  1. #1 Rise, Team Guardian (A Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Fanmade Animation)
In the beginning of the summer of 2011, two of my cousins and I have made a plan to create an animated series based off of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team. We have decided to call it Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rise, Team Guardian, since the main characters will be on a team called Team Guardian.

The series would include the 4th Generation Pokemon and attacks (Mostly because I wanted Riolu and Buizel to be the main characters, and I wanted Absol to know both Dark Pulse and Giga Impact, all of which are 4th Gen), but the general dialogue won't be changed much.

However, when my cousins and I were discussing this project, we quickly realized that there were going to be many problems: None of us have good enough drawing/animating skills to make the series, the music wouldn't be synced with the animation (which would mean that remixes of the music would be needed to synchronize the music with the action), and there are only 3 of us and at least 45 parts to fill (not including extras). Also, I'll need help in writing the script (I can do most of the script, but I'll still need help).

The one other PMD-based series I've found was silly and failed to even begin to capture the emotion engraved in the dialogue of the game. If anyone is interested in helping to make an animated series based on one of the (arguably) best Pokemon games made, please contribute to this thread.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...Qc0/edit?pli=1 <There are the audition lines. If there are any questions please PM me and/or ask them directly onto this thread.

Please note: if you audition for any role you will be considered for extras as well except by special request. Please send auditions in either a .midi or .mp3 format to me via pm. or as an email: dragonianmaster@gmail.com
EDIT: I have noticed that some of you tend to compress your files when you send them. Well, for some of them, I have been encountering problems when attempting to open the file. To be on the safe side (and to ensure that I recieve your auditions), please refrain from compressing your file if you can. Thank you.

This is the script-in-development for this project. I've been working very diligently on this. This is the first script i've ever written, and I would like some feedback. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...4qAD_bxfk/edit

I'll definitely audition once a deadline is put up. I was surprised and enchanted by the touching story of Mystery Dungeon.

A deadline? I was going to put a deadline once the auditions start, but I think that a good timeline is this:
    Auditions should start on 11/15/2011
Auditions end either when all character spots are filled or 1/21/2012; whichever comes later
I'll make more dates when the auditions are done.

10/10/2011 was October 10th of this year. Did you mean December 10th (12/10/2011)?

Also, to clarify, this is a first-come-first-serve audition process, yes?
You implied this with 'when all character spots are filled', but I thought I'd double check and also advise you that many members of the VAA community don't really approve of this type of audition process as they feel it's unprofessional and unfair and, indeed, does not yield the best results.
I don't feel it's my place to question your approach, but I thought I'd let you know in case it's not something with which you're familiar.

Umm... thank you for pointing out that embarassing mistake. Yes, I ment December.
Also, this is not a first-come-first-serve. I want many people to audition, and I'll see if their voice matches the criteria for that character. If they do, then I'll hold them into consideration just in case someone else better matches the voice type that I need. Furthuemore, when I say "when all character spots are filled," I am saying that I really don't want multiple people to alternate voicing a single character. I want them to stick with that character. It's another thing if something unforseen happens and that person is no longer able to help with this project.
As this is my first time doing this, I was hoping to get better by practice. Also because I'm not very knowlegable about this, I respect and welcome your clarifications. I need to make sure that I have everything explained in the right way.
One more thing: Please tell me if these dates are unrealistic. I just picked random dates on the calendar hoping for them to work.

December 10 may be enough time to cast lead roles, but you probably won't be able to cast all of those characters you had on the Google Doc in that amount of time.

The normal audition process doesn't really involve that whole 'holding in consideration' thing. It generally just goes like so:
You post a deadline and lines. People send in auditions. Once the deadline has been reached, you listen to all the auditions and cast the roles as you see fit. I would recommend including a notice such as this:

"Note that if you audition for any role you will be considered for extras as well except by special request."

That way some of your extra roles can be filled by people who don't have time to actually audition for each individual small role.

Thank you for telling me this. I'll adjust the date.

Thank you for telling me this as well. Like I said, this is the first time I have ever done anything like this. I need someone who is knowledgable in this process to lead me in the right direction.
