You know I was looking around and noticed that there is no MLP thread. I have to change that. XD

For those that been living under a rock or don't watch shows like this:

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated television series that premiered on October 10, 2010, on the United States cable network The Hub. Hasbro Studios and DHX Media's animation studio in Vancouver (formerly known as Studio B Productions) produce the series, which is based on Hasbro, Inc's My Little Pony line of toys and animated works. Hasbro selected animator Lauren Faust as the creative director and executive producer for the show. Faust sought to challenge the established "girly" nature of the existing My Little Pony line, creating more in-depth characters and adventurous settings, incorporating Hasbro's suggestions for E/I ("educational and informational") content and marketing of the toy line.

The show follows a studious unicorn pony named Twilight Sparkle as her mentor Princess Celestia guides her to learn about friendship in the town of Ponyville. Twilight becomes close friends with five other ponies: Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie. Each represents a different face of friendship, and discovers herself to be a key part of the "Elements of Harmony". The ponies share adventures and help out other residents of Ponyville, while working out the troublesome moments in their own friendships.

The show has been critically praised for its humor and moral outlook. Despite the target demographic of young girls and their parents, Friendship Is Magic has gained a large following of older viewers, predominately male teenagers and adults, who call themselves "bronies". Reasons for this unintended appreciation include Faust and her team's creative writing and characterization, the expressive Flash-based animation style, themes that older audiences can appreciate, and a reciprocal relationship between Hasbro, the creators, and the fans. Elements of the show have become part of the remix culture and have formed the basis for a variety of Internet memes.

In other words, s*it is pretty good. I admit at first, I wasn't into it because I thought it was for little girls...until I actually watched it. This show has excellent writing and good characters for just a "girly" kid's show. So if you don't care about the lines between "girly" and "manly" and just want to watch a good and fun show, enjoy this one. Lauren Faust, you really hit this one out of the park.

Discuss all things Friendship is Magic and Friendship is Magic-Related here if you are man or woman enough. XD

This trend of "Bronyism" has spread like a plague and yeah some of the episodes I have seen clips of have shown this to be a surprisingly well-written show in amidst all the crap kids call entertainment today(I'm looking at you Johnny Test and Big Time Rush!!!!!!). I'm sure someone has made a made up religion focusing on the Brony trend and I,in turn, shall christen it as The Church of the Latter Day Brony!!! A bit too far?

Look. I get the idea that "Bronyism" is very polarizing with in the Internet community. On one hand, it is great to see people that don't care about gender to come together and enjoy something that should be for little girls. On the other hand, things like this spiral out of control and stuff like Cupcakes are made (Believe it or not, that is the tamest thing I can talk about without getting banned. XD). The thing is not that you are a brony or not. It is that you can just enjoy something because it is good and this show is damn good. So don't be turned off by the weirder parts of the fanbase....until you are into that stuff in case you are a braver then I.

I think of myself as one but I am not as hardcore as the rest of them. I like to think of myself as more casual with it.

I honestly do not consider myself a brony, despite the fact that I've streamed the episodes online and watched them. I just watch the show because of how well it is written, and performed...and the actual life lessons involved.

And there is nothing wrong with that. Brony or not, as long as you enjoy it, more power to you. If you don't, I am cool with that too.

Eh watched like a quarter of one show and couldn't understand the appeal. As always though more power to those who like and enjoy it.
    Making monster voices since 1969.

Well, being that I'm a bit of a closet Broney myself, some of the problems that some of the characters face and solve is something I can relate to(like when Luna was judged by the others and shunned because she was very different from the other ponies, god how I want to start punching myself in the kidneys right now!!!!). But if a show can make me relate to f**king ponies, then it is either just that insidiously well written or I have just lost my man card over 9000 times.
