  1. #1 Looking for Writers of all Kinds for a Different Kind of Radio Show!
    I run the website http://www.strangecompany.net
Currently we are small but I've been trying to get the word out about the shows hosted on it for a while now.
Unfortunately it is a little hard to keep people interested since we only have 2 seasons of one show.
I am hoping to change that. I'm starting a new show called "Stray Dogs" which will be a series of one off episodes. Each episode will be between 5-12 minutes long and voiced by a group of dedicated actors.
Writers this is where I need you:
I have a lot of ideas but I think that this is the kind of show that would really shine if there were an assortment of writers. All you'd have to do is send in episodes. I'll cast the voices (if you have a specific voice actor/actress in mind that is fine) and mix the shows. You can sit back and do the writing you want to do without all the hassel of the rest!

Would anyone out there be interested in a project like this?

Oh and because these are good questions:

1)Are you looking for a particular genre of stories?
I'm looking for stories that can be told in a 5-12 minute long show. One off stories with original characters. Think of it like those old cartoon network shows that had single episodes of cartoons that didn't have a series of their own. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random!_Cartoons

    2) Do you want us to write out actual stories or just "scripts" of stories?
Scripts please. I write a podcast series of my own and don't have time to convert stories to scripts without being hired to do so.

    3) Are there any requirements that we have to meet in order to join?
Love to write, know how to create an audio podcast script. Patience as I gather writers together and audition our cache of actors and actresses.

    4) How often would you need us to send in episode ideas; every week? bi-weekly? every month??
It depends. I think at the moment I am up for mixing 2 shows a month, if other people would like to share the responsibility of mixing and casting (and posting) with me then we could get a faster rotation going.

As a general rule dedicated sites are most active in their most dedicated section.

This is a VA forum. Hence barely anyone here cares for the writing section. But yes this indeed takes my interest.

I'm guessing stray dogs is a sort of satirical social commentary (like avenue q) or just a rag tag plethora of anything? Just getting an idea on how I'm meant to be approaching this.

Stray Dogs is slang among me and my writer friends for those stories that just don't have homes.
I want to have a bunch of one offs, maybe those stories we want to write but can't make an entire series of. So it will be a little of everything. I'm open to all ideas. Maybe you have something that you couldn't make into an entire series but have one or two episodes or a mini series... all of it.

    This comment.

I would like some more detail before I considered.

I'm would be most definitely interested. I usually do voice acting, but which have I more experience in, writing. I've written novels and screenplays (of course, they just sit around my computer though). I've never written a audio podcast but I'm quite sure it's much like how a film script would be written and I'll adapt to it very easily. I can also write a script for a comic book too (just putting that out there). I have tons of ideas lying around in my head that I wish to write but have nothing much to do with...But now, I've found something to do with them.
I didn't fall. The floor just needed a hug.
