Tales of Symphonia, the Animation
United Worlds Arc
Has anybody seen the episode yet? So many emotions. ;A;
The OVA is coming to a close, and I’d like to be able to dub the final arc. So I decided I’d give casting this a shot. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind, however.
*Be committed to the project. Most characters have a fair amount of dialogue, but I don’t want to wait 2 months for it after I send out a script.
*You need to have a decent mic. There’s only so much I can edit. Quite a few characters will yell or raise their voice in this as well, so do your best to adjust your settings to prevent peaking.
*I don’t expect carbon copies of the voices from the game, but that’s the basic feel I’m aiming for.
*And finally, have fun! Don’t be upset if you audition and don’t get a part! It doesn’t mean you’re not good, so keep on trying!
Alright, and as for format, name your files “Symphonia_Character_Username” and email them to emiichan@live.com. Preferably .mp3 format. Multiple takes of each line is encouraged.
And I will re-open this for the characters who did not get enough auditions by Monday.
And here we go with the characters!
[[Males]] (Please note that I’d prefer if Mithos and Genis were played by females)
Lloyd Irving
Lloyd uses skill and logic to make up for what he lacks in knowledge, which is often a joke throughout the series as he fails to answer various educational questions. He is generally idealistic, and tries to do what he believes is best for the worlds of Sylvarant and Tethe'alla. Kratos compares Lloyd to Mithos, saying the only difference between them is that Lloyd is capable of acknowledging his own mistakes.
His voice should be in the medium range, and he is very full of energy.
Line 1 (calm, comforting): No matter if you grow wings and become an angel, or who your parents are, you're still you, Colette.
Line 2 (upset, almost yelling): What? No.. He can't be my father! No, you're lying to me!!
Genis Sage
Genis is the fourteen-year old friend of the game's main characters, Lloyd Irving and Colette Brunel. He is the brother of Raine Sage, and a prodigy in academics and magic. Although at first, Genis seems somewhat off-putting and sarcastic, he can be one of the group's most mature members.
His voice should be a female's voice, as he is still quite young. It would be medium to low, or at least close enough to a young boy's voice.
Line 1 (very upset, yelling, crying, just very upset): I’m a half elf, and you’re a human!! How do I know I can trust you? How do I know you won’t betray me?
Line 2 (sympathetic, melancholy): Oh.. I’m sorry to hear about your sister. If I ever lost mine, I don’t know what I’d do.
Kratos Aurion
Kratos is displayed as a cold and heartless mercenary early in the game, though is also an expert in swordsmanship, a fact that makes Lloyd angry. The only thing he has in mind at the beginning of the game is to protect Colette, as that is what he is assigned to do. However, as the journey progresses, Kratos begins to open up a little, giving hints about a past where he made a terrible mistake.
His voice is low, smooth, and serious.
Line 1 (sorrowful): Lloyd.. I’m sorry I have never been there for you.
Line 2 (serious, he’s using an attack): Rest in peace sinners! Judgment!
Zelos Wilder
Zelos is the Chosen One from Tethe'alla. He is rarely serious and acts as a comic relief for the group, always ready to cheer the party up at heavy-hearted moments. Quite the ladies' man, he takes almost every opportunity to hit on his female team members, much to their annoyance. Despite this, he is actually quite perceptive, and can be surprisingly sensitive at times.
Zelos has a medium to medium-low voice, and energetic, as well as flirtatious.
Line 1 (serious): Can you really forgive that angel for lying to you all this time? Heh.. Just be careful who you trust.
Line 2 (light hearted): Hey hunnies, why the long faces? Cheer up, it’s time to eat!!
Regal Bryant
Though he looks kind of scary and warning at first, he is a very polite gentleman. He seems to have connections to Presea, or at least seems to know her from somewhere. Because of a crime he committed, he uses his shackles as a symbol for that crime, and uses only his feet in fighting.
Regal's voice is low and calm, and he rarely raises his voice.
Line 1 (surprised, in disbelief): Alicia? No.. You can’t be. You must be.. Presea?
Line 2 (Angry, but not necessarily yelling): How could you betray your own friend like that? I cannot forgive you!
Mithos Yggdrasil
Mithos had strong ideals about peace and unity, but his sister's death deepened his hatred for humanity and made him lose track of whether the world or her life was more important to him. He took her final words to heart; her wish was for a world without discrimination, which he interpreted as a wish to end the persecution of half-elves. Mithos's ideals then became twisted after this.
