I was pretty sure most voice acting for video games and stuff goes down in southern California. That's part of why I want to go to college there. New York is good for commercials, but I think if I wanted to be in a BioWare game or something like that, I'd have to ship to CA. Anyone know more about this?

Very interesting, seems like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I'm probably not coughing up 500 dollars for something I doubt I'll ever be good enough to do professionally.

Sometimes New York agents get stuff from Bioware... that said you have to have a decent agent if your were trying to work in either New York or California and want to get auditions from reputable companies. But yeah, for the video games and pre-lay animation stuff, you want to be in LA. Canada does some pre-lay and some dubbing. New York gets very little animation stuff, if any... but definitely a lot of commercial work. Same for Chicago. And Texas is anime work and probably some commercial work as well.

You should enter your email/info into the mailing list they have on the website URL I provided in the opening post. They'll send out emails when dates for upcoming workshops have been established. I think you could also check out BangZoom's twitter account - it'd make sense for them to announce them there as well.

I've saved all my scripts from the two sessions I've done. Being in the recording booth is one of the happiest moments in my life.

Tip for anyone taking the intermediate classes....bring a flash drive. The foley recording session is allowed to be shared so you would want to have that audio file for memories.

This. This, right here. The entire experience meant so much more to me than I'm able to put into words.

Thank you for posting this! It really helps me to refresh my memory of the workshop to see someone else's account. My notes were all about the advice Tony gave and didn't capture what happened so much.

I remember he said next year, if he's still available to get to NYC for workshops, he is going to do an advanced session. I totally want to go. I'd re-do the intermediate one too just to have more studio time. I'd also love to make it to one of Chrispin's workshops--Tony was FANTASTIC but I feel it is important to learn from a lot of different people as everyone works differently and you never know who's "method" will resonate best with you.
