Project information - Pre-dating The Unicorn Academy, Ageis is a fantasy-adventure series centered around a young girl whose once-mundane life is suddenly at risk when she is attacked while working in the market of her hometown, Ageis. Perfect strangers are then sucked in to the family politics and intrigue of the Dewshine family, where innocent blood is shed, and lives are forever ruined.

Audition deadline - A script is still be written for this radio drama, so I am in no gigantic rush to make casting decisions before the end of the season. So for the time being, February 28th is the slated deadline for auditions. I know it's a bit of a ways off, but I see no harm in putting it out there to start generating interest.

Name: Adonis
Age: 18
Bio: Born in a bloodline dominated by dragons, Adonis is your typical hot-headed, passionate young man who is the first to jump at being a hero. He often takes himself more seriously than he ought to, and is very insensitive to the fragility of the female members of the cast. He is usually the butt of the jokes in the group, due to the fact that he sets himself up for ridicule with his thoughtlessness and knee-jerk reactions to everything. He is very skeptical of any new-comers who join the travelling party, and is very slow to trust.
Voice type: Medium-deep. He needs a lot of energy, and is often shouting his feelings rather than speaking them rationally.

Name: Randoruun
Age: 19
Bio: By all appearances (very, very handsome ones, at that), Randoruun is a full elf. He has great knowledge of the noble families of the region, and their history, which leads many to wonder if he is somehow loosely involved with aristocratic politics. He is the best friend of Adonis, and in every way his polar opposite. He is gentle, oft-deadpanning, and is very slow to react to things, if at all. He is a gourmet chef, and is usually the one to temper the hot emotions of his best friend.
Voice type: Medium. He is soft-spoken, but articulate. I would not be against him having some sort of European accent, but he must be deliberate and thoughtful in how he expresses himself. He speaks with warm undertones, and has a very soothing way of speaking.

Name: Arlen Mullins
Age: 35
Bio: Arlen is an oasis of stability in an otherwise insane group of youth. He is generally the peace-keeper amongst the group, and an overall optimist. Brimming with wisdom, he is generally the one there to dry the tears of the heroine, and keep her going when she wants to give up. When the pressure is too much for her, he provides her an opportunity to shirk the responsibility that she is burdened with, and allows her to be a little girl for just a little while.
Voice type: Deep and gruff. He is a strong, powerful man, and sounds far rougher than he actually is.

Name: Quinn Edwards
Age: 20
Bio: Quinn is a master swordsman and mystic, dashing and accutely self-aware. He loves women and flirting--though not necessarily in that order. In spite of his shady disposition, Quinn is genuinely a good guy, though he is rather secretive--or stupidly innocent. He is a heroic note of optimism in a vile and dangerous situation, and is usually the instigator when it comes to teasing both Adonis and Jonothan.
Voice type: Medium. Noble and clear, with a sense of self-confidence and gallantry.

Name: Jonothan Quimby
Age: 18
Bio: Living alone with his widowed mother, Jonothan Quimby is a doctor at a theraputic hot springs inn. He is the only member who was not invited to join the party, and therefore has to prove himself as an asset to the group. He has an almost-pathetic crush on the heroine, which often makes him the object of Adonis's ridicule and abuse. He was once in love with his childhood friend--and was to propose to her only to discover she was engaged to his best friend before given the chance.
Voice type: Medium-high. He is hapless and frantic, and is prone to panic attacks.

Age: Unknown
Bio: The most mysterious and crass of the group, Gray is a cold, rigid man with a blatant disregard for life. He views all species to be equally animalistic, and therefore doesn't blink with comitting the most brutal slayer acts. He is also the only member of the group that doesn't seem to notice the heroine's existence, which raises the question as to why he joined the group at all...
Voice type: Medium-deep. Gravely and gruff. He is very terse with his speech patterns, and is almost monotonous in delivery. A British accent would be acceptable, but not necessary.

Name: Kei Matheson
Age: Unknown
Bio: The sole remaining heir to the Matheson estate, Kei's family fell victim to scandal and treachery by the hands of the Dewshine family. Hell-bent on avenging his family's fall to ruin, he watches Ivy from afar, biding his time and waiting to strike at the right moment...but plans woven by those blinded by vengance never go as planned...
Voice type: High-medium. Soft-spoken and gentlemanly. He is a noble, he needs to sound like it. A British accent would be acceptable, but not necessary.

