I thought the two new shows were great. I've seen deadman wonderland in Japanese, and I thought the casting choices were interesting, but very fitting. I actually loved Monica Rial as Shiro. I think it's because I'm so used to her voice being used on extremely energetic characters, whereas this time she had a few softer lines that stuck out. That being said, the Eric Vale and Monica Rial power hour is looking great so far!

Ganta is played by a girl originally but not that it really matters gender wise, I just felt he was a bit too annoying at times.

Rial though, oh god, never sing again...

I got to watch the premiere at a friend house last night... but even if I had cable at my place... I probably wouldn't stay up just to watch this Toonami line-up. Deadman Wonderland was okay. I've never seen the original Japanese dub feel like Greg was horribly miscast as Ganta and I didn't much care for Monica as Shiro. (My friends and I watching were actually cheering when the characters were getting beat up :X) and I personally think Casshern Sins was boring. Had absolutely NO idea what was going on and I'd probably fall asleep watching it regularly that late.

All in all with them just slapping the name "Toonami" on the Adult Swim anime line-up with an addition of two new shows... it doesn't really feel as nostalgic as I had hoped. I know they'll get better licenses with more viewer and what not... but it's not like I'm excited enough about this reincarnation to buy a TV and invest in cable and help them get more views for a bigger budget. Sorry Toonami, I appreciate that you tried though.

I DVRed it but did stay up for the new stuff. I'm really shocked on how many people don't have tv or cable tbh.

I was surprised that Rial semi held her key despite singing in a "voice". The lyrics hurt more than her actual voice IMO (though the singing was still pretty bad). They could've found the time for a less clumsy translation.

I can see why Rial wound up as Shiro though. She sounds absolutely nuts in a whimsical way. All things considering . . .

The ratings are not out yet, but according to this:

The series premiere of Deadman Wonderland (Saturday, May 26, 12:30 a.m.) was #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 (up 14% vs. the 2011 time period), men 18-34 and men 18-24 (up 2%). Immediately following, the series premiere of Casshern Sins (1 a.m.) ranked #1 in the time period among men 18-34 & 18-24.
    Sounds very promising.

Ratings note. Bleach, Deadman Wonderland, and Casshern Sins were all #1. However, that's not good enough.

Jason DeMarco says we gotta step it up.

The one certainty to take from this is that it doesn't take very much to win 12-1:30 a.m. on Saturday nights.

Even if the ratings don't dramatically improve, as long as Toonami premieres keep tallying number ones the block should be able to keep going though it won't be able to do much more than they already are.
