Hey everybody! We're currently seeking supporting voice actors to fill several roles in a point-and-click adventure game set in a fantasy/mythical world. A fairly well-known Hollywood TV actor has already been cast in the main role, so this project will be of a professional calibre. However before applying, please note that this is
not paid work, and also that an agreement would need to be signed permitting us to use your voices in the game. Please only apply if you are okay with that, and if you'll be in a comfortable position to record lines in fairly short timeframe, as we're on a fast-moving schedule.
Due to the fact that the project has not been announced yet, we're wanting to keep the specific details under wraps at the current time. However, here's a list of character types we're scouting for right now:
Reptilian lizard (male): A lizard with a slick accent. Something that sounds like T-Bag from Prison Break would suit this character well.
Sample line: I enjoy hot days. They make me feel almost warm-blooded.
Thief (male):
This character has been cast.
A southern US (redneck) accent for a thieving ruffian with no morals. The character should sound like a young or middle-aged male.
Chipmunk (male):
This character has been cast.
High-pitched, fast-talking voice. Character should sound like a young male. American accent.
A Townsperson
This character has been cast.
Calm voice. Mid-range (not too high-pitched. Not too low-pitched). American accent. Character should sound like a young male.
Merchant (male):
This character has been cast.
A polite, yet busy man in his late fifties who speaks in a calm, even-paced tone of voice. American accent.
Cobra Snake (male):
This character has been cast.
A slippery and sly sounding male voice; speaks with hissing S's.
Seagull (male or female):
This character has been cast.
A scratchy voice, that borders on annoying. An impersonation of Iago from Disney's Aladdin (or something similar) would work well. American accent.
Viper Snake (female):
This character has been cast.
A seductive female voice with a low tone; a femme fatale who speaks with hissing S's.
Dog (male):
This character has been cast.
Typical dog-like voice required. A bit slow and lethargic. A somewhat deep voice would be quite well-suited to this role. Could sound sort of like Goofy, but with less of a comedic twist. Character should sound like a middle-aged male.
Bear (male):
This character has been cast.
Could either be a Yogi Bear-like impersonation, or just a deep male voice with a southern drawl, which is typical of masculine bear characters in cartoons. The character should sound like a middle-aged male.
Thief's accomplice (male):
This character has been cast.
Similar to the above role, but with a standard American accent. Husky, deep voice. Somone you couldn't trust.
Poet (male):
This character has been cast.
Speaks with a refined British or American accent (British is prefereable). A young man with a calm and smooth voice, almost royal sounding. Yet he is troubled by something.
Siamese Cat (male):
This character has been cast.
Has a calm, calculating voice. Cold, unnerving, and heartless. Something similar to Stewie from Family Guy (though with slightly less variation in intonation) crossed with Scar from the Lion King would be perfect. Either a British accent, or an upper-class refined American accent. Character should sound like a young or middle-aged male.
Eagle (male):
This character has been cast.
A regal voice with an air of authority and self-importance. Character should sound like a middle-aged male. American accent.
Sorry about the lack of female characters! Most of the female roles have already been cast. However, the townsperson role will require a few variations of male and female versions, so ladies feel free to send an audition for that one OR the chipmunk-voice. Guys can also apply for the chipmunk one too. Oh, and if any girls think they can adequately handle any of the male roles, feel free to give it a shot. You never know!
Please send any audition samples in .mp3 or .ogg format to the following email address:
rodolfo.pty@gmail.com and let me know which characters you'll be auditioning for. Sample lines have been included beneath each character description.
Additional character and plot details will, of course, be provided to the successful applicants. Thanks everyone, and good luck!
