Hi! This is my first time posting a request for voices! My friend and I are working on an animated video for our senior project, which will be due in early June. I've written the story, and my friend will be doing the drawing/animating. This is an original story, and as we have limited time, I request that you only audition if you are very, VERY serious about completing this project, meaning you HAVE to be completely committed to this project. Also, please be able to pronounce the names correctly. If you aren't sure how to pronounce a name, please ask before submitting your audition. You may submit yourself for more than one part, however, please understand that even one character will be a serious undertaking, so be sure that you have the time for such a commitment in the case that you are cast more than once. Plot: Nowaki and Momiji, two twins separated at the age of 8 by a shameful divorce. Momiji was raised by his grandmother, a pretentious old woman who looks down on others, while Nowaki had to fend for herself due to a subdued mother who is virtually absent from her life. Now, 8 years later, Nowaki Momomiya is 16 and entering her Second Year of High School with childhood friends Kayuki Ochiba, Renge Fujihana, and Shunko Kiseragi. On the first day, Momiji Amanogawa, now a stuck-up, snobby rich kid, suddenly turns up at their school and says that he's to live with Nowaki?! Throw in a new student, a cute little First Year Hibari Sakuragi, and Nowaki is in for one big headache! Why has Momiji returned? How will Nowaki deal with a brother she no longer recognizes? Will the twins reconcile somehow? Can the bonds of sister and brother, and childhood friends, withstand the test of time and circumstance?

Info: Once a cute, energetic little girl, virtually growing up without a mother has caused her to change into a serious person. She is stubborn and head strong, and never backs down from a challenge. After her mother's divorce when she was 8, her mother no longer wished to be a mother, and so completely ignores her existence, simply providing money for food and clothes, and nothing else.

Momiji Amanogawa
Age: 16
Info: When he was a child, he was very solemn and quiet, but now, having grown up under the influence of a cruel grandmother, appears to be nothing more than a snobby rich kid on the surface. The VA for this character must be able to jump back and forth between cruel and snobby to serious and kind.
Voice Type: Medium
Line 1:I apologize for being late. I'm a new student. My name is Momiji Amanogawa. (Respectful)
Line 2: Could you kindly not call my name so loudly like that? (Irritated)
Line 3: Not the person you used to know. (somewhat subdued) Our situation is different now. For the past eight years, I was raised to be the grandson and heir of a rich aristocrat high on the social ladder, and you have always been, and always will be, nothing more than a commoner, scrambling to scratch out a purpose. Let's do try getting along in class, though. After all, it would be troublesome otherwise. (switch to pretentious)
Line 4: Are you alright? (Concerned)
Line 5: Don’t worry about deciding who gets what. Since you weren’t present when the movers and I arrived at your house, I took the liberty of deciding upon the bedroom. (Amused, snobby)
Line 6: There was...silence, and nothing else. It was hard to comprehend, and even harder to swallow. At the manor, there was never silence. Always, servants moving about, always tutors giving me their inane lectures, always Grandmother's voice filling my head with her ideals. I thought the silence would be relaxing, but more than anything, I can feel the loneliness beating inside Nowaki's heart.

Kayuki Ochiba
Age: 16
Info: Quiet and observant, people often mistake her for being cold or shy, but she's actually very kind. By far, she is the closest to Nowaki and Momiji and knows both like the back of her hand. Though she doesn't speak constantly, she will not hesitate to speak up for her friends. She is the granddaughter of a rich man of higher society, but her parents chose to raise her as a normal child. She is beautiful, graceful, and smart, and is first in their class without trying too hard. Her biggest trait is understanding.
Voice Type: Quiet, medium-low
Line 1: Well, at least Shun and Ren got here on time. (Teasing Nowaki)
Line 2: Where's Nowaki? When you left the classroom, she followed after you. (Suspicious of Momiji)
Line 3: Why don't we just eat lunch here? (Kind, playful)
Line 4: After all, it’s Sakuragi’s first year in Kyoto. It would be a shame to not experience it for herself. (Amused)
Line 5: You won’t be alone this year. Isn’t it more fun this way?

Hibari Sakuragi
Age: 15
Info: Energetic, bouncy, and somewhat naïve, Hibari is optimistic and very sweet. 1/4 Japanese, due to the fact that her parents, archeologists, disappeared without a trace while on a trip, she moved to Japan to live with her older brother. Although she is naïve, she can also be very serious and takes everything to heart, and therefore is easily pleased and easily wounded.
Voice Type: High, sweet
Line 1: I've...been looking for it since Monday! It's very important! (urgent, serious)
Line 2: My hair ribbon! Thank you so much for getting it for me! (Happy)
Line 3: Amanogawa Senpai helped me find my ribbon. So I invited him to do Hanami with us! (cheerful)
Line 4: I-I'm sorry...I didn't know. (Saddened)
Line 5: O-Oh...