Mithos is another character to be voiced by a female; the same basic voice type as Genis, but perhaps a bit more "raspy".
Line 1 (doubtful): But he’s a human, and you’re not. He can’t be trusted.
Line 2 (Very upset, crying, yelling): No, Martel!! Don’t leave me! Open your eyes!! Martel!!
Yggdrasil
Yggdrasil is the form Mithos uses as the leader of Cruxis. He has an adult voice and appearance.
His voice should be in the medium-low range, and quite conceited.
Line 1 (serious): Martel, my beloved sister, I will bring you back!
Line 2 (bitter): You disgusting inferior beings, you know not of what you speak. Now get out of my way.
Yuan Ka-Fai
Yuan bears a calculating and cynical personality, and always has a professional atmosphere around him. He is seen to never let anything come before his goal, even if he has to kill his best friend. He also hardly shows attachment to others, perhaps because, with his Cruxis Crystal, he will outlive everyone he knows. He usually comes off as cold, aloof, and sarcastic.
Yuan's voice should be medium to low.
Line 1 (A bit angry, somewhat in a sarcastic manner): Tell me Kratos, do you still intend to stand by that madman after everything he’s done? Heh, what a fool.
Line 2 (melancholy): Martel’s last wish was to have a world free of discrimination. Mithos just twisted her wish.. I’m trying to accomplish what she truly wanted.
[[Females]]
Colette Brunel
A big klutz, she is quick to take responsibility, and puts everybody above herself. She is brave and quick to do what she believes is right, but she is not very self-confident, and can be slow to decide what the right action is, most of the time asking Lloyd to decide in her stead. Colette is also very self-conscious and wishes she were not different; it is because she is different that she never was able to live like a normal girl.
Colette should have a medium high to high voice, and should sound sweet and caring.
Line 1 (hopeful): It doesn’t matter who your parents are, it doesn’t change that you’re still you, right?
Line 2 (scared): No, let me go! Let go of me! Lloyd, Lloyd!!
Raine Sage
Raine is a calm and calculating thinker. She is relatively pragmatic, and she tends to think of longer term consequences rather than the short term need to help someone. he is a horrifically bad cook, and supposedly cannot do laundry either, causing her to rely on Genis to do housework and cooking.
Raine should have a medium-low and serious voice, but should also sound caring as well.
Line 1 (stern): It does no good to dwell on the past. You must think before acting irrationally.
Line 2 (excited): Oh my!! Look at all these ruins! They’re just so wondrous! Marvelous! Fantastic!!
Sheena Fujibayashi
Sheena is what you could call a clumsy assassin, as her original mission was to kill Colette. However, she has grown to like Colette and the group, and has helped them in their journey. Sheena has a rough outer personality at times, but cares a lot about her friends and would do anything to protect them.
Her voice should be a medium tone.
Line 1 (angry): I always knew you were a pervert, but I always thought you were a good person when it came down to it!
Line 2 (calm, thinking of good memories): You know, it used to be just me and Corrine. Now I have all these friends. I can never thank you enough for everything.
Presea Combatir

Martel Yggdrasil
Martel was Mithos’s sister, and raised him in place of their mother. She had a selfless personality, much like Colette. Her wish was to live in a world free of discrimination, and after her death Mithos twisted her last wish.
Her voice should be soft and caring.
Line 1(very weak, but trying to stay positive): Mithos, please don’t be sad. I’ll always be here with you..
Line 2 (hopeful): I hope to one day live in a world free of discrimination. That is what I truly wish for.
Pronyma
Pronyma is a heartless and selfish woman who only cares about herself and the wishes of Yggdrasil.
Her voice should be somewhat cynical sounding.
Line 1 (serious): Lord Yggdrasil, your wounds have not yet healed. Be careful.
Line 2 (angry): Augh! You inferior vermin, you will pay for this!
Anna
Anna was Lloyd’s mother and Kratos’s wife, but not much is known about her since her death.
She only has one line in the episode. Her voice should sound motherly.
Line: Lloyd, do what you believe in your heart.
And I think that's everyone! Wow, that's a lot of characters. o_o I look forward to hearing from you guys! ^_^
