Usually when I audition, I do a couple takes of the lines, then edit out the really bad ones, stutters, and general nonsense/noise, but I was wondering: are there any producers/casters out there who would maybe prefer an uncut audition. By that, I mean leaving in all the bloopers and silliness on the side of the lines. Because, who knows, maybe a mess up could have the voice you are looking for.

This is just a random thought, not sure how valid my point of view is, since I'm not a producer/casting person.

What I usually do for producers is, first off, I make a reel, saying lines in a character's voice over and over again, until it comes naturally to me, and just to keep it brief, I cut out the weakest lines (In my personal opinion are the weakest), because, I don't want a producer sitting there for 5 minutes (excuse my exaggeration) just to listen to one line being said differently, plus they don't need to know that I'm making bloopers (unless they ask, which is rare).
Even though I'm not a producer either, I usually don't waste the director's time with auditions that contain my stuff ups. Only exception I would think would suffice is if you were auditioning in person or over a call, because at least everyone has an input, they can see/hear you're having fun with the audition. I remember one time I did one for Para_bolic....man, came up with one unlikely voice for a project, and the rest was history.

As a voice actor, I like to send a minimum of three takes per line if I can. I record a long strip of different takes then choose the best and put those into one audio file, taking out the bad takes. I don't send bloopers or long reels.

From a producer standpoint, I hate receiving long files where all of the lines are lost in the clutter and you hear the voice actor moving around, talking to themselves, messing up...it takes far too long to go through all of that and it can get very annoying. Right away, these types of auditions get rejected from my inbox. I know myself and a few friends have been put off working with va-s who constantly do this type of thing if they have been told not to. I have never seen a case where someone would ask for bloopers during an audition stage and I would highly suggest just following the guidelines given to send in the lines provided. I had someone send in random lines that were nothing to do with the production and it annoyed me to no end.

It is really up to the producer/actor for this one. Some prefer hearing a more natural audition warts and all, some prefer a condensed one with the strongest takes. For me, since I don't want to spend more than a minute or so for each line audition (since I do have a lot of other things going on in life), I prefer auditions that are short and to the point. If some mistakes or bloopers are included, it isn't a big deal, but REALLY long auditions are likely going to be deleted (follow instructions, people!).

I'd personally prefer only your polished takes or favorite versions. And honestly, I'd really prefer two goes at the most, since usually when I get multiple takes, they're only slightly different.

Not that I've cast in a long time, but I would prefer only your favorite or "best" reads of the line. If you have two DIFFERENT (and I do stress different) reads, you can do a "Take 2" option, but if it's just messing up, etc I don't think it's worth including it.

If you're auditioning for any thing professional, then *definitely* only include your best stuff.
