I did a quick search through the forums to see if maybe had a similar problem to mine, but I didn't see a similar topic, so hopefully I'm not being redundant here.

I recorded my voice clips using Audacity and exported them as MP3s. I then imported them to Windows Movie Maker to turn them into video clips to upload on Youtube. Now here's the problem I'm having. I've heard at least twice now that people watching my videos don't hear anything. They also tell me each video is around 7-12 seconds long.

I myself have seen at least on my actual page that each video is..well as long as the MP3 file really is. But when I open the video itself on youtube, all of them are truncated by 5 seconds it looks like, even though I can hear the whole audio even after the "last" second shown on the video.

What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this? Thank you in advance!

Hello, I had a look at your channel and it has only come up with 7sec, 15sec, and 13sec demos for the devil may cry ones. have you tried reuploading them? also this could be a youtube thing, you could try newgrounds.com as i know that youtube has been having trouble with some videos in the last few weeks and i think with newgrounds you can upload with a raw mp3 but i have not tried it myself yet.

i hope i was some help

Were you able to hear any audio? I'm not sure why it seems like I'm the only one who can hear anything on any of the videos. O_o

I'll try reuploading them sometime and we'll see if that works. I was unsure if it was in the process of converting them to video in Movie Maker or if it was in the upload to youtube itself. Otherwise I can try newgrounds sometime too. Thanks!

The site box.com is also pretty useful for hosting just an audio reel. And I would suggest using something other than Movie Maker. Even if you may not be creating actual dubs, if you intend on doing any kind of audiovisual production work, you should try something just a bit more advanced. VideoPad Video Editor is free and has enough of the basic capabilities. All you have to do is import the audio and place a blank space on the video track (which you can also overlay with text), then stretch your blank space to the same length as your audio.

I'll try redoing the videos with VideoPad Video Editor then and reupload to Youtube. Hopefully that will fix the problem. If not, then I'll try newgrounds or box.com

Thanks very much for the help!

Sorry for the double post but I redid all 6 using VideoPad Video Editor and reuploaded them to Youtube. Is there still no sound? It works on my end and doesn't appear to truncate the videos. I'm hearing sound on my end but I'm unsure if they're working properly. Or if they can be heard well, like they're loud enough.

I checked your youtube and all clips work for me! =) At first I thought they didn't work, but it's because of your long silent intro, lol

Thanks! =) And lol sorry about that, I had even a few friends tell me it was a bit on the quiet side. I wasn't really sure myself cause at mid-volume on my speakers, my lines get kinda loud. o_o But I'm new at putting my own videos together like this and recording lines so.... practice makes perfect? =)
