I saw it before I read it, actually. I liked it on first viewing, but thinking back it's pretty lame. It's misogynistic and the characters are wholly unlikable. Two Gentleman of Verona is pretty bland, too.
Because I'll be pulverizing you sometime over the weekend.

And the cleaning lady... cleans up... dust. She dusts. And she has weekends off, so... Monday. Right?

Make sure to read an edition with good study notes; I like the Arden Shakespeare. Oxford and Pelican are good, too.

Shakespeare and his sexual innuendos and puns. Oh man....

    Tempest was good!
Also I found Twelfth Night highly enjoyable. The movie "She's the Man" was loosely based on it.
My favorite would have to be Hamlet though. The humor in it balances Hamlet's angst well. ^o^

Much Ado About Nothing is an awesome play. Trying watching Kenneth Branaghs movie version. It has Denzel Washington, Emma Thompson, Kate Beckinsale and a bunch of other people

Shakespeare is something i used to shy away from because it was something i regularly had to encounter in Theatre School. But once you learn the way the text flows and how to understand his words it becomes quite enjoyable.

Think my favorite is A Midsummer Nights Dream! Everything about Puck i love so much, his character is so much fun to invision and even better to play.

I didnt like Macbeth. I couldnt understand a word they said. And Lady Macbeth was a complete and utter bitch for forcing all that trouble on her husband.

I actually liked Merchant Of Venice. We looked at it in English Literature and watched two versions of it. The first portrayed Shylock as a crafty and sinister character. i didnt like that version. But the 2nd had Al Pacino as Shylock. He played him as a much more tragic character. He was mistreated for being Jewish and wanted to get revenge on the man who lent money off him.

You will stop enjoying Puck the moment you see Mickey Rooney portray Puck. The most annoying Shakespearean portrayal maybe ever.

    We have a winner.......
I have still to see the Mickey Rooney version of Puck but have seen the Iain Holm version and he fitted everything i love about the character. No matter what he's in, could be 5th Element, Lord of the Rings or the Borrowers, he can pick up the qualities in characters which make them enjoyable to watch!
