Radioplay Genesis Avalon - EPISODE TWO! - 02-09-2006, 05:43 PM

Okay, Kat finally got her STUFF in order, and now, after a long slump of no creativity, I have my muses back! SO, for your enjoyment, EPISODE TWO OF GENESIS AVALON!

And from now on, the old episodes will have cast information, but the sound effects and music credits aren't going to be inclulded in this post for old episodes - cuz.... it would take forever and the thread would be huge long like whoa. SO.

Once again, I've got the link cast of the Prologue on here, then the link and cast for Episode One. I would appreciate reviews IMMENSELY... that, and... well... I'd love to build a fan base. That would just be plain awesome.

This shit is COPYRIGHTED!

HOLY CRAP! HOLY CRAP!!! ITS OUUUUUUUUUUUTT!!!! I didn't expect it so soon o.o YEY! YEY! YEY!!!!!! My fav radio play on here is back X3

Jaina Masterson/GenesisAvalon: Laura Post: Sweet, just like in the last episode. I totally love the emotion you put behind the character. And I just love the way you say things! Seriously, and its a great switch between narrating and character.

Bobby Carson: Wicked5: You did a good job on voice acting ^^ your emotion and voice were very fitting. I really liked the voice you used for him.

Julian Alexander: Hisoka: Nice. I liked how your voiced the character. It felt very fitting. The only problem is I feel that you were a bit lacking in emotions... I dont know, maybe its just the fact that i am used to lots of emotion from characters, or a distinct personality that really shows. But despite that, I still loved the job you did ^^

Martin Alver: Matt Alan: Hehe, your voice always catches me off guard. I never know when its coming and if I didnt have the key here, I probably wouldn't have guessed it was you. You did a great job on this one! I cant really describe the characters attitude at this scene, but I felt you did a great job protraying it! I could really feel it ^^

Tanya Laramie: Tris-chan: Nice job on this character. I liked some of the emotions I heard and it felt rather real. And I like your voice for this character as well ^^

Noir: Hawkeye_GGK: Once again I really like your Noir ^^ VERY fitting and the emotion seemed just right. I just really enjoy your voice alot X3 great job on this character!

Demon: Matt Alan: Hehe, i like your demon voice X3 very fitting. Though there isnt really much to critque >.>

Assara Templari: Genesis Avalon: As always I love your voice. Your voice fits Genesis nicely and its a great contrast to Jaina. I loved how you play this character X3 your character seems powerful and strong, yet still has some heart. Which I feel you showed very nicely!

Lilith: AetherNyte: Hehe, sounding very threating ^^. I loved your emotions. And you played the roll very well! Everything seemed very fitting and appropriate to what was going on ^^

Cop: ClymAngus: Sounds much like a cop alright! Though it was a bit lacking in emotion... still good! And a great voice for a cop ^^

Mixing: I think its even better than the last one! Great job mixing it!!--Still so much better than me X3 hehehe. No complaints here ^^

Yet again, I loved the story! I just wonder whats gonna happen next ^________^ keep up the good work! And I DEFINATELY look forward to the next installment! Been waiting a while for this one and it was worth it ^_~

Great job everyone! From mixing to voices it was awesome! Definately my fav radioplay here X3

EXCELLENT radioplay; this has to be one of my favorites that I've heard so far. The cast did a superb job, adding the right emotion when it was necessary. I loved the music selection as well. It fit the mood of the plot perfectly. Mixing was great too. All in all, great work on this, and I look forward to episode three!

Jaina Masterson/GenesisAvalon: Laura Post: well if it's Laura doing it then you know it's going to be good. Seriously though, excellent delivery.
Bobby Carson: Wicked5: Small but a well performed part.
Julian Alexander: Hisoka: Lot of variation in this character, got to react to a lot of people in a lot of different ways. Challenging when you've only got a script to work to. Well done.
Martin Alver: Matt Alan: Cocky, annoying, very well played.
Tanya Laramie: Tris-chan: Even down a phone line nice timing. You really brought the gambit of emotion across.
Noir: Hawkeye_GGK: Mmmm, still not entirely convinced by your Panther persona. Personally I didn't see what was wrong with your standard voice. It sounded good for both roles.
Demon: Matt Alan: Twice in one episode, greedy!
Assara Templari: Genesis Avalon: Many a great writer is killed by their own creations, I know I have been. Several times.
Lilith: AetherNyte: Mmmm the echo made it difficult to understand the lines also it was a little basey? Probably a mic thing. Acting was good though.
Cop: ClymAngus: Oooo I really can't do that accent very well. I was concentrating on it so hard I forgot to act o.O

Oooo meaty arm break. All in all very good, I would say that maybe with a little light mixing of relative voice levels it could be even better but this is more personal preference than anything else. Well done!

Re: Genesis Avalon - EPISODE TWO! - 02-10-2006, 04:09 PM

Review:

Jaina Masterson/Genesis Avalon - Laura Post - The first line DRIVES ME UP THE WALL. Everything else was fine, though you should watch clipping when you record those shouting lines, the clipping was pretty obvious.

