    I'd totally enter into this but the only problem is that this competition goes on for twelve weeks. ;____; I don't know where I'll be then or how much recording time I will have so I'm just going to cheer on everyone else for this one! Good luck to you all~ BTW It'll look good on a resume even if you just enter-- (of course better if you get into the finals or win but that's not the point.) It'll show that you're active in voice acting outside of amateur acting online and that you work hard AND are dedicated to improving on a professional level.

    Good luck guys and gals~! Just don't forget to have fun

    Yeah I know what you mean! I'm starting college and of course I'm not gonna put recording and this competition before school that I'm paying for. So I guess I can't enter either ;__;

    I agree with you on how it'll look good on a resume! Things like this always have a way of helping you out somehow XD.

    I read the rules and it says you're supposed to try out with original lines (copyrighted material will get you disqualified). I recommend coming up with some lines for yourself or if you can't you can either ask producers that you've worked with for original roles before on this site to use their lines or ask some people if you can use lines from their project even though you weren't part of it.

    Anyway I also wish everybody good luck with this!

    That may be the hard part. Making original lines.

    I'd recommend grabbing an emotion first and just hit the record button. Act out the character and see what you come up with. I personally wouldn't write lines before hand (but that's just me) since you don't have an actual character to keep in your thoughts. It'll sound more natural if you just jump into it and become the character on the spot

    After checking my schedule looks like I won't be able to participate in this. I have to study for the SAT this coming October and I plan on passing it the first time. Good luck to all the competitors and I wish you all good luck.

    From a life's perspective just because a few words are in caps does not mean i'm " throwing a fit". Even when i know i'm going to lose i'm still planning on taking part in this.

    wow, it's so cool that someone shared the contest here. great to see all of those enthusiastic about it. I wanted to clarify a couple of things.

    The Official Rules will need to be reworded, but by original lines, what we meant was that they were recorded by you, and not audio taken from a show or something. So you can use lines from anything you want, as long as YOU are the one who records it.

    Updated Official Rules:
    "- Submissions must consist of content recorded by you and must not contain any audio from copyright material or any material that is owned by anyone other than you. Any Submissions found to be fraudulent or not meeting the requirements of the Official Rules may or will be disqualified.
    - Submissions may consist of lines from any source (original or copyright) but must be recorded by you."

    I hope that makes things easier for people. We look forward to hearing all your auditions!!

    I think a lot of people are thinking they're going to get $100 for winning this, but it looks like you get a prize that is WORTH $100 instead. Not that that's a bad thing either.

    You'll have to forgive this old bat, but if I read that correctly, what you've just said and what is written as official rules is contradicting. And I shall point out why. D:

    First, the official rules state: "Submissions may consist of lines from any source (original or copyright) but must be recorded by you."

    Then above it, you said: "... recorded by you, not taken from a show or something. So, you can use lines from anything you want, as long as you are the one who records it."

    Now, I can understand that you wouldn't want people to use audio from copyrighted material for fraudulent purposes, say for example taking a recording from a professional actor and claiming it as their own. But, what you have said is that we can't use anything (the word being broad) from copyrighted material, yet at the same time the rules state clearly: "Submissions may consist of lines from any source..." and goes on to tell us original, or copyright. So, you can see where I am a bit confused on the matter. ^^;;

    "- Submissions must consist of content recorded by you and must not contain any audio from copyright material or any material that is owned by anyone other than you."

    Either way you look at it, it's still basically saying we've got to come up with something original on our own? o.o;;

    hey Sakasa. sorry about the confusion. after re-reading what I posted, I can see that it's very easy to misinterpret. I updated my post above, but basically what I meant was that you can't take audio from a show/movie or something, or from say someone elses audio and submit it, pretending that its you.

    So the lines that YOU record can come from anywhere, as you are the one who records them, and records them specifically for this contest.

    I updated the rules to state "must not contain any audio from copyright material or non-copyright material that is owned by anyone other than you"

    I hope that made sense
