IRON HORSE and the RESCUE IN THE RAILS
When one of his intelligence sources on the streets of Serpent City goes missing Iron Horse rescues him but with the Terminal Tempest hitting the city who will rescue Iron Horse?
IRON HORSE │ The Character
Iron Horse is the protagonist of the piece. Ex soldier, Ex military police officer, current soldier of fortune who's been labeled as a "costumed adventurer" by the media even though he really doesn't have much of a costume. The Motorcycle on the other hand is custom made with lots of personal upgrades which he's done him self (like Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon). Iron Horse rides the bike as if its an extension of him self, his greatest weapon/tool.
IRON HORSE │ The Voice
MALE - Mid to late 40's with a slight east coast accent. He's road weary, been there, done that, seen it all in life. He's trying to atone for some things in his past. Lots of guilt. MODERATE SIZED ROLE
IH Audition line 1
“The Air Marshals are willing to let you testify for immunity but even if you don’t make it through this Sparky the information in that briefcase will be responsible for dozens of years of prison time for many people.”
IH Audition line 2
“To put it another way the briefcase is a valuable negotiating tool while your corpse is nothing more than a statistic Sparky.”
JACK-KNIFE │The Character
Knife is the leader of the criminal street crew operating in Serpent City. He's cunning and definitely the leader. He always makes sure of that by choosing the members of his crew very carefully. Most have been with him for years.
JACK-KNIFE│The Voice
MALE - Early to mid thirties. British accent, but a light one. A very suave debonair character who always has everything under control. Think of him like A 007 from MI6 who's now gone rouge and works for him self. MODERATE SIZED ROLE
JK Audition line 1
"Macallister's got something big coming in Sparky."
RATCHET │ The Character
Ratchet is the wheel man and mechanic. He's not a leader, he's a follower. He's been with Jack Knife forever. If Jack Knife wanted to stop pulling jobs and sell flowers on the pier then Ratchet would go with him.
RATCHET │ The Voice
MALE - Early thirties with a muddy, gutter, wrong side of the tracks British accent. SMALL SIZED ROLE
RT Audition line 1
"You ain't said squat yet Spark."
SPARK "SPARKY" PLUG │ The Character
Sparky is the intelligence source and a total whiner/wimp without any dynamite or a grenades.
SPARKPLUG │ The Voice
MALE - 30s, a bit nasal and whiny.
MODERATE SIZED ROLE
SP Audition line1
"I've told you everything I know Knife, Jesus man."
SP Audition Line 2
"Talk to who Knife? You know I don't likes no people others than you. I don't never talk to know one."
NARRATOR │ The Voice
I'm open to pretty much anything here. I'm just looking for distinctive. In my head, when I wrote the story, it's a male but a distinctive female voice wouldn't be bad either.
LARGE SIZE ROLE
Audition lines 1
"In quick succession Iron Horse used the kick start to bring to life the monstrous engine custom tricycle he sat atop, he shot out the light hanging from the ceiling, blasted the room with the intense head lights that looked like haunted eyes of a hideous beast mounted on the front of his bike, and bore down on the men in the room before him by motoring the bike forward at a reckless speed"
COMMANDER "Geoffrey" KNIGHT │ The Character
Commander Geoffrey Knight is the president and field commander of Knight Incorporate which possesses a special charter with the U.S. government to provide safety and security to all citizens of the United States. Geoffrey was born, bred, and raised to take the reigns of the organization his father built on his eighteenth birthday. Brilliant, he did so with two degrees under his belt. Commander Knight is an African American man built like a Mountain who prizes peace but will not shy away from war. Today the Commander leads the special operations division of Knight Inc. leaving the standardized day to day operations in the hands of the Bishops, Knights, and pawns within the organization.
NOTE: This role should be treated like a celebrity cameo as in Serpent City The Commander and Knight Inc would be like Superman to Iron Horse's Blue Beetle.
COMMANDER KNIGHT │ The Voice
MALE - Intermediate middle age. General American Accent of an indeterminate middle American origin. His voice is DEEP, but not menacing. You can hear that he's taken great care to speak to people with a voice he's learned to shave the rough edges off of over the last couple of decades.
CK Audition Line 1
We could use your help with this storm.
CK Audition Line 2
What I need right now is more people like you Iron Horse. It’s up to you of course but if you’ll join me and some of your compatriots in the Knight Inc. penthouse my people can explain the crazy nature of this... Terminal Tempest. If we all put our heads together, we can beat it, I know we can.
KNIGHT INCORPORATED STAFFER │ The Character
A 'Pawn' within Knight Inc. she's doing what she's always wanted to do, climbing a very particular occupational ladder, and helping to save the world every day.
KNIGHT STAFFER │ The Voice
Female - A bit militaristic in the chain of command.
KS Audition Line 1
The Commander has issued you and your charge quarters on the sixth floor. It’s a floor above the refugee dormitory and you both will be quite safe from the storm there.
Special Notice:
"Upon delving further into the production of Iron Horse it's been determined that Iron Horse will in fact be a narrative reading enhanced by a voice cast filled with six primary characters and one incidental character. The narrator being the largest role".
