^ My second demo reel. I tried my best to avoid distortion, and to keep it short, showing a variety of range and emotion. I feel I could add more, but then it'd be too long. Per a nice critique from a friend, I didn't use music this time so the focus would be solely on my voice and delivery, which is fine since I am still working on my mixing skills and wouldn't want unwanted background noise to drown it out. Constructive critique is always welcome. Hope you enjoy ^.^

Woo let's see what I can help out with.

    1. I would try and remove all the background noise, even if it makes your voice sound more hollow it's better than leaving it in as it's a bit distracting.

    2. I think putting some music in would be beneficial, not that it's required but unless you have a very professional sounding mic it's probably best to leave some in.

    3. The scripting could use a bit more originality. All of the lines seem kinda generic and don't really reflect unique characters (which in turn doesn't really allow you to show as much
acting potential as you might possess). If it helps you might want to listen to some demo's on voicebank and see what kind of lines they script. It's just best to make the line sound as interesting as possible (a few generic lines are ok too).

    4. I think you're holding yourself back ever so slightly when you act. Just seems that you're not allowing yourself to be as strong or as free as you could be. Projecting the voice and giving as much energy as you can depending on the character can make all the difference. It seems on voices like your 4th one in you come across a bit stiff, make sure you relax a bit even when using a big bold voice. Though don't get me wrong, the majority of your emotions were believable it's just a matter of letting yourself being more relaxed and free.

    5. Remember to make use of inflections. Like in number 1, if you just say it all at the same speed and same pitch it can come off rather dry. You could have gotten a bit quieter when you got to "is that what this feeling is?" or even have raised her voice and made her sound more embarassed. Though I will say the clarity of all your lines was there and the diction was overall good.

Anyways just some things to work on for the future and to think about when you act, hopefully that helps~

Thank you very much for that insightful critique! I will be sure to do much better the next time around. Very useful tips and advice, I really appreciate it ^.^

Yeah, I mainly sort of held back due to the fact that I was scared to distort (like my previous demo reel), and did several takes, and after awhile, it gets a little try. Next time I will give it MY ALL!