Shunko Kiseragi
Age 16
Info: Happy-go-lucky and somewhat of a fool, he has a lot of energy and is very easy going. He doesn't seem to be a serious type of person, but in actuality can be affected by the simplest things. He is loud in school because his other siblings take up all the attention in the house. Though he recognizes that Momiji is very different, he easily accepts the new Momiji and is the quickest and eagerest to reconcile with his childhood friend. The VA for this character must be able to switch between loud, fun, obnoxious to serious and thoughtful.
Voice Type: Medium, medium-high
Line 1: I’ll make my ultra special barbecue! And we should wear our yukata! (Excited)
Line 2: Aa~gh...Hibari didn’t come by today at all...Not even for lunch...Nowaki, it’s all your fault~!Nowaki, fix i~t! (Whiny, childish)
Line 3: Go ahead. He's waiting for you. (Bittersweet. He's talking to the girl he likes who likes another person, but he wants her to be happy, but it still hurts)
VA: Alex Ridley
Renge Fujihana
Age: 16
Info: Spunky and tough, Renge is a typical sporty kind of girl. She's loud and rough, and not afraid to show it, and though she's only a Second Year, is already the Captain of Judo Club. She can, however, have a tenderer side to her. She is intelligent and second in class, but her parents always pressure her to do better, and so she is somewhat jealous of Kayuki, who studies very little whereas Renge has to study a lot.
Voice Type: Medium
Line 1: Whatever happened between the two of you, I'm sure she'd forgive you if you just apologized, ne? In any case, you should come down and eat with us. (reasoning, understanding, kind)
Line 2: Sorry about that. She might behave like this, but she means well. (Apologetic)
Line 3: I figured you didn't have time this morning to make your own lunch, so we went ahead and bought you one from the school store. (casual)
Line 4: Please just ignore this blockhead's questions. (referring to Shunko)
Line 5: Aren’t you lucky? You have your very own little kohai to follow you around. (Teasing)
Line 6: Attacking noises, grunts, shouts (as if you were practicing Judo)
VA: Dazed
Grandmother
Info: Nowaki and Momiji's grandmother. A very old woman who has been in what is considered “higher society” for a very long time. She is proud, cruel, and coldhearted. She feels no remorse. When her son ran off to Japan and got married, she went after him, and by shaming his wife, forced a divorce.
Voice Type: Old but powerful, cruel
Line 1: Are you listening to me, you ungrateful little bastard?! (Angry, cruel)

Mrs. Kikumura
Info: Nowaki and the others' homeroom teacher. It isn't easy to pull a fast one over this teacher. She is understanding and compassionate, but not afraid to be hard on a student every now and then.
Voice Type: Mature, no-nonense, medium, medium-low
Line 1: Why am I not surprised? Just take a seat, Momomiya, you're interrupting my lecture. (annoyed)
Line 2: I'm not really supposed to tell you this, but if it's any consolation, Ms. Momomiya has never once come to a parent-teacher conference for Nowaki either. (Concerned, understanding, compassionate)

Sato
Age: 16
Info: The annoying female class representative of Nowaki and the others' homeroom. She can be somewhat pretentious, but it's only because she strictly abides by the rules.
Voice Type: Medium, Medium-high, high
Line 1: The school dress code clearly states that inside shoes must be worn at all times when inside the building
Line 2: How can we be expected to uphold any sort of rules or laws, if we can't even uphold something as simple as dress code rules?

Shunko's Older Sisters (THREE VA'S NEEDED)
Age: 18+
Info: Shunko has three older sisters, all of whom are university age. However, they stay at home and mooch off their mother. They largely ignore Shunko, and when he attempts to gain their attention, they get annoyed with him.
Line 1: Shut up, Shun! Can’t you tell that I’m on the phone?!
Minako: Stephanie (Outside Source)
Student [Female] (AT LEAST TWO VA'S NEEDED)
Age: 14-16
Info: Two girls who become infatuated with Momiji upon his arrival. Despite the fact that he treats them coldly, they still want his approval. They're somewhat annoying. Others are background students and voices of classmates.
Voice Type: Any, so long as you sound like a teenager. I ask that VAs who try out for this part try at least two different voices, as if you were two different people.
Line 1: She's always been a weirdo, even in elementary school. Don't let it bother you, Amanogawa.
Line 2: You better tell that First Year to stay away from Amanogawa. (threatening, angry)

Musicians, singers, song writers, composers, instrumentalists, and ESPECIALLY folley artists needed!
For obvious reasons, we'll be needing background music as well as an Opening Song and a Closing Song. Of course, you will be given full credit for your work, and your preferred name will be in the credits.
Musicians, singers, song writers, composers, instrumentalists: The theme of the story are passing seasons, passing time, and friendships and bonds that last through them, even if apart, nostalgia. We will need both an opening and an ending song for this animated film. The opening song should especially focus on the themes of the story. For background music, we would like to focus on classical music that fits the moods of the stories, but more modern music is also accepted. We need music for any types of mood: sad, happy, nostalgic, lonely, etc. Also, if you are able to play classical music that is now in the public domain, such as from composers like Mozart and Bach, that would be a great help. Any work that you do for this project will be given full credits for their work.
Folley Artists: You are especially needed! You'll be given a full script so that you may see what needs to be done. You, as well, will be given full credit for your work. We recognize that you are an important part of the animating team, so if you or if you know someone who is available to do this, please contact me immediately!!