Name: Solomond Chance Demagne
Age: 16
Bio: Childhood friend of Ivy, and son and heir to the Demagne fortune. Solomond doesn't come into the picture (at least in our story) until after Ivy meets all these extraordinary young men. Naturally, Solomond feels this sudden intrusion in their families' personal affairs.
Voice type: Medium-high. Youthful and boyish. A female could play this role, if she can sound masculine enough.

Bio: One of the Matheson's servants, Manasse is sneaky, stealthlike, and a master of shadow arts. He prefers to toy with his victims and wear them down before apprehending them, and has a particular inclination towards Ivy and Quinn.
Voice type: Medium-high. Soft-spoken and illusive.

Name: Pilot
Age: Unknown
Bio: The first manservant to attack Ivy in her hometown's general store, Pilot is the most loyal of the Matheson henchmen to pursue the Dewshine heiress. He rarely questions orders, but often has to refocus his master's wavering intentions. He appears to be more interested in avenging the Matheson family name than anyone else.
Voice type: Medium. Abrasive. I would like to see some creativity in how Pilot should sound--this is an opportunity to exercise some real "character" voices. I am looking for something abnormal--almost reptilian.

Age: 21
Bio: Yamatako's squire. He is quick and precise when carrying out his duties, and unlike the majority of men his age, is impossible to distract. He is unaware of his lord being a woman, and his stoic persona quickly gives in to loud protest upon the discovery of Yamatako's true identity.
Voice type: Medium-high. Youthful and intelligent. An air of snobbishness. He is the squire to the realm's most powerful knight, and he takes this to mean that he is number two.

Age: early 40s
Bio: Yamatako's mentor. Rough and battle-weary, Nicodemus has the wisdom and prudence that Saul lacks. There is an unspoken admiration and sentimentality between Nicodemus and Yamatako, and Nicodemus is one of the few who knows her true identity.
Voice type: Deep. Sage and wise, but rough and tired.

Name: Adam Ross
Age: 19
Bio: Jonothan Quimby's best friend. While Jonothan quickly became the model of an admirable young man in his hometown, Adam was always there to keep him grounded, and was one of the few people that treated him like a friend, rather than an extention of the late Edmund Quimby. After proposing to Joy, the best and object of both young men's affections, he suffered an accident which left both legs paralyzed. Everyone, including Adam, expected the wedding to be called off--but the two persevered, and have a happy (enviable) marriage. Adam and Joy are modest, but thriving carpenters.
Voice type: Medium. Friendly, but confident. Mature for his age.

Name: Ivy Dewshine
Age: 17
Bio: The lead heroine of the series, Ivy is completely ignorant to her noble bloodlines, and carries on a normal life until she is suddenly attacked at work by a hired assassin of the Matheson family. She is unaccustomed to living an uneventful, routine life of chore and responsibility, and seems to embrace the attentions of the men protecting her a little too eagerly.
Voice type: High-medium. Solid, confident. Must be able to speak quickly and ramble frantically. Excessive crying (both comedic and dramatic) is also necessary for this role.

Bio: The adorable, yet manipulative kleptomaniac. Orphaned at a young age, Hiko was raised by a clan of slayers. An imp, Hiko appears to be much younger than he is in reality. He used this to manipulate Ivy's maternal instincts after he was caught pilfering her purse. He eventually befriends Adonis after a petty trial-by-fire. Out of all the members of the party, he probably shares the most similarity to the heroine.
Voice type: Little-boyish. Not much more to it. Must have the ability to whine in said voice.

Age: 25
Bio: Bent on revenge for the mistreatment and eventual murder of her older brother, Yamatako shed her identity as a blacksmith's daughter, and went rogue as the cursed--yet legendary--sell-sword known as the Desert Knight. Shrouded in rumors and myths, no one knows how many she has killed (if any) and just how many of those slayings were of her own will, or that of the highest bidder.
Voice type: Deep-medium. Womanly and hardened.

Bio: Graceful and matronly. Emma is the half-sister of Ivy's, born out of wed-lock to Ivy's father, she is a "bastard-child" and therefore cannot inherit the family fortune. She is to be wed to Cal Chandler, a lesser noble man at year's end, but will the marriage go smoothly when there are all these men suddenly barging into the Dewshine family affairs?
Voice type: Medium. Soft-spoken and sweet. Very demure and polite.

Bio: The sweetheart of both Jonothan Quimby and Adam Ross, Joy started working at the Quimby's inn at a young age to help with chores when Jono was sent off to school. She is very supportive of the young men in her life, and has forever been ignorant to Jonothan's unrequited love for her. Once married to Adam, Joy remained a moral compass for Jonothan, and urged him to seize the opportunity to make a difference in Ivy's life.
