Heyo, Sammichish reporting in.
So, a little about me: I've always been a huge fan of animated works of all kinds, and knew that I'd like to be a part of their production from a fairly early age. I'm naturally pretty artistically inclined, so I figured animation would be the best route. Fast forward to today, and I'm a fourth year 3d animation student, graduating from my university this fall. After spending countless long nights in the labs and not getting nearly the satisfaction from it that I thought I would at this point, I'm realizing that I don't think i'm quite passionate about the field as I thought I was before.
Voice acting has always seemed just as appealing to me, though, if not more, but the only reasons I've strayed away from it is because it seems like the work can be relatively unstable, and there's no concrete way to break into the field, as there is with animation. I've been poking around the forums here a bit, and so far I've learned a couple things. For one, that this wont be an easy field either, but, on the whole, veteran voice actors seem a lot more happy with their line of work than veteran animators. Secondly, I've learned that acting is the best way to learn the skills required to be successful. I've enrolled in an acting class for my final elective slot, so here's seeing how far that'll get me.
tl;dr- Animation bad, voice acting good, happy to be here![]()
