I wrote a brief report in my LJ
http://www.livejournal.com/~bloody_sakura
Since I'm too lazy to do a good gathering report and I refuse to get an LJ with which to do so, I'm just gonna talk about
the food and general dining experiences I had...
Wednesday:
Due to long flights and high excitement, I hadn't had much to eat throughout the day. Once myself and Matt arrived in
Cali and were picked up by Serena, me, Matt, Lucien, Serena, and Brett were all hungry so we decided to try one of
the local exclusive restaurants. It was immeadiately concluded that we'd go to "In and Out Burger". Upon arriving and
having a glance at the menu, a problem arose. You see, short of any penetration, In and Out Burger takes its name
quite literally: they only serve burgers and fries. I don't eat beef so I was shocked and horrified. I decided then that it
was cool and I could go a day without food, but apparently the crew I was with wasn't so keen on that. Never in my life
had I been under so much peer pressure. They practically forced me to eat there, so I went up to the counter to get some
fries. So I walk up to the guy and say, "Let me get 2 things of fries". He then says "Excuse me?". I repeat, "2 things of
fries please". He gives me this blank look and queries of me "What do you mean "things" of fries?" I stop to look over the
menu again. As I had thought, fries didn't come in sizes nor with any kind of topping. If I order fries, it doesn't matter what
else I say cause there was only the one way to get them. So I look back at him and ask him "How do your fries come?"
He tells me "In a basket". "Well then give me 2 of those". Screw that guy...and the fries were decent...
Thursday:
It was early in the morning, and none of us had eaten that day. Serena, whose apartment we were staying at, was gated. She had left for the morning to pick up Nick, so we were pretty much trapped. Me, John, and Matt tried to think of a way outside to find some food. The initial plan was for me to jump off on to a nearby roof to go get some Little Caesar's, however, this plan was abandoned cause it was retarded. Luckily Matt found an "unlocked" gate door so we snuck out that way. Unfortunately, Little Caesar's was not yet open so we had to find another place...King's Donuts. This place was actually awesome. 50 cent donuts and ice cream. What's more, they had pistachio ice cream which was a favorite from my youth and very hard to find these days... So I got the ice cream and a coconut covered donut, and all was awesome...
The other place I went on this day was Pizza Hut. I'm no big Pizza Hut fan ,but damn, having a fastfood place open till
1 A.M. one floor down was pretty freaking sweet. So I head over there and me and John put 50/50 on a cheese pizza.
They tell us twenty minutes so we just hang around there waiting...and waiting...so then Katie and Velvy show up and I
get/have to listen to John "work his magic" on them while waiting...and waiting...so finally I walk up to the counter and ask
them why they never called my number making me wait forty minutes for a pizza. "Oh we didn't think you wanted it so we
were just going to sell it to whoever would pay for it." ... I was standing right there the entire time, what was their deal?
Alright this is freaking long by my standards so I'll do this in installments since no matter where I ate, it turned into a
tragedy of epic proportions...
The con was....OK. I wouldn't go as far as saying dissapointing though. I do vote on a none con event though. Ski trip anyone?Originally Posted by Lucien

Ski trip is a bad idea because the only time people would have off during the winter would be in December, when people are on Christmas vacation. And most people go away for Christmas vacation.

It's these Californians, I'm telling you.Originally Posted by Joe

And here is my measly collection of pictures from AX... >_> Yeah... I'm sorry, guys, I just didn't feel like carrying my purse around all the time. XD Cosplay + Purse = Back pain. Read the description of the first picture to find out why.
And I think to make up for my lack of photos, I'll post some pictures I've found around the net of our skit. Since 5 cast members are AVAers and all.

That's why i always put pockets on my costumes now... *lol*
Then i can fit my money, hotel key card, and my camera without having to have to carry anything. ^^
Great pics!
... though, one of the Karaoke ones came out blurry... >.>;;;
Speaking of photos on the net... still waiting on Consplayers.com to upload the photoshoot pics with the FF:AC group... >.>;;;
Does he still hate me for being late? *lol*
I don't know what the delay is. I hope he didn't lose the pictures. But I know a bit about shoots since I work in a studio, and you have to consider this: the photographer takes maybe about 3-5 shots of one pose, which they have to narrow down to the best shot out of those 3. Then they have to do the same thing for the other 8 poses, then when they have the best shot of each pose, they have to narrow it down to 5 poses, since that's how many we paid for. Then he has to move onto the NEXT person in the shoot. And sometimes it takes my boss SEVERAL weeks to get pictures back to people.Originally Posted by Aimi
And Aimi, don't worry about you being late- WE were the ones who were late. (TWICE! We were late for the Sakura-Ino shoot, too!). If we had just been where we were supposed to be at the right time, you would have been fine. ^^;;
OH SNAP.
For anyone who attended AX, you'll know this one.
