PROJECT POST-PONED DUE TO MY LAPTOP BEING BROKEN
Similar to our other Project, the Fruits Basket audio drama; this will be a Manga adaptation as opposed to one based on a fanfiction.
It is still in the early parts of production, but I would like to start by getting word out and get dialogue with those interested.
This drama will cover the last three volumes of the Manga that weren't covered in the Anime, also known as "The Forgotten Children" Arc. Anyone who would like to help in any way is welcome!
This will be a long-term project, spanning about 8 episodes. Please be aware of this when you audition. There is also the possibility of a series of original radioplays spanning after the end of the manga.
Rated PG-13 for frightening scenarios and mild language.

Mai Taniyama
Female, 16 years old. Voice medium-high to high.
Personality: She has a cheerful and caring disposition, and by this time in the story, she's begun to show psychic talents and forms of clairvoyance. She still doesn't fully understand the extent of her abilities, and her place among her colleges.
Currently working part-time for Shibuya Psychic Research, an occult research firm. Referred to by her employer, as "Ghost hunting."
line 1: (Somewhat melancholy) Come to think of it...No one from his family came to visit. Even Yasu’s mom came to see him…
Wouldn’t you think, that at least one of his parents would show up? I don’t think they could possibly not know he was in the hospital!
I’ve been working with Naru for over a year now, and I still know nothing about him.
Where does he live? What kind of family does he have? Does he have any siblings?
It might not mean anything to Naru, but…
Line 2: Grr…Please tell me then! I’m losing my job, so I think I have a right to know!
Kazuya Shibuya aka "Naru"
Male, 17, voice medium-low to low, Slight Modern british accent. Tall vowels and proper inflections.
A cold-hearted, insensitive Narcissist, with good reason to boast. A prodigy in his line of work as a ghost hunter, with a mysterious past. He is handsome and can come off charming with little effort. But he is at heart caring and protective of his friends, he just never learned the proper way to really interact with people, so he pretty much always acts like a jerk.
Line 1: The truth is, that among all Psychic phenomena, Ghosts are the least understood. That is because spirits don't appear in research laboratories. You can invite psychics to your lab so that you can study them, but you can't just summon spirits for study. We can only study spirits that we happen to have access to. For exemple, a spirit called by a Medium, or a poltergeist which is easy to observe. To study other types of spirits we must rely on field research and eyewitness accounts. But, we have no way of verifying those accounts.
Line 2: I don’t think it’s necessary for you to know.
CAST: UNDERSTUDY ONLY Houshou Takigawa aka "Monk"
Male, 25, voice medium-low
A renegade monk from Kyoya mountain who wields considerable Dharmic power. Very sure in his abilities, but is over all, genuinely kind and protective person. Acts as Big Brother or Father figure to his peers, especially to Mai. He is a studio musician, and plays bass in a back-up band.
Line 1: But, I was once able to see spirits. I hit my head once during an exorcism, and I guess stuff got a bit knocked around in there.
Line 2: (Imitating a sports announcer) And her Finishing move finally worked! The glass shattered and fell to the ground! Another astounding performance from Mai "The Bomber" Taniyama!
Line 3: But Mai, you should always remember, that all relationships eventually come to an end.
Ayako Matsuzaki
Female, 23, Voice low to medium low
A bit arrogant with a grandiose nature. Once always boasting her spiritual abilities as shinto shrine maiden, but over time has begun to show her nurturing and motherly side. Grew up pampered and rich, but is very dependable.
Line 1: Hey...Are you seriously going to stay here? There’s no hotel...and there are tons of bugs!
Line 2: There’s no way we can rely on the guys. So we need to go shopping.
Have that stupid monk drive to the store. I’ll make up a list.
John Brown
Male, 20, Medium to medium-high Australian Accent
A catholic preist and skilled exorcist. Very kind, gentle and polite. Rather reserved but reliable. A slightly awkward foreigner as he learned his Japanese in the Kansai dialect under the impression that it was the more polite way to talk.
Line 1: Don't worry about it Mai. I'll stay here with the little ones, you go on with Takigawa and Kazuya. I'll be alright.
Line 2: Jibaku Spirits, Fuyuu spirits and others like Higao and Shugu spirits, are all recognized in Japan, but not in the west. Eyewitness account of the supernatural are also quite different in Japan then in the west. Japanese Ghosts are known for causing problems and casting curses.
But it's not like that in the west. Most witnesses just report seeing the ghost. According to that, very few spirits cast curses, and there are even fewer cases of possession.
Masako Hara
Female, 16, medium-low to medium
A famous television Medium, with the ability to sense and understand spirits. Comes off very composed and it bit conniving, and normally acts very stoic. She has some secret information on Naru, and with regret, uses it to get close to him.
Line 1: Yes. I can feel them distinctly, but their presences are very weak. They are probably the victims of the accident. There are at least twenty of them.
Line 2: I didn't say it was a bad thing. Aren't you happy that mosquitoes prefer you?
Lin Koujo
Male, Mid to late 20's, low to medium low
Quiet and composed, and a powerful Onmyoji: Wielder of ancient Chinese magic. Harbors deep hatred towards Japanese, but still works professionally, showing deep compassion hidden within
Line 1: There's an old belief that spirits can only move forward. So it's customary to build walls in the front or back of gates to keep the evil spirits away. We call these talismans "Folding screens". To spirits, these look like walls, so it serves as protection.
Line 2: What’s wrong?

Osamu Yasuhara aka "Yasu"
Male, 18-19, medium to medium high
A former client, intelligent and somewhat mischievous. Joined SPR not for his spiritual abilities, but for his superb information gathering skills.
Line 1: That's odd. Don't all spiritualists have the ability to see or feel something? Ms. Hara's main ability is to see spirits, and Ms. Matsuzaki is okay because she's a special spiritualist. And I think John can at least sense a little...
Line 2: (with joking sincerity) Oh yes, Takigawa, I only hope I can become a wonderful old man just like you!

A teacher who cares deeply for his students, but his desire to protect his pupils lead to disaster in the after life.
Line 1: Don't worry! It's okay! We're all going back to the school together! Everything is going to be okay!

The Town Mayor
Male, late 40's to early 50's
Line 1: Well, you see, there's a nearby elementary school that was shut down, and ever since then, strange things have been happening.

Line 1: This is something we really need you to keep quiet about!
Line 2: There are many people who have reported seeing ghosts there.

Line 1: I can't believe that!
Line 2: Did you hear? I heard they were looking for a corpse!
Line: Eww! That's so gross! We shouldn't go in the water!
