Hello everyone, I've finally got the time to shape out one of my stories to translate to audio. The last time I tried a number of things led to the project failing; so this time around I've decided to scale back the amount of production and keep the work load to a minimum. At least until I can get some more help. Anyway, the story is called The Wind and The Rain. It's about young woman's journey into a war torn world ravaged by a Nuclear-powered feud between the United States and China. It's a chapter-by-chapter look at her encounters along the way to ultimately fulfilling her own destiny. I'm planning on writing this one in the style of Kino's Journey, Now and Then, Here and There; and a bit of Bandit King Jing (some comedic elements). Those who are interested in the project but are unfamiliar with the titles I just listed check them out online to get a better understanding on what I'm trying to do here. If you have questions, email me at otakastradio@gmail.com. I'd also like it if all auditions were sent to the same email address. Also, please save your lines of dialouge as "windandrain_your name_characteryouauditionas.mp3".
Warning: This is a very change of pace show, please don't ask me how many people I'm going to let you kill in the course of the show.
Female
Name: Sky of the Sure Wind (Kyrie Lea Olsen)
Age: 18
Bio: Sky grew up in a Futuristic United States that has been devastated by a Chinese nuclear bombing campaign. The war has continued between the two countries who have slowly (over a 500 year period) engulfed the rest of the known world into their intense, brutal battles. Sky’s mom was a victim of the war, and her father has brought up Sky and Toni himself. To keep Sky and Toni out of the army, Cloud (Her father); decided to enlist his daughter into the Elemental Monastery. Here Sky has studied the ancient teachings of many different sects in order to improve her knowledge of the World’s history. At 15, Sky (still Kyrie) later chooses to pursue a career as a healer. While learning the way of the life she’s chosen she is also given a very peculiar gift. An ordinary looking necklace encrusted with a small blue diamond. The necklace has apparently saved millions of lives, but Sky (as well as many others) is not impressed. Upon sitting the necklace down, Sky was almost certain the Grand Sage and the others were playing some sort of a practical joke. That’s what she thought. Until the necklace itself told her otherwise.
Voice Type: A tad bit rough around the edges, although she always speaks with the upmost respect to anyone she comes across. She speaks with a little rasp in her voice which is especially noticeable when talking about something she’s passionate about. Tomboyish.
Audition Lines:
“I don’t understand, my lord. Why would I want to place such a burden on another individual? My objective is to tend to others, not hinder them. Besides, wouldn’t such a person be in as much danger as I, regardless of the amount of training we had completed?”
Male
Name: Grand Elder Sage
Age: 50
(Physically he’s still 50, as his body has stopped aging after he reached enlightenment. However he’s possibly over 100 years old.)
Bio: The head of the Guardians of the Elemental Monastery. A former place of monks turned Elemental Shifters, who watch over the World capitals hoping to seize an opportunity to put an end to the 500-Year war.
Voice Type: As the Sages don’t physically age after reaching enlightenment, their voices remain the same as well. In the case of the Grand Elder Sage, who achieved enlightenment at the age of 50; his voice is that of an experienced, middle-aged man.
Audition Lines:
“Take this with you, wherever you venture. It is a medallion that has saved millions of lives; and is destined to again. It will protect you and all those who seek your protection as well.”
