I've been itching to get some content from the latest film I (co-)scored into a demo reel for quite a while. This particular demo reel is as of this summer and contains the 3 productions I have/am score(-ing).

All content in this reel was used with permission by the said producers.

    1) The Fellows Hip: Rise of the Gamers (completed)- feature-length comedy directed by Ron Newcomb and produced by Opening Act Productions. The movie itself is like the film "Fanboys", only with cleaner humor and based upon the "Lord of the Rings: Online" MMORPG (the film was also supported by Turbine, the company behind LotRO). The film itself was scored by Dale Clay and George R. Powell (me), although only my cues are featured in this reel.

    2) Skynetessa: Steampunk Audio Adventure (in-progress)- episodic multi-media audio play (an audio play with a visual flare that enchances the experience) created, written, produced, and directed by George R. Powell (me). It is to be 18 episodes (which are already written, and span out to about 166 pages of screenplay total), and only 4 episodes are so far completed. These episodes can be streamed on the official Skynetessa website.

    3) Eve of October OVA 2 (in progress)- The second installment to the Eve of October animated series by Studio Mars, produced and directed by Mars R. Marshall. The story is that of a dark Sci-Fi/Fantasy animated completely within Anime Studio. Original Music Score (for both OVAs 1 & 2) by George R. Powell (me).

This is great music! Enjoyed it a lot!
How long have you been composing and what music packs have you used for these pieces? =D
    My projects - click pictures!
    The Stranger: Episode 4 up
    DMC3 full Fandub: Completed!

Due to technical difficulties it's unknown when Switch will come out. The creators are working on it in their free time.

    Thank you, everyone! =)

@ Crystine: I've been composing for 17 years (started when I was 13), but I've only been doing film/game/stage composing for about 10 years. I use Steinberg's Nuendo (which is an all-in-one audio suite) which I spent almost an entire student loan disbursement on, only because I was trained in that software first by the person who introduced me to studio software. As far as VSTs go, I use a combination of Vienna Symphonic Library (which the version I have is very old, hence why it was less painful to acquire), Edirol Orchestral, and EastWest Symphonic Orchestra.

Most of what I know, technique-wise, comes from just doing this for many years. Only 2 of those years did I spend actually self-studying orchestration; I was original trained as a classical pianist since age 4.

As is probably evident, I am a big fan of James Newton Howard and John Williams, which are the two composers I mainly studied the techniques of. However, having been heavily into anime in my late teens/early 20s, I've had a lot of influence from Japanese composers like Yoko Kanno/Hajime Mizoguchi as well.

@ Tainted: It actually takes me, on average anywhere from 3-8 hours to compose a 2-minute cue depending on its complexity. The Skynetessa Theme itself is about a minute long and took me around 3-4 hours to compose, mostly because the entire piece is a tutti, in essence.

Thank you both for the feedback.
