Howdy, everypeoples. I'm currently looking for voice actors to partake in a little fan project of mine. The project, in this case, is an audio adaptation of Kan Gao and Freebird Game's "To The Moon", the story of two doctors who travel through the memories of a dying man in order to help him fulfill his final wish before he dies.
WARNING: This will be a long term project.
The game is 6 hours long, and mostly dialogue. The audio project will be released episodically, and many, many more voices will be needed down the line, with auditions to be held as the parts come up. The current list is all the casting that'll be needed for the first episode or two.
For the auditions, send in a recording of each line, done 3 times in varying manners, as a .wav or .mp3. Lable them as "CharacterName_YourName_#Line" (i.e., DrNeilWatts_ThatCanadianDude_01) and send them, in a .zip folder, to c.watt@telus.net.
As a heads up, I myself will be auditioning for some roles as well, but it will be my associate director who makes the final call and who gets what. I thought I'd be fair and mention this.
Auditions End on August 10th.
Dr. Eva Rosalene (Female, Mid-20’s, Middle Voice)
A no-nonsense memory expert, Dr. Rosalene is the voice of reason between herself and Dr. Watts. She tends to be straight to the point, but is not afraid to show a bit of emotion when the call arises. While she prefers to stick to her job with the utmost professionalism, she is willing, on occasion, to loosen up and have fun.
(Attempting to roleplay) “Your, uh, time is at an end, Squirrel-gon!”
“Those kids are pretty good for their age.”
(Sarcastic) “If you come and give me a tour of the house at this instance, I won’t sneeze on it.”
Dr. Neil Watts (Male, Mid-20’s, Mid-High Voice)
A sarcastic and abrasive jokester, Dr. Watts plays general comic relief. He enjoys pop-culture and has no qualms about resetting memories if things aren’t going well. Despite this and his desire to seem unemotionally involved, he genuinely cares about the patients he works on and is willing to risk his life and his career to help them.
(Boisterously) “Dr. Von Matterhorn.... Dr. STIRLING Von Matterhorn!”
(Defensively) “Well excuse me for heroically evading that squirrel coming out of nowhere!”
(Apprehensive) “Look, if it’s a kid we’re dealing with, I don’t think we’re the ones you want...”
Lily (Female, Early-30’s, Middle Voice)
Johnny(The dying man)’s personal caretaker. Lives in the house with her two children, Sarah and Tommy. Very kind and polite, she puts on a cheery face to cover the sadness of losing Johnny.
(Warmly) “Dr. Watts and Dr. Rosalene, I presume?”
“It’s not exactly a Nine-to-Five job, so Johnny lets us live here.”
(Apprehensive) “Are you sure a common household power outlet is enough?”
Sarah (Female, Child, Mid-High Child)
Lily’s daughter. General the more in command of herself and Tommy.
“Whatever, you get the boring two notes anyway.”
“Tommy’s a super powerful knight, and I’m a mighty magician!”
“Stop! Or we’ll tell ma you abuse animals!”
Tommy (Male, Child, Middle Child)
Lily’s son. Hates turtles, apparently.
“We want... one trillion dollars!”
(Scared) “... I don’t like that funny room...”
“My novelty beach ball! Somebody broke it!"
Medical Doctor (Male, Mid-40’s, Mid-Low)
The medical doctor attending Johnny. Professional, and somewhat solemn.
“He’s unresponsive, but he seems to still be consciously hanging on.”
“If I were to say, he’s got just a day or two left.”
Mystery Voice (Female, Child, Mid-Low-Children’s)
A quiet, semi-monotone, but whistful voice. WARNING! This voice comes back later. If you do this one line, we will call you back MUCH MUCH LATER down the line for more.
“I’ve never told anyone, but... I always thought they were lighthouses.”
Thank you, and looking forward to your auditions.
