Scarlett 2i2 Help..

So... I finally switched out my old interface for a better model. Spent two hours talking to the guy at Guitar Center and decided on the Scarlett 2i2. Got it home, all set up, powered up my recording program and hit a road block. I can't seem to record in stereo with this interface. If there is a way I haven't found it. I am probably just overlooking something simple, but for the life of me I just can't crack this.


I am using Mixcraft 5, ASIO drivers that came with the Scarlett, when I arm the track I have the option set to stereo... Still it only comes out as mono. This is actually quite frustrating lol. If anyone could lend some assistance on maybe what I could do to remedy this issue I would be OH so very appreciative. Thanks guys!

I seem to have the same problem ever since I got the interface as well. However, I find that with recording VO, mono is probably better anyway.

Well that would be fine, but the problem with that is... I don't record only VA, I am also a musician that records instruments as well as vocals so for me it presents a real problem lol.

what do you record that requires you to use stereo? Unless you have 2 mics/instruments simultaneously connected to the interface inputs you should be recording in mono.

Exactly, I do use two simultaneous instruments/mics at once. Sometimes it's vocals, sometimes it's a synthesizer, sometimes it's a bass or guitar.

With my old interface I could simply plug the mic in and choose either mono or stereo. Doesn't seem as easy with this one lol. I actually might take the scarlett back tomorrow and keep on using my UX1.
