Well I wasn't really going to AX Idol to become the next big VA, it was more of a personal obstacle I wanted to pass for years now, so can't lie, disappointed. I probably won't make it to Expo now amongst other reasons.

I heard about that. I'm a bit disappointed even though I am not going this year. But who knows,that may give people an extra year to practice for 2013. Just trying to look at the brighter side for once.

Yeah, but honestly aside Steve Blum, who I met before, I am not too excited about everything else. It's not like AX Idol is gone and I don't want to go to AX because of that, but after the panels last year, I am not looking forward to spend a boat load of cash just for that.

Yeah,it's not like Anime EXPO will get rid of this altogether,I'm sure they had their hands tied with this year and will be able to bring it back next.

Incredibly bummed out about AX Idol being canceled the year I learn about it and want to participate, but apparently, according to someone on the convention's staff, BangZoom! will be doing other voice acting relating things (besides panels, which pretty much everyone knows about already):

It's not that Anime Expo is trying to "cut back." In reality, AX Idol is managed primarily by Bang Zoom! Entertainment, and without them sponsoring it, there wouldn't be any of the voice-acting or singing prizes through that company. Plus, Bang Zoom! is doing something different this year--they'll actually have an Exhibit Hall booth where they will be holding voice-acting auditions as well as other panels and events.

So, there you go. Despite my initial disappointment, perhaps this is a substitute incentive. (As I am not a social person or a big con-goer; I'm only interested if there's an amazing seiyuu guest and voice acting-related things besides panels.)
