  1. #1 Star Trek: Red Squad
Hello! Im Chris, and Im addicted to vodka and...wait, this isn't AA? Oh...well, while I'm here...

A little about me: Ive been using Autodesk 3D Studio Max for about 4 years, and I've come quite a long way since Ive started using it. Ive mostly been using lower poly game models in my animations, but I believe recently Ive come to the point where one can barely tell the difference.

So with that said, I would like to introduce my project, Star Trek: Red Squad.

Star Trek: Red Squad details a future some time after the events of the Hobus Supernova (Star Trek XI/Star Trek: Countdown). The legendary starship USS Enterprise is starting to grow into her twilight years, and with that she is commissioned as a training ship for the elite cadets of Starfleet's Red Squad Division. The newest graduates, with young Eric Davids being at the top of the class, are assigned to command the ship on a ten-month training cruise. However, in the midst of their cruise, they are thrust into the plans of a dangerous Romulan Criminal Warlord, who has been creating deadly weapons that could spell doom for Starfleet and Earth itself.

This project, due to the amount of explosions and some language, would probably be considered PG or PG-13 by movie rating standards.

Episode 1: Incursion at Sagan was created around the time I just got into 3ds Max, about a year or so into using it. I barely knew anything about how to make the ships look realistic, or for that matter, how to write a good story, and thats the reason why it started off as a simple animation thing to do in my spare time.

Before I even started thinking about episode 2, I got involved in a project called Earth-Link: Zero, which was a story inspired by Star Trek, Star Wars, Colony Wars, and many other sci-fi shows. I worked on it for about a year with my friend and film-making mentor, Chris Cameron. However, the project proved to be too ambitious for both of us and we ended up scrapping it, so I decided to revive Red Squad. A year later, with a little more knowledge in Max, as well as many other improved skills such as story-telling and editing, I released Episode 2: Kosac's Tears.

I have two more planned episodes for this project, and with the recent implementation of Adobe After Effects into my renders, I think it'll be quite nice. Episode 3 was to have featured character animation, however, due to time constraints, my producer and I have decided to save it for the fourth episode. Episode 3 is due for release April 15th, while the final episode is to be done by sometime this winter (exact release date unconfirmed as of yet).

Here is the trailer for Episode 3, created by my producer, Chris Cameron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89_nRNxBVDc

Several test animations I've done relating to the project are below.

Has your head exploded yet? No? Good. Now, with all this out of the way, I am looking for voice actors, and they havent been easy for me to come by.

Here is who I have cast so far:
    Deitrix - Chris Cameron
    Captain Henderson - Kirok
Science Officer Darren Ward - J. Tull
    Captain T'Rona - Annabel Rose
    Commander Vorsek - Gianinna Vinglinsky

I still need to cast these roles:

    Red Squad

All characters in Red Squad are pretty young, so I'd go with ages of no less than 17, and no more than 25.

Eric Davids - The primary protagonist, leader of the cadets of Red Squad, and the "captain" of the Enterprise E. He's a somewhat cool, calm sort of character.
If you are auditioning for this character, read this line: "So what's the plan, Captain?"

Qar Toren - First officer aboard the Enterprise E. He is not a man of many words, and usually lets the Captain take charge.
Auditioners use this line: "No neutrino emissions? No plasma exhaust?"

Ricky Sullivan - Helmsman and pilot of the Enterprise. Somewhat meek, but has incredible skill in piloting.
Auditioners use this line: "We have cleared the spacedock."

Ensign Cooper - Lead pilot of the Valkyrie Squadrons assigned to the USS Enterprise E. Anything goes for this character, so long as he sounds like a pilot.
"We are making a strafing run on the station's power plant now."

    USS Lumarian

The USS Lumarian is a Starfleet Light Cruiser that is destroyed in the beginning of the 3rd episode.

Captain Garov - Commander of the USS Lumarian, I'd say he's about in his 40's. I would picture this guy to have a sort of British accent. This character cusses.
    "Sensor scan now."

Lumarian Science Officer - Self explanatory. For this character anything goes, since its such a minor role.
    "The anomaly is fluctuating!"

    Red Fleet

The difference between Red Squad and Red Fleet is, Red Squad is the next generation of Red Fleet. Red Fleet is a specially assigned task group deployed by Starfleet for special missions, with unseen ties to Section 31 (however these ties are never revealed throughout the series).

Stark Draymond - Captain of the USS Valiant, a similar vessel to the Defiant. Draymond is a mostly formal, tough sort of character in his 40's. I would envision his voice as a sort of knock-off of Voice Actor Keith David (The Arbiter in Halo and David Andersen in Mass Effect are two of his more well known roles).
"Contact the Valley Forge. Tell them to prepare to coordinate the fleet."

Science Officer Presley - Science Officer of the USS Venture, under Captain Henderson's command. Again, such a minor role, so anything goes.
"Sir, I hate to interrupt, but I'm reading an anomaly directly in front of us."

    Other Roles

General K'Tarra - A 112 year old Klingon General who has fought and won countless battles against many foes. He commands the Heart of Kahless, a powerful Klingon Battleship.
"This is General K'Tarra commanding the IKS Heart of Kahless."

General Krixx - A 49 year old Romulan, and Deitrix's second in command. Krixx commands a brown Norexan-Type Warbird.
"Our surprise never left us, my lord."

The audio format can be either MP3 or WAV, 128 kBits/second, 44100 Hz. Please save your auditions and lines in a folder with the name of the character you want to play.

    (EX: (Charactername)\(Charactername)001, (Charactername)002, etc.)

Once you have them saved up, send the lines to me in a link to a ZIP folder using fileden, mediafire, or any other website that you can host files on, through a Private Message either here or on this site: flashtrek-tuf.com.

If anyone has any questions related to this project, feel free to post. I look forward to hearing from people!

The Voiceover Deadline is March 30th, though I have been thinking about extending it a few more days since Actors have been so hard to come by.

And one final note: if you are interested in a future long term project, please feel free to mention it!

    Bumping for support.

Also to my understanding, he's pushed the deadline back to like April 6th or April 8th, I forget, if anybody is still interested in auditioning.

It should be noted that turnaround deadline for the lines will be uber quick though as he wants to release his practically already-finished Episode 3 on April the 15th.
