    KHCRAZY10 PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS

    Hi Everyone! If you've been following my Producer blog or saw the audition thread back in November, this may be the moment you've been waiting for, the release of my English fandub of the Tokyo Game Show Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance trailer. Well, the dub is finally finished as you can see!

    In this dub, Braig is voiced, although he was previously left unvoiced in the original Japanese trailer.

    This dub DOES NOT feature my voice, but it was mixed by me. The voices were done by some awesome voice actors on the Voice Acting Alliance (http://voiceactingalliance.com).

    Stay tuned for a surprise at the end

    CAST:

    Sora: BOWIEtheHERO
    Riku: Philsterman01

    Mixing done in Logic Express (Audio) and iMovie 11 (Video)

    SFX ripped from the trailer, KH 2, and SoundDogs

    KHcrazy10 Productions Intro by Tara St. Michel

    Wow this was really good guys. I don't think I'm a experienced enough voice actor to criticize anyone but I will say this everyone who was in this had a very awesome voice that fit their character fantastically, not necessarily saying they fit the original voice actor's voice but they sounded great for who they played.
    Making monster voices since 1969.

    Wow, that was quick. o_o Turned out pretty well! Now for my thoughts.

    HeroicRoxas :: Braig and Yen Sid
    Your Yen Sid voice is good. It was fittingly wise and ancient and you were comfortable with the voice. However, I do think you were a bit too over-dramatic with your reads, and Yen Sid is a little more relaxed than that, especially when he's just instructing Sora and Riku. For Braig, the voice was appropriate. But, you sounded pretty angry on the first line and Braig (from the....really brief shot of him) didn't really give me that impression. But, to be fair, there really isn't much to go by, so meh. >>; So, yeah good job!

    BOWIEtheHERO :: Sora
    Like I've said to you on Facebook, it was very different from what I'm used to. It was confident and heroic, which suits Sora and it's a great voice for characters like him. But, I won't lie, it was a bit strange hearing him with an accent. However, you had his energy, and the acting was very good. And I ended up warming up to the voice anyway because of that. So yeah, good job man!

    Philsterman01 :: Riku
    Huh, dunno why but I thought Riku had more lines in this trailer. Ah, well. For those few lines, the delivery was appropriate, and of course the voice was too. So yep, great job, man!

    Shojx :: Neku
    I kinda feel the voice lacks the heaviness I'm used to hearing from Neku, but you did pretty well. Bonus points for saying his name right.

    Me :: Quasimodo
    Huh. What do you know? My voice fits. o.o;

    Tara :: Mixing
    Pretty good, kept the focus to the voices and the music and SFX didn't overpower us. The Dream Eaters appearing sounded a bit too quiet though. It was kinda weird that HJO's and David Gallagher's recordings were in there. But, again, good job. I kinda thought the opening was a biiiit too long, but that's more of a pet peeve.

    So, yeah, I enjoyed it. Nice work guys.

    Yay bloopers. XD

    Is it wrong of me of laughing at the "I can't afford to lose the game" line? XD

    It's up! You sure work efficiently!

    I've never given critiques or anything of the sort but seeing as how this is the first group dub I've been a part of, I'll try and share my opinions a bit:

    HeroicRoxas -- Yen Sid & Braig
    I thought you did a great job on both voices. For Yen Sid, I feel like a narrative voice would be difficult to do but you pulled it off very well.
    Some of the lines felt a bit exaggerated, but I don't think it had a negative impact on those lines overall.
    I really liked the tone you used, I could feel Yen Sid's wisdom behind it, and I think it was great for capturing the mood of the trailer.

    As for Braig, I don't have anything to say other than I thought it was a fantastic portrayal.
    I'd say this moment served as the trailer's climax, so the delivery matched perfectly.
    I felt the voice suited him really well, so perfect job with that one.

    Sora -- BOWIEtheHERO
    The accent caught me off guard at first, but looking past that, your voice captured the light-hearted friendliness of Sora very well.
    The pronunciation of Neku's last name sounded a little off, though. Regardless, the acting was really good and I thought your portrayal of Sora was great!
    It might have been a bit different from what you'd expect from Sora, but it definitely worked and it had the necessary friendliness that I think defines him.

    Riku -- Philsterman01
    Nice job, I couldn't help but compared your voice to Mamoru Miyano rather than David Gallagher, and it really fit Riku well.
    The first line at the beginning sounded a bit lacking in emotion but that might have been because Riku's doubt contrasted with the enthusiastic Sora
    who had just spoken. Your second line was perfect, in my opinion. Great job!

    Shojx -- Neku
    I can't really critique myself, all I can say is I was influenced by Kouki Uchiyama's performance as I've (very unfortunately) never played
    the English version of TWEWY. However, after searching and listening to the English dubbed Neku, my performance was definitely too light compared to that.

