...wow! I didn't even realize this thread died quite a bit back. Anyway I'm bringing it back to life by putting the updated version of my Dragunity/Assault Mode, which has net me quite a lot of wins and put me on a 20 win streak.

On a side note: I tried watching Yu Gi Oh! ZEXAL's English Dub, thinking it would grow to me eventually just like the Japanese dub 5D's did as I watched it more. Yeah well, I hated it. I could not stand the main guy going "I'm feeling the flow!" The last 3 catch phrases were somewhat bearable (Judai's being the most annoying out of the 3) but this one, just no.

I had no idea that something as beautiful as the Dueling Network even existed!

I use to play tournaments with a card group when I was younger (by younger I mean when I was in high school). I would either run a merciless beat down deck. The beat down deck I had was when the tournaments used the standard format and when I say merciless I mean I had great cards to back my deck up with like Imperial Order, Royal Decree, Harpie's Feather Duster, Mirror Force, Fiber Jar, Cyber Jar (the ultimate dick move card in that deck in my opinion). I also made sure that most of the monsters would be effective. Like Spear Dragon, Giant Orc and Goblin Attack Force because if needed their effects could serve as a shield and I liked to abuse Fairy Injection Lily. The deck had a lot of expensive cards that contained cards that the group contributed.

When I played Advanced Format I used a Zombie deck (before the Zombie structure deck came out). And trying to get cards for that was a pain. But Summoning a Despair from the Dark on my first turn was fun when I used Call Of the Mummy.

I think the Yu-Gi-Oh anime fell off after the original series ended. I didn't care much for the filler, but I found the actual manga based story arcs to be pretty good. I didn't care for GX too much because it was super formulaic and there were way to many fake cards. I couldn't watch the dueling on motor cycles.

I think Yu-Gi-Oh was at it's peak during the Battle City Arc. That's when the show was incredible interesting, and it was right after the Invasion of Chaos Booster packs came out. Some of the new sets since then have been pretty good, but meh...I don't like how most sets are of useless cards.

I also think Fusions > Rituals > Syncros > Xyz

The only reason it seems different is because all of the support cards for Fusions & Rituals are banned or restricted to 1.

I do not know, but I rather enjoyed Yu-Gi-Oh! DM, all the way through Duelist Kingdom, Battle City (I lost track of the series after that, because I was more concerned whether Yuugi would defeat Kaiba or not and how), but picked it up again during the Egyptian Arc. While, I love DM the best, I could not get back into it with GX. For some reason, while watching the first few episodes, I felt Jaden was very annoying as a character, though granted his Japanese counterpart was not so bad, in my opinion. 5D's didn't really do anything for me; though I have to admit, that the more I see, hear and watch a few snippets of 5D's, the more I am falling in love with Yusei. Although, my first love of Yu-Gi-Oh! will and always be Atem. >.> As for Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXal? Eeeeehhhhh, that irked me. Did not and would not watch passed episode three. Now, I am waiting to see what other Yu-Gi-Oh! Character/Series they will come up with next... with whatever funky hairstyle and "Yuu" named character they can concoct... and let's not forget a corny catch phrase.

I also loved the animation during the Battle City Arc, esp. during the duels surrounding the duel tower. Honestly, I wish they had kept that kind of style throughout. The characters all have beautiful fingers and features~ And the angles of their drawing a single card was epic in itself. <3
