I can't say I HATE them because for years that was where I did voice acting and was what eventually brought me to this place <3 But now, I don't use them at all to be honest XD Almost every project I've seen on there either never comes out, they take on way too much and can't handle it so the work is very choppy, or it's absolute beginners who have no idea what they're doing and give up. For real job posting auditions....I'm sorry but stuff on YouTube is too risky. There's not really much way to tell if it's legit or not.

Not really gonna say much else that hasn't already been said but, like everyone else, I tend to avoid YouTube auditions. I even don't consider auditioning for something if it's telling me to make a video response as an audition or to look at a video for lines. It takes less effort putting everything into a thread than making a flashy video.

    Spoiler:

Fersure. I've never done any YouTube auditions, but I have run into two or three threads that required that. I don't intend to use YouTube for any of my auditions, either, and if a project requires that you absolutely MUST post your audition on YouTube, I'm not going to be doing it.

I can't agree more with Ovarku.
When I first started out doing voice acting I did a few auditions on youtube, but a majority of the time after being cast in something I would either not here back from the producer again or I would at least receive a script in the form of a PM without any recording information or where to send my lines when I was done with them. Same thing goes for scouts. I've had people scout me that had a genuinely interesting flash/machinima/audio project that never went anywhere after I accepted the role, or they were rude when I declined...

I have no hope when it comes to Youtube Auditions, just from experience. But hey, if there is a producer out there that solely works off of Youtube and can get their shit together and I've been apart of their project.. than my hope might rekindle itself.