    Ryusuke -- Quasimodo
    Wow, really nice job! I couldn't help but think while watching "Wow, that's actually what he sounds like" because it fit perfectly.
    You did a great job on your performance. I loved the determination in his last line.

    And that's the best I can do with critiques!

    The mixing was very well done, and even more points to you Tara for organizing this entire project and getting it out so quickly!

    Great job everyone on your performances and making this dub fantastic!
    I really like how this turned out.

    Oh, and also, congratulations everyone on losing the game!

    Is my accent really that distinct? It's a hard voice type to put an American accent on, that's for sure As for Neku's surname, I was a little reluctant to don a Japanese pronunciation style. But enough me trying to cover my arse, a critique is critique, always good to learn!

    Ciritques -

    Heroic Roxas
    Yen Sid - I am very much of the same opinion as Ryusuke on this one. You're voice is great, but there's a little over dramatisation, for me, most notably on 'Dreeeeam Eaters' The character is right though. It was a surprising performance. Didn't know you could get your voice that low!
    Braig - Personally, I thought it sounded great. Had no qualms with it whatsoever!

    Philsterman01
    Riku - I liked this performance very much. You fit him very nicely. And that exchange with Quas was just G! Could've been in the game and I wouldn't have batted an eyelid. Well done

    Shojx
    Neku - Your tone is lovely. I really enjoyed your line "You must be Sora", sounded perfect. Having never played TWEWY, I have only soundfiles to go on and the Japanese Voice Actor for his voice, but i can say it really suited him. Could've had a little more urgency and/or surprise when the Dream Eaters popped up, because he was startled and the line sounded a little played down.

    Ryusuke
    Quasimodo - Short but sweet. You got his determination right, and there was a lovely hint of trust in Riku, that makes him want to fight. Well played, sir!

    Tara
    Mixing - I thought this was mixed nicely, again as Ryusuke said, the voices weren't drowned out by the music and SFX, but the Dream Eater apparition could have been louder. That iconic noise when Heartless, Nobodies and those ones from BBS... Can't remember their names O_O would have been a nice touch.
    Sorry my files a little louder than the others!

    Altogether a great little piece, i've been posting it around asking for feedback for the whole cast, so any i get i'll post here for you!

    Congrats on getting the trailer out!

    Well done putting it together! It was nice to watch it in English and seemed to register more than when trying to read the subtitles while everything is rushing by XD Thanks everyone for working on this and Tara for mixing this!

    You guys ready for a big old sesh of feedback?

    Mate of mine who runs and owns "Square Alliance", a website dedicated to Square made up from the KH and JRPG factions on GT had this to say, he's a BIG researcher of KH and knows a lot about the characters, their design, and their personalities... Of course, it's still opinion, so please take from it what you can!

    Yen-Sid/Braig
    1) Yen-Sid's opening is good, but it sounds a little too dramatic and not quite old enough. Definitely good, though.
    2) Yen-Sid remains good after that. Still a -little- too dramatic and not quite "old" enough.
    3) Yen-Sid's third set of lines is actually petty on-the-ball.
    4) Give Yen-Sid some props for me. lol He even does Braig rather nicely.

    Sora
    1) Your first line was solid. You had the right pitch and attitude. You might want to try making your voice a little higher, but only if you actually can.
    2) When you say, "Where... Am I?," you should probably make "Am I" sound a little more question-like. A bit more "airy," if that makes sense. lol It's a tiny bit flat. Good overall, but I'm trying to be harsh, here!
    3) "Riiiiikkkuuuuuu" was a little awkward, but I can't exactly blame you for that... It's hard as hell to scream that name so long without being, well, Japanese. lol
    4) Your response to Neku's explanation of his hand-counter is pretty spot-on, except slightly deeper than Osment... Which isn't a big problem, unless your goal is to replicate him as best as possible.

    Riku
    1) Riku... It sounds a little nasally, for my personal idea of Riku. His tone was actually good. It's just the voice itself which bothered me on this line
    2) Riku's voice sounds WAY better when he talks to Quasimodo than it did at the beginning.

    Neku
    1) Neku is going to be tougher to critique, because he hasn't had a voice actor before. xD okay. He sounds a little more high-pitched than I remember, in your video. But pretty good.
    2) The "Dream Eaters!" exclamation by Neku sounds a little flat.

    Quas
    1) Quasimodo sounds kind of kiddish, but his tone is in-character.

    There... Literally, I asked him to watch it, and he typed it as he listened via Facebook Chat... So it's just a C+P, obviously those with more lines had more to critique. He enjoyed it overall, and said it's far better than some professional recordings out there... He was impressed. If you have any things to question about it or whatever, let me know and i'll pass them back to him

    Yeah, I won't lie. This is something I was a bit worried about when I was cast. Tom Hulce's (the original VA) voice isn't as nasally as I am, and that usually makes the characters I voice sound like a kid. I'll keep working on the voice so I'm more comfortable not making him as kiddish. Tell your mate I appreciate the feedback!
