Greetings to all!
This message was originally posted in the "Help, Information, and Resources" forum, but I felt that it would be wise to also post it here.
I am still very, very new to this website, and to producing large works as a whole, yet I express wishes to embark on a very, very ambitious project - a complete radio adaptation of KKat's fanfiction "Fallout: Equestria".
For those that are not familiar with the story, allow me to explain a little more about it. As the title suggests, the fanfiction is a crossover between the series "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" and the "Fallout" video game series. Certainly a strange mix, but it is certainly a well-written story. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic Equestria, where the land has been ravaged by what was effectively a magical nuclear war between ponies and zebras. Pockets of the original Equestrian inhabitants managed to survive by sealing themselves into large fallout shelters called "stables", where the remnants of Equestria's pony society attempt to continue their lives until the radiation above dissipates. Other Equestrian ponies, who were not able to reach the stables in time, also try to continue their lives in the Equestrian wasteland, though matters aboveground become violent. Centuries later, the stables are still active, and the ponies have not returned to the surface. At this point, the story introduces us to the pony Littlepip, who works in Stable 101 as a Pipbuck technician (the story's equivalent of Fallout's Pipboys). When another pony named Velvet Remedy, one of the stable's prominent singers and one of Littlepip's crushes (it is probably necessary to mention here that Littlepip is a female pony, same as Velvet Remedy), manages to escape the stable, Littlepip also escapes in search of Velvet Remedy. What ensues is a thrilling adventure in the Equestrian wasteland, where Littlepip comes to meet other friends, and eventually open the way to healing the poisoned land of Equestria itself.
The story in its entirety can be read here: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/0...equestria.html
Be warned that the story is 614,000 words in length, but if you have not done so already, and happen to be a fan of either "MLP:FIM" or the "Fallout" series, it is certainly wirth the time reading.
Now, as far as the radio drama is concerned, I am currently looking for voice actors, understudies, and script writers who are willing to devote a great deal of time on such a project - emphasis on "great deal". The fanfiction itself is of enormous length, and I too have limited time to work on the project in spite of my aspirations.
Information on all involved characters, as well as auditions, will be posted later.
Before that, however, I would like to guage the interest of the Voice Acting Alliance community in this project, as well as an evaluation of how feasible/infeasible it would be.
I would also like to know if any similar adaptations of "Fallout: Equestria" happen to be underway, so that I don't delve into something that's already being done.
So please, tell this greenhorn producer - what do you think? Since I am totally new to this business, I would like as much advice as I can get. I would also like to know whether you all believe that this project has the potential to grow into something worthy.
Thank you all for your time and patience.
