Just a quick scene I did a couple of days back! Voice acting after a long time! Critiques would be helpful!

    Rapunzel - Voiced by me
    Eugene - Original voice
SFX and Video - Original used
    Mixing - me

    Thanks!

I think you may need to re-upload, seems like the video slowed down and is making the voices all big and sluggish.

voice could use some work because it just doesn't fit the character that much. but the singing on the other hand is perfect. then again, I never liked this film that much. I do like this dub. work's out good in some area's, but i think it's also on the personal taste. keep it up.

Thanks for the honest critique! I decided to do this scene in my own voice instead of copying the original. Guess, it didn't work out! Anyways, it'll also be helpful if anyone could critique me on my accent, enunciation, speed etc.. (I recently found out I have an accent.. D: So, I have tried to work on that..)

Nice! This will just be random thoughts.

Your "sorry" sounded annoyed. I like your singing a lot. I think there were times (at least "Forever, I guess?") when you spoke lower or more like a certain undertone took over. The enunciation in the line "Mother said when I was a baby, people tried to cut it. They wanted it for themselves." could have been better, I didn't catch everything you said the first time I listened to it. When you said "We wouldn't want that," the want sounded odd because there was no hint of a t. The laughs sound really fake, even when it's supposed to be awkward and all, it sounds kind of tired and condescending.

I actually liked your take on Rapunzel but there was a bit of a problem with consistency. Your last line before the laugh at the very end, however, was fantastic.

In any case, experimenting is good.

"A review a day keeps the trolls at bay." - Me

    Review 004
One thing I noticed kinda quickly is that your voice has more of a husky quality to it, so the pitch is kind of low for this kind of regal, yet youthful princess type character. And correct me if I'm wrong but is there some kind of accent creeping in? I wanna say Portuguese or something, but I'm far from truly learned on this kind of thing. So the voice qualities are not exactly a match made in heaven for the prototypical Disney princess. The acting was a commendable effort, though, I felt a very humbling sense of sincerity, very convincing of someone who's spilling her deepest, most heavily guarded secret. And I always have to give props to people who can use original voices in their dubs. The transitions were mostly seamless, so it was a great job creating the illusion that it was you in the film all along instead of Ms. Moore.

Thanks for the critique hurricanekid! And yes, now that I listen to it after a couple of weeks, I'm able to trace an accent (probably Indian, due to my Indian origin) in some of my lines too.. I have been told to work on my accent before and I sure am working on it presently! And for some reason, I couldn't imitate Ms Moore's voice, so I decided to go with my own natural tone of voice!
