Bolie 2012 Demo Reel

So this is my first attempt demo reel here on the VAA, this particular reel is just me testing the waters. I'm pretty sure that I should have focused on emotions more, but I can update it once I'm settled in here and feel more comfortable in what I'm doing. ^^'

Thank you very much! I don't think I'm quite looking forward to doing a bigger one anytime soon though (I can't script this kind of thing to save my life).

You have very good quality and a beautiful voice! It's just a bit obvious that you're still hesitant. I know that you already know that, so it's just something to keep working on.

1: Really good. The sound effect is too loud but I could still understand you.
2 & 3: Both sound unsure, like you don't know what emotion to portray.
4: Good but you definitely need more energy here.
5: Ends a little flat but other than that, very good delivery. Is the "from the very day we met..." supposed to be the same character or not? It sounds different but not different enough to work as another character in the same scene.
6: I like this voice, a little timid and even "nerdy".
7: I like both the lower and the high voice a lot. They could be more distinguishable, perhaps it's because both voices are soft (come from the same place, if that makes any sense, like the way you produce them is the same). Experiment more with not only pitches but also sharpness.
8: Pretty good. I'm not sure if you were going for sad/melancholy because it sounds more dazed than anything. Love the hint of weakness in the voice, that kind of thing works wonders in lines like these.

Random, but I love the picture! I don't know where it's from or anything, I just think it's pretty, haha. It shouldn't matter but still, a nice touch.

I suggest making your next demo 10 seconds longer if you can. The important thing, of course, is to showcase your different voices and emotions the best you can. No need to rush, of course. Just keep practicing and having fun. I look forward to hearing you more!
