    I have a bit of a critique for your episodes as well, there were two main things that bugged me while listening to this episode;

    - research the songs beforehand

    Just a minute of googling, so you can give some context instead of spending a lot of time talking about how you don't know who sang what and where it's from, would make this sound more professional and not as rambly.

    - mix the episodes

    I'm not talking about adding effects or anything, but I had to turn it down a lot when the opening music came on, then back up when the talking started and up and down at each contestant. Just some basic levelling would make this so much easier to listen to.
    Also from what you mentioned in the episode about someone mentioning you two were talking a lot, you both completely dismissed it and ridiculed it and before I'd listened to anything to do with this show it really rubbed me the wrong way. To the point where before I'd heard your thoughts on my audition- I knew I'd have a hard time agreeing with things you say later on. It was really unecassary to say. You can edit things like that out or parts where you get off topic.

    I won't comment on what you said about my audition, this is your competition and you are entitled to your opinion on it. However, if you want auditions to show a specific thing, or auditions not to be like x, then say so in the audition information.

    Just going to mention, the people who we were talking about that said that are good friends of ours, and we're at a position where we can say things like that to them without them getting offended. Since it wasn't directed at you, it shouldn't bother you. This is our second season, which means we've been doing this for quite a while, without anyone complaining about our judging style. I'm sorry you didn't like it though, we'll take your comments to heart. We hope you decide to re-audition!

    EDIT: Also, after reading your comment about being professional, we made it very clear this is an amateur singing competition, and we do it mainly for fun. Thanks for understanding!

    Errr, okay, I've not listened to these things, but judging from what I've read, I agree with lilmenchi. I understand that this is an amateur production; 90% of the people on this forum are "amateur". But there's a certain level of professionalism that one needs to uphold if one wants to be taken seriously. And I'm sure it's not as if you personally hurt her feelings. But when you say something like that and ridicule comments of people who listen (whether you know them or not), it is offensive. (I'm listening to it as I type this, it's a little insulting to me.) It's difficult for someone to respect and acknowledge a person who blows off peoples criticism with comments like that.

    Well, Paru, I respect your opinion, but really, why is this being made an issue? We made a snarky comment directed towards our friends, and we're being made into the bad guys. The people who it was referring to didn't get upset, so why is it that people who don't even know the context of it are getting upset? It's a minuscule issue, and should be treated as such.

    I'm not trying to victimize you, honest; I'm giving my opinion. I couldn't care less if your friend is not upset by it, but I personally, and I can only speak for myself, don't think that it's an appropriate way to address that in a production. Not everyone will know the "it's a friend" backstory and that kind of thing could ultimately damage the production. I'm not trying to make it an issue, it's just that my comments and criticisms are similar to lilmenchi's. Not to say you're bad or that I'm right and you're wrong, but in my personal opinion, the prolonged off-topic conversation, the ridiculing of criticism and comment, and the balancing of audio levels make for a less enjoyable experience. I know it's just for fun, but you're on your second season, and you've thought the project through, so it seems to mean more to you than just something to do. I believe a level of professionalism should be upheld for the benefit of the production and I don't believe that it's been reached. Just my opinion.

    Like I said, I respect your opinion, but it's really not an issue that anyone but you or lilmenchi really brings up. Thank you for voicing your opinions though, and we will do our best to address them in our next episode

    I'll agree with the leveling issue. That kinda drove me nuts. As for the whole banter thing... When you're judging a show with someone who's one of your best friends, you're gonna get more than a little rambly and/or off-topic. I know that happened with me and Alysson on WWoD A LOT, especially at first. But when Mellie commented on it (and on the length/quality of my critiques), we took it to heart and tried to keep the random talking to a minimum while we recorded. We got to where we would stay on and just chat about everything and nothing for about an hour while she mixed the competitors' songs in with the half-hour of our recorded critiques. People listen to this show to hear the songs and your opinions on them, not your opinions on everything in the world for ten minutes* and then the critiques. So that is definitely something you should work on if it's been brought to your attention, and it's something that is good to remember on any show you're on. The best judges are concise and accurate in their critiques, while maintaining a balance of the fun banter - enough to keep people interested. (Think Rachelle and Jefferz, or Mellie and MFB.) XD

    And as for the inside jokes and the sarcasm... I would suggest keeping those to a minimum, since people who don't understand them are likely to get offended. As evidenced by the above comments. I agree, it shows a certain lack of professionalism. But for crying out loud, this is a show based around the singing of theme songs to what are typically considered childrens' shows!! How much maturity and professionalism do you really need?? This show is a bit more relaxed and fun than most - somewhat more like a game show vs a singing show like American Idol and the like, atmospherically speaking. The majority of people here aren't competing for pride in their talent, they're just here to have fun, and the boys treat it as such. Also, with all due respect to James and Kyle, both of whom are good friends of mine - they're teenage boys (even though they talk as much as teenage girls**). So they're occasionally insensitive or have a rude sense of humor. Get over it.

    *Note: exaggeration (I hope)
    **Note: sarcastic, playful rib at my friends, not meant to be offensive in any way
