  1. #1 [CLOSED] female teenager, loud and quirky needed
    STATUS: CLOSED!

    Please read carefully! Thank you.

    Prerequisites
This is a real FUN role in our ambitious semi-professional project. Even if you are a volunteer I desire reliability. Each voice actor will be important and only through your contribution we will be able to finish the project! As there will be a number of 'parts', it will be appreciated, if you enjoy voicing for WFD and produce with us for a longer period of time.

Consider this audition like a real application, your first impression will be important. Please refrain from half-hearted contributions.

Due to the intention of producing in near-professional quality, I require patience and passion, because I'll ask for retakes if your performance needs honing, or if there's anything to correct on the technical side of your recordings. In turn you'll be rewarded with swift replies/critiques and your lines as feed-back in the work-in-progress usually within hours!

    The White Feathers Directive
Is an ongoing audio play. WFD puts the original cast of "White Feathers" into 'slightly' different roles, offering action, fan-service, weirdness, angels, demons, fighting and destruction. The play covers a single day from morning to afternoon. There are occasional "erotic innuendos"! The general kind of anime slap-stick scenes.

    Recording Format and technical requirements

    - A decent condenser microphone!

    - Use a wind-shield/pop-killer!

    - Set levels to not clip your recordings!

    - 48kHz (alternatively 44,1)

    - Mono ~one~ channel.

    - OGG Vorbis, maximum Quality setting! (mp3 as a last resort)

    - No denoising or other processing!

Due to looking for voice talents on different forums, please write in your email your user-name and on which forum you found this casting-call. Also please state briefly, if you feel you can meet my above mentioned requirements.

    Filename: Character_Username.ogg
Contact: sommer [ät] joogn [dot] de
    - You may record all audition takes into one file.

    Deadline: Fr., 25.5.2012
Preferably as soon as possible, because we are in production and need to re-cast.

    Thank you in advance

    Find finished parts here: http://www.joogn.de/WFD/
Please listen to produced parts in order to hear
how Futaba sounded and acted till now.

Expect about 5 lines per months.

    Re-casting!

    Dr. Anzai Futaba (16)
Voice type mid to high-range. She is a loud, energetic and quirky scientist girl and the class mate of Nanoka. As such she protects Nanoka from the "Panty Shot Raiders" (fan-service faction. Masayuki and Yukio) with her wacky inventions. Later she hides Nanoka and Shiro from CEMA in her underground laboratory. She is not an angry character, but she feels very strongly about, what she does and stands for.

    Futaba.04.022.01 (overly loudly and cheerfully)
Ah, Shiro-san! It's so nice to see you again! (lowering voice conspiratorially) Nanoka-chan told you to meet me after school this afternoon so we can install the... 'package', right?

Futaba.04.022.06 (in response to Kenshin: "We can't all be geniuses like you, Futaba-chan.")
(with a careless lack of modesty) I know. It's quite a shame, isn't it?

    Futaba.05.024.08 (confidently)
I designed it with a 'delicate' setting for situations requiring fine motor control!

    Futaba.05.024.10 (proudly)
See? Suitable for all everyday tasks in the home and garden! Every home should-- (her 'PervBuster' gets out of control) whooaaaaaa!

Yeah, is WAV okay? And what accent for the character? I know her 'old' voice was American, it's just that there are a variety of accents between the characters!

If using a M$ windows based system you may use "lamedrop" http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lamedrop.php, or "OggDropXP" http://www.rarewares.org/ogg-oggdropxpd.php. You only need to raise the bitrates for encoding first.

Uncompressed PCM WAVs are pretty large for emailing at 48kHz 16/24bit. I do not accept sample rates below 44,1kHz.

As for the character's accent: All 'accents' in WF/WFD are due to the voice talent's origins, we have/had a acouple of Asian VAs.
The original WF Futaba was from Canada and even had a lisp (great loss, I really liked her performance).

Use your normal 'accent', or give varieties if you feel it would fit. I need to hear it...

You could record now. So I can already tell if your performance and voice type works for Futaba.
