Amidst visits to the doctor, failing driving tests, working on finals, technical difficulties, and battling the EXTREMELY short deadline, I was able to finish the audio end of my final project for high school. Although I managed to complete the artwork for several stages, I was unable to complete them in time to make the visual end as I planned... Hopefully though, I'll get those finished someday and perhaps find a flash animator who's willing to work on this. There was so much I wanted to put into this that is beyond my capabilities, especially during the long lapses of music where visuals should've taken over.
(My 7-8 page essay on this project is proof of this.)
Thankful mentions go to the VA's who still made time to keep in touch with me or record, even though they were unable to make it into the final cut. There's a good chance that I'll make an extra reel of some kind since a lot of the improv lines, nifty takes, and outtakes still entertained me as I fought the crunch.
My mixing definitely needs work, but hopefully it showed signs of improvement. I'd appreciate any constructive criticism in regards to my skills and VAing.
XD Phillip as the Fox totally stole the show. Everyone in my class kept asking about him. Everyone was also entertained by Shockdingo's performance as the Peacock and the Tiger.
It was great working with everyone despite finals season and national holidays popping up. I'd like to work with these folks in future productions~

Hnilmik (at the cost of masculinity) this was very beautiful. One of the most beautiful things I've had the pleasure of listening to. The choice of music was perfect and there was not a single weak performance. In fact, all of the performances were perfect. Probably the best collective acting I've heard in a long time. I was completely relaxed while listening... I was told it was a close race between Lioncourt and I for Fox... I wasn't even close. Phillip, dude, that was amazing! You completely had that character down and I was even able to pick up a few things out of your performance for my own use. Great job everyone. Great job.

Echoing what has already been said, this is a truly beautiful piece Hnilmik, effectively told and profoundly moving. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this project.

This was a pleasure listen to. I found it really witty and I love how the tale was told. Everyone's performances were great and that being said, I think the performance that really stood out to me was Lioncourt's rendition of the fox. I loved the british accent and the edgy voice he used, it made the character look really smart. I also thought Shockdingo's rendition of the peacock was halarious as well. Raven also sounded very cute, quite fitting for the character.
As for the mixing, I thought your selection of music was awesome even though you used a lot of FFX music which many ppl may be familair with. When mixing other RPs in the future, I'd recommend you to avoid using music from popular video games or anime's because it kinda takes away from the story you're telling. But asides from FFX, I LOVED your choice of music, especially the various piano tracks that you used. It created quite an atmosphere for the radio play so good job on that! The SFX were also used quite well but for the part during the end when they were running, I dont think you executed it quite well because I found it kinda awkward that they were running and yet no one was panting. That's about it though.
Anyway, I really enjoyed listening to this, so good job to everyone including you!

Thank you for taking the time to critique my work, especially the mixing since I personally felt like it was my weak point.
I'll be sure to keep the choice in music in mind. While lots of copyrighted music are very effective in conveying a scene, I do plan on working on more projects in the future... And I definitely don't want to feel the paranoia of being sued.
(I oughta sit down and listen to a bunch of copyright-free stuff...)
^_^; I was wondering if anyone was going to catch that SFX being weird during the Elderly Stage... If that's the part you're referring to. I searched high and low for SFX of dance steps (that wasn't tapdancing), but found hardly any that was even close to waltz, let alone in sand. As someone who once took ballroom classes, it was really tough for me to pick that running track... As it was somewhat rhythmic, but obviously still running, even though I tried to go for the whole tired-less feel.
So once again, I deeply appreciate your honest input and I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed this overall~
