    Greed -
Please, please, please don't take this too harshly, but I thought your performance as Greed was rather bland and could use some work. The energy and the voice don't really have the right rhythm, flow and power to make this a fantastic role. At 30 seconds you did a laugh, and it felt very forced. When doing laughs, it should come very naturally and that's just something that comes with practice. But that's really the problem, the whole voice you put on and the deliveries were very forced. It sounds almost as if (for example at 1:00,) you were holding your nose a bit in a weird attempt to make it deeper. There was a lot of underwhelming acting in this like at 2:26 "he wasn't my friend." DON'T BE AFRAID TO GO OVER AND ABOVE! But despite all I've said, there's a lot of potential here locked away in some basement in Columbia Ohio. Your voice could work for Greed very nicely if you practiced and refined yourself as an actor. Remember to ALWAYS play to your strengths!! Practice your lower range for a while, and critique yourself. Ask youself, what could I have done better? ...then redo the lines. It may take 20 times to make it work well, but whatever. And don't get me wrong, this video is a pretty good start to something that could become an amazing actor, even if it isn't your first! I recommend to do solo dubs with you playing low ranged AND high ranged characters (so you maintain a good balance with both), even if you never post them (and they're silly as hell) or only show one or two people for critiques, the practice will help you for your next work! For emotion, what's helped me personally--is studying the works of truly amazing people so you really get the feeling for what good acting IS (no, not Vic Mignogna.) Taking apart actors and trying to implement techniques into your acting will go a long long way. And don't forget Japanese actors, they're always so amazing~ They get paid a lot more and go through vigorous training, so it's not rare to hear astonishing Japanese voice actors. Here's some you should study/look into:

Rick Miller - Prince of Persia: Two Thrones - Dark Prince
Nozomu Sasaki - Johan Liebert - Monster
Billy Zane - Kingdom Hearts - Ansem
Hideo Ishikawa - Naruto - Itachi Uchiha
Andrew Francis - Nana - Takumi
Mamoru Miyano - Death Note - Light Yagami
    Alessandro Juliani - Death Note - L
Toshiyuki Morikawa - Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core - Sephiroth

Those are some distinctly darker characters. Some are higher than others, some of them are more evil, it really varies...but they all have one thing in common. They are all fantastic! AND DON'T! Be afraid to use more of your normal voice. Because it's the only one you can do perfectly. Other than that! Never stop acting, no matter what anyone else tells you. Next time I see you play this character, I want to see you genuinely convince me you want the world, you want the whole world! Keep working hard! ^^

You're take was kind of bizarre to me. You didn't play it like Todd, which is a good thing in this case. I like hearing original takes on characters. One thing I noticed, is that you were yelling a lot at the very last word/phrase of ALMOST every one of your lines... "what kind of sick creature...would kill his own FRIEND!!!" "are you going to try and tell me Bido was making EVERYTHING UP!!!??" "why are you is so much PAIN!!!!" The effect isn't good acting. It's what I call, Gurren Lagann syndrome. And this is a scene which it doesn't work and it's quite jarring, especially towards the beginning. His face is telling me he isn't just angry at Greed in the clip. His expression and lines tell me he's much more scolding, disbelieving, angry, consumed with frustration and disappointment all wrapped into one burrito of drama. So when you do the weird yelling thing, and not even in an interesting way mind you (it all sounds like the same lines with different words attached to them), it gives a very broken boring performance of just someone screaming at me and words happen to be there. But again, you're not a bad actor at all! You just need to work on it... Try doing it in a way you'd never thought about before. Experiment, see how various ways of saying things work. And pay attention to the video! Also, it may be in your best interests to read the review of Greed above and take those points into account as well.

Hmmmmm. I'm actually somewhat at a loss. Your voice had the right quality for sure and you didn't annoy me as much as Greg Ayres which is always a plus. The emotion felt a bit too generic, but I think your performance was probably the best in this clip. I would maybe make the lines flow a bit more and add a bit more punch to it, other than that...nothing really to say about your acting. Good job!

    SFX/Mixing -

Lacking reverb, that's something you need to do next time in dark, dank, narrow sort of space--like in this scene.
Better blending of lines. You could tell that you all were recording from different microphones. EQ levels need to be adjusted.

(Those problems up there ^ can be fixed by using sound forge pro 10 and looking up some tutorials)

SFX could be higher quality... Here, this should help:

    www.soundsnap.com

To download any sound effects from the site, you have to have google chrome. Then you right click on sound snap just to the left of the play button. Then click on inspect element. There should be 6 "<tr> </tr>" that comes down. If you don't see them--look for them by finding and click on "<table". Once you have the "tr"s Click on the 5th one. Then click on the first "<td>" click on "<div" then the first "<object" then you should see a bunch of "<param"s that come down. Look at the second one. Somewhere it should say "value=sound file" then a link following that. Double click, copy the link, paste it in your search bar and BAM! You automatically have the file downloaded. It's not strictly the most legal way of obtaining sound effects, but none of us are making any money off of this either. And once you know how to do it, it takes about 5 seconds. And those are free of copyright too!

GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING YOU GUYS DO! I'm SOOOOO sorry for being such a jerk! D:

I Understand everything you've picked up on u weren't being a jerk, just honest. I'm actually glad. Up until now I've only had people who know nothing telling me I'm good and others telling me that I'm doing good, as I've only been doing this for a year. I joined VAA so that I could get critiqued and improve Ive been working on my emotions for a while, so that's the main thing I'm working on. As for the mixing, I've only got access to Sony Vegas 10 so hopefully more practice with that will yield the same results :') Though: What you not like about Vic? lol

*sigh* It took me an good 2 hours + to write all this, so I'M SUPER glad you're taking it to heart. ^^ About Vic, I have no issues with him. Actually, he's one of the reasons i started voice acting. xD It's just I sort of find people only looking towards him for guidance when studying any acting when there's room for others as well. I should have said Johnny Yong Bosch, because that--that is what is NOT good despite being popular.

Haha I get exactly what you mean :') Vic is good but I think too many people kind of set him as a bench mark. Recently I've been looking at Bill Wise, more so because he's a classically trained actor that branched into VAing, cos really the classics are the basics if you want to be any good haha. I think you need to be in the right mood for Johnny Yong Bosch. Like I can't stand his Ichigo voice but his Hollow Ichigo is my guilty pleasure. Everything else he's in though I kind of just brush over haha :')
