Theta is a Halo: Reach Machinima series following a motley team working for the BIPD (Bureau of Interplanetary Policing and Detection) on planet Youth, the only planet left to humanity after an alien empire called the Razon swamped all other planets in a savage war. Now, 26 years later, after a devastating encounter with a stranded legion of Razon, Theta Team struggles to locate them before their next strike. But their search is hindered by new management, the domineering and elitist CDHP (Confederation for the Defense of Human Planets), who withold all new information as "classified". But Theta isn't out of commission yet.

It's been a long time, and the absence of most of our primary voice actors has made continuing the series difficult. But that won't stop us from expanding this universe we created. We have new scripts prepared and new footage filmed, all we need to continue the series is new voice talent. With your help, we can revive Theta, releasing episodes on a regular basis for our fans.

How to Audition:
-- Make sure not to pick up noises or bumps while recording. Only your voice should be heard in your audition.
-- Record in MP3 192 kpbs, but we can convert other formats if absolutely necessary.

Jean Jaeger
Age: Adult, late twenties
Jean's intelligence has always resulted in the pressure to conform to the role of scientist-- the person behind the scenes, supervising from a distance. But Jean is not one to be ignored or shoved aside. A rebel at heart, she quit her technological studies to join the BIPD and climb its ranks with the ultimate goal of gaining a position from which she can make a difference. Although she can be friendly-- as she is with the newbie, Joseph-- competition and challenges can sometimes spark her independence into something more reckless and ruthless, driving others away. Despite this, her quick understanding and techno smarts make her one of the most valuable members of Theta-- and when the Razon arrive, she's the only one who's really up for the challenge of protecting their planet. But without learning to work with her team and earn their support, her passion and drive might burn her up, if being on the front lines doesn't get to her first.
Voice: medium, a little husky, businesslike, authoritative, harsh when irritated.

Vanessa Sayder
Age: Adult, late thirties-mid forties
The bad-ass mother (literally) in charge of the BIPD department. A survivor of the Human-Razon war and early settler on Youth, she tries her best to motivate her underpaid, underfunded teams with warmth and understanding, while also using her wit and diplomatic savvy to keep the CDHP off their backs. But facing a small legion of ruthless aliens wasn't quite what she had in mind when she climbed the ranks, especially now that she'll have to deal with them from behind a desk.
Voice: medium to low, smooth, diplomatic, a little weary but still game.

-- "Our satellites picked possible radiation bursts above what we think is a science station, as well as some odd gravitational readings our backroom boys couldn't fathom."
-- "I was there you know, when we first landed on this planet. There was a kind of thrill to it you know? The thrill of a new frontier, starting over. And at the time I thought, maybe this time we'll get things right... that didn't happen of course."
-- "You are to do your job at patrolling the Uncharted Zone under the CDHP's jurisdiction. No getting caught up in the CDHP's politics, and no engaging the Razon threat. I'm sorry. But our part is over."
Jak'ra (F)
One of the Razon twins, two highly trained noble warriors that fight in eerie sync, from a noble culture called the Xar'val, the least savage and most civilized of the Razon. Although females fight as equals alongside males in the Xar'val army, she and her brother are the only Xar'val on Youth. Thus, as the only female Razon, she can't afford to stick out by joining her brother in questioning the point of wiping out the last of the humans--at least, not yet. Instead she focuses on carrying out missions quickly and ruthlessly, suppressing her curiosity and independent nature in favor of ending the war and going home.
Voice: Deep, more refined than other Razon, but nevertheless rather gruff.

-- "Leave reconnaissance for those that can lurk unseen."
-- "Why did you not side with me!? Every time I stand down, it's a sign of weakness to them. They are not like us!"
-- "They resent us for that. How long, do you think, will that resentment simmer, until it boils over? We're far from civilization. And most Razon were never civilized to begin with."
*Note that Jak'ra, despite being recasted, has not recorded any lines, so the role is a bit more open to interpretation.
Main Male Roles:
Joseph Benson
Age: Young adult, mid twenties
Joseph is the young new medic and marksman of Theta. Both utilize his gift and curse of a cybernetic eye, which has often isolated him, making him socially awkward and unsure of how to relate to others, despite his desire to serve and protect. He joined Theta thinking he would get the chance to explore the planet's uncharted regions and make a difference there. He didn't expect to be greeted so roughly by his new team, whose idea of an "orientation" meant behaving even more rambunctiously than usual, taking every opportunity to rub in how out of his element he is on the field. Yet no orientation could have prepared him for the arrival of the band of Razon, whose cruelty shake him so badly that his commander gives him the option of resigning. But, although Joseph is not a believer, and he feels completely unqualified to be a hero, something tells him he can't leave. Not yet.
Voice: medium, formal, slightly awkward, thoughtful, sometimes deadpan.

We may not be heroes but... somebodys got to do their job. I mean what kind of world would it be if everyone found themselves standing at the edge of destruction, like we did, and just... turned away?"

Sgt. Quinn, the leader of Theta, is the only one of the team to have seen the devastating Human-Razon war. 26 years later, he's finally managed to settle into as normal a life as possible for a veteran and Earth survivor. Serving in the BIPD and policing the uncharted regions of Youth with his team, he's even warmed up enough to display a dry wit and down-to-earth diposition. But the return of the Razon threatens to shatter him and force him to relive the most traumatizing time of his life. This time, he has the responsibility of leadership on his shoulders--but his re-surfaced trauma may make him too hardened and brittle to be the emotional support and guiding mentor to his team needs--or even worse, too haunted by memories of death to be rational as he leads his team to the thick of the very conflict that almost destroyed him.
Voice: medium to deep, aged, simple, military authority, gravelly, ranging from dryly witty to low and bitter.
*We might be looking for a subtle Southern accent, but don't use one if accents aren't your strong suit-- we want to hear you at your absolute best, and if we'd rather hear a strong voice without an accent than one with a bad accent.*
