Hey guys! I was wondering how you in your experience learn to convey/express your emotions when voice acting. My problem is that whenever I try doing it, I think I concentrate too much on how I sound like and the quality of my emotion kind of drops if that makes sense.

I was looking up a video and learned that facial expressions (In real life) also has a lot to do with it. So I wonder, what else do you guys do to express it better?

    Thank you!

Really its down to practice, facial expersions do help as it helps you get into character, pulling the expression makes it easier but actually putting yourself near that emotion also helps (So long as you can pull yourself out of it obviously)

lets say your voicing a character that in a scene is meant to be scared, first you pull the facial expression for somebody thats scared, now you basically ether jump into the emotion mentally or (a much easier way) just picture something that scares you, for example I am terrified of large underwater objects, so i'll picture in my head that i'm next to some huge ship propellers underwater that are spinning and pulling me in, then with that still in my head i say the line. same idea with the other emotions, anger thing of something that pissed you off sadness summat bad etc etc

and of course the golden word for all VA's, Practice
Voice acting is a skill, not a gift. If you don't improve that skill then you'll fool yourself into thinking its a gift.
Confidence is important in voice acting, lack the confidence, lack the voice.

Unless something incredibly bad happens to my PC or myself I normally send in my lines within a week of receiving the script, normally sooner

If your going to scout me and use an IM to contact me be sure to tell me why and what your scouting me for
I'm a tad paranoid you see...
