As much as I love Saban, their production seems a bit....dated. I mean with RPM, I felt that Power Rangers was finally moving forward. It was breaking out of it shell and doing something dark and edger. It was different, mature, and it worked for the new generation of RP fans. It felt like Power Rangers actually finally came of age. When I looked at Samurai, it felt like a step back to me. I think Samurai would have worked better back in the golden age of Power Rangers but that's the thing.....after RPM, things should have moved forward and be came more mature while Samurai just feels like it is stuck in the past. It is like going from a muscle car to a tricycle. Personally, I love Saban and the golden age of Power Rangers but if it is going to survive, they have to mature and go to the next level that RPM opened a road to.

The only problem with that is RPM aired on ABC Kids where pretty much no one was able to watch it. We're never going to get back to that level of PR unless Judd Lynn comes back which sadly won't happen if Tzachor's still there. Personally I would love to ask where this money they're saving on this 'live action dub' they call Samurai? That's the reason why the original Japanese writers are credited in the opening, it's apparently saving them a ton of money.

    No idea, man.

Anyway, I have been rewatching Kamen Rider Black so I can get myself geared up for when I rewatch Black RX and I must say....I have forgotten how much this show is so random with its Kaijin. Seriously, Guess what the Buffalo Kaijin does? Go on guess.....Give up? It controls a little girl giving her superhuman strength and a bad case of evil face. XD That is funny as hell. Black is just all kinds of weird at times but I still love it.

But if you like some old school, try Black RX, ZO, and J. Personally, I think they are the best of the Showa Era.
I guess once I have the chance, I'll start with W then move onto OOO (I'm a sucker for dark stories)

Personally, I like OOO over W just because it had more likeable characters that just felt more fun. Don't get me wrong, I like W characters, especially the always awesome Kamen Rider Skull but OOO had better chemistry between its cast of characters. It felt more organic and fun when I was watching it like the relationship between Eiji and Ankh of being unlikely allies to close friends to bitter enemies was gripping and fun to me. When we get to W, Shotaro and Philip are already a close nit team so there is barely any conflict about where they lay with one another. (Except......Nope. No Spoilers for you. XD) I like W but OOO is slightly ahead because I like the character conflicts better.

I'm right now watching a Sentai Mecha Compilation video on youtube and I have to say,the evolution of the Sentai mecha is a very interesting one as some of the many themes that have been used and how retro yet awesome looking some of the older Sentai mechs are.

I know this question may piss off some people but should Power Rangers eventually come to a point where they no longer have to rely on Sentai footage?

Not going to piss me off. I'm not that much of a purest. XD Anyway, In a way, I don't want them to stop using Sentai footage. I feel that is what makes Power Rangers felt different from other shows. Sure, it is limiting but it give it that right flair. That and it would cost an arm and a leg to do Zord fights originally like that.

Yeah they'd have to spend even more money to have all new footage done, which is probably one reason why they've just adapted the series the way that they have all these years. It would be interesting to see them come up with new footage like that but it probably won't happen.
