So my winter break just ended and i realised the entire time i bookmarked a good 15 - 16 threads to audition for and only auditioned for one of them meaning i procrastinsted the entire winter break and the auditions i wanted to do have pretty much ended.

So im wondering why i kept puttig it off, christmas i can understand but trough the 2 months i was on break i made 10 videos, and not the simple kind ether im talking videos that take several hours to make for most of them, so im wondering is there a way to essentially get round procrastinating auditions or to transfer the drive i had to make those videos ?

I can see one reason why i might of not auditioned, self-doubt
Voice acting is a skill, not a gift. If you don't improve that skill then you'll fool yourself into thinking its a gift.
Confidence is important in voice acting, lack the confidence, lack the voice.

Unless something incredibly bad happens to my PC or myself I normally send in my lines within a week of receiving the script, normally sooner

If your going to scout me and use an IM to contact me be sure to tell me why and what your scouting me for
I'm a tad paranoid you see...

Same problem here. I have things to record but I end up gaming or do my own fandub scenes. I think it's the: have to issue. You know you have to do it and then you try to delay it for something that you just want to do at the moment.
What I did was making a schedule with when I have to record for a certain project and it did help me out. I sometimes didn't finish one audition, but did it one day / two days later as it kept on nagging me. I placed 1/ 2 or 3 projects on one day depending on the deadline. Once you start recording it gets easy
I do have to use a schedule again as I have a week off as well and I'm not doing much, lol. xD

Due to technical difficulties it's unknown when Switch will come out. The creators are working on it in their free time.

Auditions huh,not to brag or anything but try working on an original pet project with a lot of talent, little to no motivation, and NO experience working on something that I suddenly realize that I am in over my head. Add that with my feeling of responsibility of not letting down the people who auditioned for my project and helped me get motivated. Yeah,I hope it brings things to some perspective while trying the best I can to not sound condescending. I apologize if I come across that way. It is hard sometimes while living for your dream.

I set myself very rigid deadlines. Usually works for me, but I've been at this a while.

Drop me a line if i can kibitz at all.

Focus less on the quantitative and more on the qualitative. Instead of bookmarking every audition you'd like to do or every project you want to participate in, just pick one. You may feel under-worked at first, but you will have less distractions and can focus more of your efforts on one project at a time. If you want to do more than just VO, you can talk to the producer and offer any additional help. One of the biggest things that make actors employable is their ability to continue working off-stage. Use this to keep yourself busy on one project and you'll produce real quality work.

If you still feel after a few months that you can take on more, add in one more project. Take baby steps and focus on things one at a time. It's very easy to get distracted, unmotivated, and ultimately produce poor quality work when you take on a list of goals too big for you to handle properly. It would help to make a schedule and stick to it. Pace yourself by hanging a calendar in your room and write out what you're dedicating each day to. Don't be afraid to be detailed with it either!

The problem (either real or perceived) with only trying for one thing is that auditioning is like looking for a job - if you only pursue one at a time, then you pass over other opporutnities for this one thing, which you might not get (and, as murphy's law would have it, when you do pursue multiples, you almost always get multiple offers at once).

That's why it's often hard to select one and focus.

I definitely agree with helping out behind the scenes - build a relationship with various producers and groups of actors and (most importantly, coming from a producer here) get a rep for being reliable.

As to getting out of a slump, however, maybe try setting some goals - "I will play a major role in something by summer", and pursue it. Give yourself a set award if you "win" Stupid advice, but it actually works...sometimes.
