, somewhat young, ethereal or other worldly

*Isaac Ferdinand von Kampfer
Age: unknown, appears to be somewhere in his twenties, maybe early thirties
A high ranking member of the Rosencreuz Orden, the same organization Dietrich belongs to. His title is “Magister” or “Wizard/Magician”. Like most members of the Orden, he has little to no regard for human life, not thinking twice before killing someone. He only has a cameo part in this act, but becomes one of the major villains later on in the series.
Voice: Medium, medium-low, possibly slightly raspy since he smokes a lot, smooth…creepy? My nickname for this character is “His Royal Scariness”, if that gives any ideas

Act 7: Roselyne et les Lion
Once out of the forest, Abel, Tres, and Esther come to a town now controlled by vampires and opium. When Esther runs off after thinking she caught sight of Dietrich, she finds an ally in, as usual, a rather unexpected place.

*Leon Garcia de Asturias
Age: mid-late twenties
A large, somewhat rambunctious, energetic, and occasionally hot tempered man with a fondness for young women, Leon is sort of the tough on the outside, kind on the inside type. After rescuing Esther, he almost instantly takes an extreme liking to her, declaring her the “second greatest woman in the world” (his daughter is the first).
Voice: Medium-low, sort of Hispanic accent, almost think Antonio Banderas meets Spike Speigel

Vampire “Snake”
Age: unknown, appears to be in his late twenties-early thirties
A local vampire drug/arms dealer. Yeah, this guy doesn’t really get any character development. He’s basically here to get kicked around by Leon.
Voice: Medium, medium-low…um, not nice? I don’t know. Surprise me.
Cast to: LG65**

Thugs
Age: various, unknown, appear to be in their twenties
A group of men who attempt to take advantage of Esther when she gets lost. They end up getting the snot beaten out of them by Leon instead.
Voice: Feel free to make something up, use your natural voice if you want.
Cast to: Senriaa, LG65 (there are technically four of these guys, so if anyone else is interested, let me know. If not, I can manage with two people.

*Cardinal Caterina Sforza
Age: early-mid twenties
The leader of the AX, and Pope Alessandro’s older half-sister, Caterina is strong willed, kind, and very beautiful. Unlike many people in the Vatican, including her brother Francesco, she believes that peace with the vampires and the Empire is possible and works hard to achieve that goal. She and Abel have been friends since before the AX was founded. She has a fairly small part in this act, but is a fairly major character in the series.
Voice: Medium-low, intelligent, strong, feminine, kind

*Sister Kate Scott
Age: mid twenties
A member of the AX, code name “Iron Maiden”, Kate always appears in hologram form and controls the Vatican’s battleship “Iron Maiden II”. Originally from Albion (England), she is usually the one trying to keep the other AX agents in line, which seems to lead to endless headaches for her. She also appears in Act 8.
Voice: Medium, kind, a little motherly, often frustrated, slight British accent possible but not necessary

Act 8: Gate of Heaven
Almost to Rome, the three book passage on a luxury cruise ship. On board they run into another member of the AX and, once again, things don’t exactly go to plan.

*Father William Walter Wordsworth
Age: mid thirties-early forties
One of the older members of the AX, code name “Professor”, William is intelligent and constantly coming up with new inventions. Unfortunately, not all of these inventions work like they’re supposed to. Like Kate he is originally from Albion, and is usually very polite, kind, and very proud of his inventions. Even the ones that don’t work.
Voice: Medium-low, intelligent, sort of fatherly sometimes, slight British accent

Siren
Age: Unknown, appears to be in her twenties
A vampire who can transform underwater, better known as a “siren” or “mermaid”. She attempts to drink the blood of the ship’s passengers, but is thwarted by Tres.
