ok, I have a problem with finding an end to the book i have, there one part in the ending area where i dont know how it should end, theres two ideas going through my head and i need opinions here
ending one
(main character) James is running to intercept ( 2nd Main bad guy Character) Kelly from getting away, heres the twist, Kelly has a girl named Larissa (Main characters GF) with her using her as a sheild. now Larissa has importent info to tell James. How i have this ending, end is this,
setting- helicopter landing pad that hangs over a cliff at the bottom of the cliff is rainforest
how it ends- James is pointing a weapon, Kelly has a gun pointed at Larissa, James is taking aim when a Bad guy helicopter flys out of no where and open fires on James, He jumps out of the line of fire. Kelly Escapes, and Larissa recieves a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Larissa unable to remain alive for much longer tells James he has a son, and that to save the world he must go to a Torrential Rain base were Importent information is located. she dies a short time later.
what does this mean- well by my thinking on this ending, it provides me with a more viable nemisis. Kelly the women who shot James's love is now the soul drive James has for saving the world, and her final words telling him he has a son. this also would open up in later books, opening up the woman Kelly's history being effectivly explored with some actual reason to. also the death of Larissa would give people reading the book reason to hate the group Torrential Rain. also in later books it would diney James the accsess to Larissa's smarts and knowloudge on the bad guys.
ending two.
same thing happens but this time James is able to shoot her in the shoulder, Larissa ducks as the Helicopter flys up and shoots at James, Kelly still escapes.
meanings- James gets the information explained to him in richer detail that just the words 'Torrential Rain, Costa Rica, you have a son james,' that would be writen in the 1st ending. KElly is still an enemy but still doesnt have the amount of hate that she would get if Larissa did die, James still have drive, but his actions would still be judged instead of the extreame of his actions being judged, he would have some simpathy from the reader, now that Larissa is alive His actions cant be excused off of grief of her loss. now Larissa is safe she can help james even more in stopping the threats of Voice and Torrential rain.
differents- one ending has Larissa die now, rather than later, an early death would lead to things are not being explained why things have to be done. rather the early death is keeping everything a mystory, why they go here, why do that. a later death would mean the intial parts of the next book is explained better than if it was a early death.
i know i sound like i have this all figured out, but in reality i dont, both ending are good, both endings have potential on starting out the next book, only diffrence is i have to make sure Larissa's character is cared about if i have a early death. if i have a later death, i would have more time to get her character in.
so what do you think? honest thoughts hope i explained it well
