    INTRODUCTION

    Hey there.

Just so you know. We are Ace Productions. We've been making short films for quite a while now and are looking to improve and learn from our experiences each time we produce a film. It should also be mentioned that we sadly are unable to pay for anything at this time as we are students already trying to produce films of good quality on a virtually non-existent budget. However we do believe for aspiring voice talent that our film should be of good enough quality to be featured on CV's and Portfolio's ect.

If want to see our latest short, 'Echoes' check us out at youtube.com/acefilmsofficial

    INFORMATION

We're currently in the process of writing our next short film, 'Untraceable' a psychological crime thriller that features an ex-Detective who confronts his past when the case that sabotaged his career returns to haunt him. We are planning to really hammer a story home with this film featuring a solid three act structure.

The voice actor we require is for the Detective character himself. The character in the film is mostly silent and primarily speaks his inner thoughts through found recordings and diary entries, therefore this is an amazing opportunity to show off your talent.

As far as context goes we know this. The Detective is never in the film referred to by name, adding to the mysterious nature of the film. He also is a drug addict, using them as a way to suppress his inner emotions. The character has frequent flashbacks, recollecting his earlier days and as far as Society goes, he's given up. He sees the world he lives in as a lost cause.

As far as Direction there should really be a kind of raw, gritty feeling from the audition as this is a character who has lost his grip on the world.

    Here is the audition dialogue:
"The calling card. Throughout history, people have tried to comprehend why a killer would leave a mark, a trace of their brutal, tormented nature. I think I've figured it out. It's ownership. To end someone's life is a display of power and arrogance; placing ones own life above the importance of another. This guy uses a bulls-eye; a symbol of an organised murder. A calculating, planned and swift execution. The only thing linking these cases is the calling card, he leaves no evidence, no fingerprints... nothing. To think I was so close to catching him..."

There are however some guidelines the auditions MUST follow.
    • Must feature a CONVINCING English accent. We're not going to disqualify anyone who's outside of England but the accent needs to be convincing. Especially as other actors in the film will be speaking with English accents.
    • The performance should bear in mind that the actor that will be playing The Detective is 18, therefore the deepest voice in the world probably isn't a good idea, then neither should be a ridiculously high pitched voice!
    CONCLUSION

Generally speaking, we hope our premise has intrigued you enough to audition. We plan to shoot the film starting in late April/ early May and finishing possibly in mid July. We'll most certainty update you through the process of the production through emails.

Please send all your auditions to-

-and most of all, good luck.
