How long did it take you to get your first voice acting work

I got cast in fan role as soon as I started auditioning. First professional role 3 years later, so yeah just gotta be patient and build up those skills slowly.

I grew up in a radio station... So I have been voicing radio ads since I was in elementary school. Last summer, I was invited to voice act for a Korean radio station to read some audio books for them (I was in SK at the time). I joined VAA a few months ago and have been cast a few times since... yup... So I guess it took me a few weeks... still waiting to hear how those projects turned out though...

I'm new to the board.
I notice a lot of people talk about doing VA but everyone seems to be talking about anime fan dubs and other such things....

Does anyone else do original VA for cartoons, commercials, anything like that?
Maybe this isn't the right thread but people are talking about their work here which got me wondering.
