  1. #1 [Dk] (Creepfest) Rosario + Vampire - A Nightmare & A Vampire Clip

So this clip was supposed to be out on Halloween. Of 2010. Yes. October 2010. You read that right. BUT FEAR NOT FOR IT IS HERE NOW. Originally part of my creepfest clip collection for last year's Halloween, I just gave this it's own thread since 1.) it's so delayed and 2.) it's such a long clip. Some lines are over a year old but other than that this is fresh as can be! Please enjoy!

That was simply terrific. Great performances right across the board and the sound engineering with tailored with precision.

Moka/Other Moka - mizura - Mizura. This, I do believe, is the first I have heard from you. And if this is a taste of what I will be hearing in future. Let me just say that my appetite has been wetted. You have a lovely voice with very soothing tones, but what impresses me most is your range from high to low-mature. I feel perhaps the latter is the range you have lesser experience with. But I had to make sure I was not listening to two seperate voice overs the difference was applaudable. So give yourself a pat on the back. I hope I get the pleasure of voicing alongside you in future.

Kurumu - Shudo Ranmaru - A solid peformance across the board. As always you do not fail to deliver on consistency and emotional range. A delight to listen to, I feel you enjoy these excentric, seductive supporting characters a little too much.

Tsukune - King Chronn - Very nice indeed. You have a solid voice and your line deliveries and enunciation is terrific. There is a simple art in speaking on one level and keeping deliveries interesting to listen to. Kudos. I did not get to hear your emotional range here, however, and would like to do so in future.

Walla - The sound of two hands clapping.

Mixing - Very disappointed that you simply ripped the audio from the official version and laid over the voices. What is that? You did not? Lies.
    - Resume -

    Dream with me.

Oh my. I made myself cringe very hard. xD;; Oh, the old lines.

Nice to see this out, though! Kurumu & Tsukune were super good matches and <3 Shudo steals the show~
    Mixing is wonderful as usual.

    I really have nothing productive to add because all I can complain about is moiself. I enjoyed this muchly! Thanks for letting moi be a part of it ;
--and reminding me that I never got around to seeing this anime either. Arghhhhh there’s so much to watch.

A very well done dub, I'm greatly impressed! The mixing was awesome, with the right number and levels of BGM, SFX and dialogue. All were of excellent crisp quality too!

The performances delivered by everyone were fantastic. It must have been difficult with such a wide range of emotions being displayed, but you guys nailed each one greatly. It's hard to pick a single stand out moment, but the nurse office and fight sequence are among my favourites.

I don't think there's anything I could fault with this, you can't even tell there is a time difference between when some lines were performed. The only reason I knew is because it was mentioned, and I still couldn't point out which lines they would have been.

With such great performances and quality, I wouldn't blame someone for thinking this was an official dub. Great work, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Oh and Tsukune...you lucky dog! XD

That was a pretty cute clip there, Shudo.

I think for the first time in a while, I feel like giving a detailed critique.

KingChronn/Tsukune Aono : Your Tsukune seems deeper than originally portrayed by the Japanese voice and Todd Haberkorn. Not saying it's a bad thing. In all honesty, I prefer it. I've got nothing much to talk about when it comes to improving your voice, so well done.

mizura/Moka Akashiya : Well, this is new. I've never heard of the same voice actress portraying both sides of Moka. And, I have to say, your execution was well done as well. It almost sounds like Laura Bailey took the role instead of Alexis Tipton and Colleen Clickinbeard.

S h u d o - R a n m a r u/Kurumu Kurono : Oh Kurumu. Confused at first. Desperate even. Then, she gets rescued by Tsukune, and now she is head over heels for him. Every single part of that transition was well performed by our own Shudo. Great job.

Mixing and otherwise : All the extras did well. Their perverted behavior fit in quite well with this clip. Also, the mixing in this clip has almost nothing for me to nitpick. It almost sound official.

I liked the clip, Shudo. Possibly, one of my favorites.

@ Dusk Requiem: Thanks so much for the comment! And yes. Eccentric/seductive roles are definitely a favorite of mine and I'm happy to hear my performance was enjoyable. I'm also elated to hear that about the mixing, as I was trying a new technique and did my best to really go all out on the sound design. I'm glad you enjoyed the clip! Thank you again!

@ mizura: I'm glad you enjoyed the clip mizura! Old lines or not, I still thought you did an absolutely fabulous job as both Mokas and it was a pleasure to work with you again! Thank you for the comment and for being a part of the project. c:

@ Rogue Angel: Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I'm really happy that you enjoyed the clip, cast and the mixing! Also happy to hear old lines couldn't specifically be picked out. Also very flattered that you mentioned it could be mistaken for an official dub - thank you so much!

@ Inukai: Thanks so much for the comment/critique! I'm glad you enjoyed the clip and cast and I'm extremely happy to hear that about the mixing! I'm happy to hear it's possibly one of your favorites as well, as I think it might be one of mine!

@ True Blue: Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. C: You should definitely check the series out, it's a very fun one!

Thank you again to everyone who commented/critiqued, it really means a lot to me!

This was definitely worth the wait! I have to disagree with Mizura though. I think she did a fantastic job of portraying both sides of her character, and the voice differentiation really caught me off guard at first. I actually checked the cast list again to see who was voicing her vampire half, so that says something about her ability to augment her pitch to great effect. King Chronn did a great job playing the third wheel (lets face it, this is a battle between the girls), and I couldn't find anything to nitpick at for the deliveries. Shudo, you were fantastic as always. The only thing I could even pick on was the maniacal laughter. I'm so used to hearing the cuter, more innocent laughter from you that I wanted to be shocked by the sharp difference this laughter would have to it, but I wasn't completely blown away by it, and I think a sufficiently-crazed laugh is something everyone can always work on for those villainous roles. Maybe let go of the vocal control (if you get what I mean?) and just go wild with it for your next psycho role. That's all I've got though. The lines themselves were great. Mixing was spot on as usual. I won't even go into a critique for that. I will say that I'm jealous of your inner-monologue reverb skills. You put just the right amount of echo and delay on them to differentiate them from the generic "cavernous room" sound. I'm sure you know what I mean.

@Tonberry: Thank you so much for the wonderful comment/critique Tonberry! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the clip and cast! I'll definitely make a note about the laughter! I agree I could've went a bit further with it and I'll definitely do so when I get another role that allows me to do so! The feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm also happy to hear that about the reverb! I was playing with a couple things so I'm pleased they turned out well and paid off.

Thanks again for the critique, as always I greatly appreciate it! <3

Verrrrrry nicely done. Shudo, your voice and deliveries are fluid and perfect for the medium as always. Mizura, I'd never heard that lower range. That's rather nice. It vaguelly reminded me of Melodee Spevack as Kamatari in Rurouni Kenshin. Not heard that voice in ages, but I'm pretty sure that's who it reminded me of.
King Chronn - myesss, always good to hear more of you. I would be more than happy to smother your voice in my ample bosom.

    The few things I believe I noticed was;
When Kurumu smashed out through the window, the window smash was rather quiet, while the cloth/hit sound used just before was rather loud. So the balance between those two sounds seemed odd to me.
One or two of Mizura and KingChronn's lines - when they occasionally had two phrases with a short break inbetween - would use the same inflection on both. Like "So that's the reason...you dare bare your fangs against me?" and "In my opinion...both Mokas..are each my own very precious friends. That's why" -etc. They had that same rising inflection on them. I think that's partly an issue of scripting, in that you're essentially saying the same phrase over a broken up space of time. However, whether it's rescripting or just giving a different intonation to the phrases, that's something I'd say to be watched out for.

    Lovely job everyone involved.