Bobby Carson: Wicked5 - Good job, I loved the sort of "someone's in trouble...." tone to your voice.

Julian Alexander: Hisoka - Just as a general comment, I think you could go farther in your acting decisions. Not that your acting is bad, or that your performance was unenjoyable, but I think you could do even better. ^^

Martin Alver: Matt Alan - You sounded like a big prick. Good job.

Tanya Laramie: Tris-chan - from reading the script, I thought Tanya would sound a little bit bitchier after Julian brought up Avalon, but it still worked. Good job. ^^

Noir: Hawkeye_GGK - Noir, you just keep getting better every episode. That's really all I can say. Nice performance.

Demon: Matt Alan - Now you sound like a demonic prick. lol good job.

Assara Templari: Genesis Avalon

Lilith: AetherNyte - I loved your performance, though I dunno if it was your sampling rate or the rate at which the scene was sampled really put a damper on the whole thing, literally. Still, excellent job.

Cop: ClymAngus - Not much to base a critique on, but you're always cool.

Mixing: The mixing improves with each episode GenesisAvalon ^_^. The scene with Assara and Lillith though, Did you check what sampling rate you saved that scene in? Because it sounds like it wasn't just that everyone's lines are not the best quality, but that the scene was mixed down and then saved in a low-quality format. That scene really stood out, detracting from the overall mix. But still, a really great job. I can't wait to hear more.

Re: Genesis Avalon - EPISODE TWO! - 02-12-2006, 11:07 PM

Jaina/Avalon: Laura Post - Your voice sounded a bit higher in this episode... or maybe it's just me. But excellent as always.

Bobby Carson: Wicked5 - Very natural. Nice job.

Julian Alexander: Hisoka - I think Laura should throw me off a building. Julian sounded better in episode one. Will have to make some improvements.

Martin Alver: Matt Alan - Nice job.

Tanya Laramie: Tris-chan - Very natural and very cute. Why Julian is not chasing Tanya all over town is beyond me.

Noir: Hawkeye_GGK - I agree with Clym -- the little cat voice works just fine for the big cat.

Assara Templari: Genesis Avalon

Lilith: AetherNyte - Nice job, i think. Difficult to hear, though.

Cop: ClymAngus - very professionalish job.

Re: Genesis Avalon - EPISODE TWO! - 02-13-2006, 12:41 AM

Yay!!! Finally no interruptions and I got to listen in full!!

Yay for another ep in what remains one of my very favorite radio plays ever! So exciting. The story never gets old. I think you're pacing it really well.

I think the mixing ended up really good. I agree with others, there were times where I wasn't always able to hear Lilith's lines clearly through the echo, but that was very minimal. I love the sound effects during the action scenes. The fact that I can feel like I'm there, without being able to see anything, really means something.
Also, I really like whatever effects you put in Tanya's phone call. That sound just like a phone conversation.

Also great music choices once again. I only notice them long enough to know that I like them, and then I'm totally pulled back into the story, and I think that's the way it's supposed to be.

Heh, was "a few fries short of a happy meal" something you came up with on your own? That's hilarious.
Another line I really, really liked, was the dialogue about "well the bad news is... what's the good news? - that you never get used to it." I just really, really liked that exchange.

Great job again, and I'm looking really foward to the next one! (guess I should get my lines in. )

Acting:

Jaina/Avalon - Great performance once again. My two favorite parts are kinda polar opposites. I love the scene where you're talking to your mother. The emotion there just kills me. And on the complete other end of the emotional spectrum, I love how into fighting the demons you get. The "Time to die!" line was great. The remorse after that scene was also really well played. Great job.

Bobby Carson - Loved your opening line. I think you really play the part of the care-free coworker very well.

Julian - There are a few times, where you could use more emotion, especially in scenes where you're really annoyed, or really determined. Don't be afraid to really go all out. You're going to be great. Oh, but I loved that scene after you saw Avalon kill the demon. Your reaction was PERFECT. I really love Julian's "every day" sort of scenes. I love the personality your voice has given this character. As it stands, I think Julian is my favorite character.

Martin Alver - One thing I really liked about your performance was how convincing you sounded when you were having that one-sided phone conversation. I just thought that was really well played. Also loved the attitude you gave the character.

Tanya - I thought you sounded very convincing having a simple, casual conversation. Sometimes that's hard to do when acting; it's easy to make it more than it is. So good job with that. I also liked your reaction to Julian's story idea. Good job.

Noir - I like the deeper voice you use as panther Noir. Not a big part in this ep, really, but liked what I heard. Can't wait to hear kitty more soon.

Demon - Great, evil sounding voice. Very convincing.

Assara - You sounded so badass! And so convincing when struggling and in pain. You left me going, "meep! noo!! poor Assara!"

Lilith - The one word that kept popping into my head when thinking about your performance was "twisted." You made this character sound really sexy and warped. I like.

Cop - Not too much to say, but you sounded very convincing as a cop. Very clear too.

Good job to all of the cast, and good job to Genesis Avalon making me want the next chapter soooooooon!!!!
