Synopsis
A non-commercial episodic adventure (18 episodes - 166 pages total) set in a steampunk fantasy setting. Created, Written, Produced, and Directed by "Hero of Time" composer George R. Powell of Wingspread Multimedia, Skynetessa will feature an original epic score by George R. Powell, a cast of talented Voice Actors, and visual stills to complement the audio action!
Set in Awyr City, a steampunk utopia populated by humans and an elven race called the Ymroi, the story follows college professor/proficient inventor Dr. Alexander Tordill. Tordill is a man with a great ambition to understand the Ymroi technology that the city is founded upon, and wishes to follow the rumors spoken about in academic journals that there are ancient Ymroi ruins outside the city filled with secrets long forgotten. The problem is: leaving the city is strictly forbidden by the tyrannical Ymroi emperor, Lord Caerwyn.
When Tordill's friend Alistair Slocombe, the college's dean of Anthropology, offers aid in illegally leaving the city by introducing Alex to his contact in Ceisio (an underground Ymroi rebellion organization), he is pulled into an adventure he could never have imagined.
With the company of Emily, a young girl he found in an alley who has no memory of where she came from; Iola, the Ymroi chieftain of Ceisio; and Ymroi espionage-artist and former-assassin Garnock, Tordill embarks on this journey where they encounter friends and foes, secrets and hardships, victories and defeats all of which lead up to revelations of what the world of Skynetessa really is and what role they all play!
Requirements- It is imperative that you MUST have a good quality microphone. I am utilizing every audio resource I have to make this sound as commercial as possible, even though it is free to the public to view.
- You must be okay with using PG-level language. There are a few uses of "shit" in the script as the worst kind of language you will hear.
- Files must be 16-bit, 44.1KHz samplerate. Prefer WAV, but MP3 is acceptable as long as the compression rate is 128kbps (CD Quality) or higher
- Commitment is key. Do not audition for a character that you cannot commit to. There are a few secondary characters that are only in a few episodes.
- MUST be able to perform a proper British accent. This does exclude Cockney.
- Not only am I picky about it, but I expect genuine natural performances. This is not a "comic-book" or "cartoony" type of story; it's a serious story with some comic relief and is going to be treated as a legitimate adventure film (performance-wise).

- For each episode, I will be giving each actor written and aural (in the form of an MP3) direction concerning their character's lines for that episode. If you need further direction, you are more than free to ask it.
- There are places in the script that read ("CHARACTER NAME" react vocals). This is a context-sensitive thing where I figure you'll read what just happened and record yourself making the appropriate vocal reaction.
- I will be wanting to display real names in the cast list, so please do not use internet aliases in your auditions or lines. If you are uncomfortable with using your real name, you may make a stage name for yourself, but make sure you want to be known by that name. Hypothetically, and hopefully, speaking, I will want to set up an IMDB listing for the series upon its entire completion.
- This production is not commercial; it will not be sold for any profit. The only commercial products attached to the Skynetessa franchise will be its music score composed by myself and the Opening and Ending songs produced by myself and Taylor Mae Carlson respectively.
- Remember, there are extras in most episodes that can either be filled by cast members or auditioned actors that didn't get cast for main roles.

- About: Tordill is a college professor and a very talented engineer. He has spent most of his life inventing for a hobby. Always awestruck by the technology that Awyr City is founded upon, Alex has always wanted to understand the mysteries behind this Ymroi technology. Tordill is a very down-to-earth man who is very passionate about the things he loves. When put to the test, he tends to whimper out, realizing that he is not innately a fighter.
Lines:- "I just don't understand, Alistair. These are our people; academics. They know there's a world outside these walls that's far more vast than this city.(sigh)Why do they wish to continue being like penned-up sheep?"
- (cannot figure out why the drill won't restart in the middle of a gunfight) "Bollocks! You've got to be kidding! This is so cliche!"
- (trying to encourage Garnock (pronounced "GAAR-nock"), who believes that he failed to uphold his vow to never kill again) "You are what you make of yourself, Garnock. You will never again be that "monster" unless that's what you want! I know that's not what you want...just like I don't want to be a coward anymore! I want to be someone who faces adversity with a plan of action....like you do. You've no idea how much respect I have for you, Garnock; you have much weighing on you yet you can still carry on with great strength! I admire that in a person! I hope that means something to you."

- About: Garnock was formerly Caerwyn's top assassin. He is a humble Ymroi man who, during one of his contracts, had his target tell him something that forever changed his life and led him to vow that he would never kill again. When he severed his ties to Caerwyn, he hunted down the Ceisio clan in order to put his skills to better use, feeling like every time he spares a life, he is hopefully that much closer to redemption.

- About: Commander of the Ceisio clan militia. Bleddyn was a prized soldier in Caerwyn's (pronounced "CARE-win") army before he'd fallen from grace. Ceisio picked him up when he was about to end his life due to his failure. He seems even-tempered, but he finds Tordill to be quite annoying

- About: Hawthorne is Ceisio's human frontman. He runs the photography studio that acts as a front for their underground headquarters. He is a very dirty-minded man who believes that his rudeness is actually quite funny.

- About: The dean of Anthropology at the Machlud College. He is over the division where Tordill teaches, and is a great friend to Tordill. Alistair is an idealist of sorts who believes in the notion that the people of Skynetessa should be free. This is why he allied himself with Ceisio and offered Ceisio help to Dr. Tordill in hopes that it would spark some movement in the right direction.
Lines:- (trying to encourage Tordill in his disappointment from the seminar)"Sadly, not very many are as ambitious and passionate as you. I'm afraid some people feel more comfortable being told what to believe."
- (Laughing at how silly Tordill sounds opposing his offer) "Come now, Alex. Don't be silly. You didn't think that you could lead an excavation team and just waltz right out of the city's front gate."
ANTAGONISTS

- About: Emperor of Skynetessa, based within the City of Awyr. He is indeed a tyrant, yet he is not without a sense of reason and understanding. In his mind, he is doing what he believes to be the right thing for his people. He is more of a lawful evil.
